Lee Air Conditioners

Lee gave us a good price on a new energy-efficient HVAC unit and was very responsive in following through from bid to installation. We could not be home for the installation and were disappointed in the state in which they left our attic. The trim around the access area to the attic was basically destroyed by their installation. They appear to have hastily taken it off, severely damaging it in the process, then they nailed it back on. The unit has worked well over the past two hot summers. In the winter of the first year (6 months after installation), the heating function stopped working altogether. Apparently some of the fuses in the unit had blown. Parts and labor were still under warranty so we did not have to pay anything and Lee fixed it. Less than a month later (when it was even colder), our unit started kicking off and would not turn back on. We had to call them 3 times over 4 days for them to take action. Given the possibility of pipes bursting under these conditions and the obvious discomfort of having no heat in the winter, we were disappointed in their service.

They were very punctual and professional. They gave me a good estimate. They were available for questions. They seemed to have good products. I had another estimate that came in better. I probably would use them in the future.

We had several companies look at our situation and give us estimates. The man from Lee seemed very well informed about HVAC systems and saw critical issues with our current system that needed to be addressed. His estimate was middle of the road, and he showed as much competence and expertise as the more expensive quotes. The work people showed up on time, were very courteous and finished promptly and without a mess.

Responsive (2 days), punctual and professional but the cost estimate was quite a bit higher than the other contractor's price, for the same unit.

They were quick to respond to my call. They came out and diagnosed my previous system and found out that the compressor was broken. They quoted me the price of a new system and came out and replaced it. They were quick with the work. They were very easy to deal with too. The only problem that I had with them was that they did not give me an invoice in a timely manner and in the way they had indicated they would. I later had a problem with the system and they were very responsive in coming out and repairing it.

Very well organized, very careful planning, and well installed. When there was an unanticipated problem with the location and orientation air-handler they did all they could to address my concerns. The system works well and is in very good shape. I could not ask for more.

Air conditioner quit working on a Friday evening. Within one hour of placing my call, I received a call back. Service was set for Saturday morning at 9:00am, showed up on time and replaced a defective part. Airconditioner has been working great ever since! Would definitely call Lee for service in the future.

We were very pleased with them. They come when you call. They are always neat and clean. Their prices seem to be in line with other people. They were very good about helping us decide which furnace to buy and which ones qualified for the energy rebate.

On a very cold Friday morning in February, my residential heat pump failed. For a fee of $93, Lee Air dispatched a technician within 4 hours. He quickly determined the trouble to be a bad variable speed blower motor, a $1,128.00 repair. The technician advised that with tax rebates and improved efficiency, it may be cost effective to replace the heat pump. He left a message for a salesman at his company and assured me that I would be contacted by end of business. At 4 pm I had not received a call back, so I called the salesman and reached voice mail. I called the main number and was guaranteed the salesman would return my call that afternoon. At 5pm they closed until Monday morning. The salesman finally called Monday afternoon. He arrived on Tuesday to give a quote that turned out to be over $500 higher than a reputable competitor’s quote. By the way, both the technician and the salesman left the crawlspace door open. After independent research, it was discovered the existing unit was already pretty efficient and improvement with a new unit would be slight. After six days without central heat, repair was made by a different HVAC contractor.

None, I called to HVAC companies Lee Air Conditioners and Jeff Daulton. Jeff Daulton called back almost right away and had the system repaired by the next day. More than a week later I have yet to hear from Lee and I doubt I ever will. I am not sure how they got such a good reputation with such a lack of responsiveness. Initially I was only going to call them, but decided to call someone else just in case there was a problem. It is a good thing I did, it was cold the next night and very cold the following night had I waited on Lee it would be a very cold experience.

They did well. They had to order the parts for the heating coils, but were back in two days to install them. They were there and gone in a few hours and the heat was working well within a couple hours. I would use them again.

We thought this company was very good and efficient at getting the job finished. There was a problem with the inspection and came out right away to correct it. This occurred on the weekend and they had no problem doing it right away. We liked this company very much and their quality of work. They were true professionals and we will use them again in the future.

