Description of Work: Cleaned outdoor waterscape and installed an anti-algae system.

Description of Work: We had just moved in and needed a hedge that would define the border of our property as well as keep the little ones from wandering out. Also something to make the yard look less like a moonscape. They had just started their company and did a stellar job for us. I can't say just how many times I have felt grateful that we spent that money on New Leaf Landscaping. We had no knowledge of plants or the area and they chose perfectly and everything has thrived and brought much beauty to our yard. I am not sure if they did the work in 1987 or 1988 and what the month was.

Description of Work: They repaired our lawn irrigation system.

Description of Work: First, in 2003 Rick, a landscape architect at New Leaf, designed the landscaping around the house. He got the front scaping approved by Durham, since we would be putting in new trees along the road. All done and handled. After the house was finished they came in and installed the trees, shrubs, and monodo grass. They also put in a drip system to all the major plants. Now 8 years later, most people mention the landscaping continously when they first visit. Rick and New Leaf did a great job. That cost about $21K. The only area we disagreed on was the lawn. I was not happy with the ground prep and the lawn took forever to come up well (ended up using TruGreen). The drip system works well, and my wife has slowly used Rick's plans to fill in the whole yard, front, back and sides. The plan was anti-deer as advertised, thank you, Rick. About 4 years ago we decided to have the lot handled buy professionals. I solicitied bids from 4 sources. New Leaf was not the cheapest or the most expensive. The work is great and I like the crews. The trim the trees and shrubs, blow the lawn, weed (spray and picking), I would recommend Rick as a landscape architect without reservation. We will use him on our next home. I would recommend the New Leaf crew for installing plants and drip systems that last. We did have a tree die in the first year and New Leaf replaced it with one easy call, so I would recommend New Leaf on the basis of implementing their obligations. I would also recommend New Leaf for grounds maintenance. That is the cost I put in above and I get weekly visits for that price.

Description of Work: New Leaf provided various plans for landscaping my property. As we revised the plans, I found their personnel very patient, eager to please and very easy to work with. They know what plant materials will work in the area and which ones will require more effort. They installed a new stone patio and a new front walk. They added a wide staircase to my deck to enable easy access to the deck from the new patio. They installed drain lines to remove surface water from my property. They created landscaping berms and planted trees. They improved upon and expanded an existing irrigation system. They removed underbrush from an easement at the back of my property. They re-sodded the lawn after the major installations were completed.

Description of Work: They built up an existing bed 5' wide and approx 45' long and totally re-planted. The workmen who do the digging and planting work hard and did a great job...this poor assessment is about the management and designers....

Description of Work: They installed a new drainage system along side the house and a bird pond kit.

Description of Work: It took a few days for the company to return my initial phone call. A representative performed a free on-site consultation within a week of our first conversation. I wanted design and installation of four planting beds (perennials and three small-medium trees), < 200 square foot raised stone patio, and minor hand grading to facilitate drainage. I tried to discuss my budget parameters with the representatives prior to him drawing a plan but he did not want to discuss overall budget, rather his overall plan was drawn up in segments with the hope that I would do a series of smaller projects to accomplish my overall goal. The sum of the segments needed to achieve all of what we wanted was approximately $20 K. The estimate for the patio alone was > $8K. My wife and I purchased the plan for $300 mainly so we could use a subset of the plant list (which were dear resistant and hopefully suited to our region). In my opinion, estimates were too expensive for the work we wanted.