My air conditioning stopped working. It just wouldn't turn on anymore. So I called a lot of places that do HVAC work to try to find someone who could come out promptly, and who would service apartment/condo air conditioners. (I have a condo which is an apartment, except that I own it.) Most places thought I was confused and tried to have me call my non-existent leasing office because they didn't understand that I own the unit. Those of you with condos know what I mean. Lee Air completely got the condo concept without me having to explain and agreed to fix the air conditioning. Within the same day I was connected with a technician who came out 30 minutes later. He put me at ease that he could deal with my problem and would minimize my costs. Then, he got right to work on diagnosing the problem: a burnt out transformer. He had the part in the truck and quickly replaced it and I had a working air conditioning system within the hour. The cost that I paid included the transformer (I got reconditioned, rather than new, to reduce costs) and an hour of his time. He explained that if I were on a monthly plan with Lee Air and paid a small monthly fee, that I would have had a smaller bill. He didn't do a hard sell and I declined that service at the time.

They were reasonably priced and honest which is rare among air-conditioning companies. They provided quality work and were upfront. They came on time, did good work and also responded to phone calls. They went out of their way and ordered a fan from another company and replaced it.

As a first-time homeowner, I asked Lee AC to send out a tech who wouldn't mind walking me through my house explaining how the heat/AC works. They did! The tech (Matt) was great -- super patient, answered all of my questions, and basically talked me through everything he did. He spent about 4 hours fixing minor issues and explaining my systems. I really appreciated him sharing his knowledge so willingly, even though I did end up paying by the hour ($93/hour). I will definitely be asking them to come back any time I have an issue, and I may ask them for an estimate on some retrofitting work later in the summer.

Very well. We had a maintenance contract with them. Our old furnace died in the Winter over Christmas while I was 8 months pregnant and on bed rest. We did not have a lot of time to shop around. They lent us space heaters to use, and they had our furnace replaced and working within a week. They generally respond to maintenance calls within 24 hours. We have been very happy with them.

He responded very quickly and got the work done fast. He showed me what the problem was. He showed me the price before he began. He was just honest with what was going on. It was a smooth transaction.

They are excellent. They respond very quickly and they have been easy to deal with. They will call ahead of time. They don't expect you to sit and wait for them.

Heater was fixed after 3 visits by Lee AC. We thought the first visit should have found the problem. In addition, the small part cost almost $200, really outrageous as it was not a complicated piece.

I like the fact that this company is an authorized dealer in this type of generator. They came out right away, answered my questions and explained what the problem was. They also have a service plan that is really reasonable. For one hundred seventy nine dollars they will come out twice a year to maintain the generator and if something goes wrong in between that time, then you are covered.

They had to come out a few times, but they did end of fixing the problem to my satisfaction. I am happy with the overall service, but I was a little disappointed that I had to wait for the part. I would use them again and I am satisfied. I think they were truthful about things.

Very well. Both times the technicians were prompt, through, and quick. Work done and suggestions were well explained verbally and in writing. I will sign on for another year.

They were prompt, professional, and left the house neat. There was a misunderstanding about who would repair the sheet rock that was affected when the return was moved. I thought they were going to repair it, he thought I said the people we were going to use in the next month to do a small remodeling project were going to repair the sheet rock. Also, the return wasn't what I expected. I moved it to gain room in the closet and it actually made the closet space smaller. When I talked to them they were responsive and have promised to reduce the returns size. I agreed to have our re-modelers repair the sheet rock. The salesman and I agreed that we hadn't discussed the work thoroughly enough.

WE HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES. THEIR WORK HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD. THEY GAVE US A TIME FRAME AND FINISHED RIGHT ON TIME WITH NO PROBLEMS. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, AND WE WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

THERE HASN'T BEEN A PROBLEM WITH OUR HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER. WHENEVER WE HAVE AN ISSUE, THEY CALL OR COME OUT RIGHT AWAY. THEY ARE VERY ORDERLY WHEN THEY DO THEIR WORK. THEY SEEM TO BE ALWAYS ON SCHEDULE.
