I am very pleased with the work done. Kiefer Landscaping installed a circular paver driveway in front of my house. Due to having to remove a concrete patio that was much thicker than normal and due to needing to add a drain that was not originally planned the cost of the project was higher than bid, but the company negotiated on the additional cost and I ended up paying $7,000 over the original estimate for a total cost of $20,000. They did a beautiful job and now that about 5 years have passed there is no sign of settling, which means the foundation they installed was high quality. My only concern was the increased price due to the additional work. I suggest that you make it clear up front that you want to negotiate on the cost of any additional work that may be needed once the project is started, rather than being hit with a large bill you didn't expect. Kiefer Landscaping does very high quality work and I have no reservations in recommending them.

They were one of the few that turned it around really quickly. They were the ones who were ridiculously high since they quoted me about $8829.30 for the irrigation system and $4300 for the landscaping. Their quickness on the turnaround stood out to me. The guy was professional and talked about the types of materials to be used. He told me about the overall requirement of what needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable about the types of plants. I was just very surprised about the price compared to the other ones that I received today. The design that the guy sent back was something that was very usable and maintenance friendly. Overall, I was fine with the landscaping quote. I just haven’t pulled the trigger on any of them yet. Based on my knowledge about them and checking with my neighbors, I feel that overall they will definitely do a good job. However, you may have to pay a little bit more for it and it would be a little bit more in the case of irrigation. Their quote for landscaping is average based on everything else that I have received. I wouldn’t contact them again.

They were reasonably prompt in scheduling the installation, and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. I would have them back.

The service was good, the work was good. They amount that they billed be was 30% to 40% higher than what they quoted me.

Mark came to work up an estimate for replacing the failing bed in early Oct. Wrote check for half the estimate 11/20. Work was scheduled for December. Bad weather and the company's 2-week holiday break put off the work until late January. As the work was not urgent, no biggie. Mark kept me up to date on the delay via email. The crew arrived with mini-backhoe, etc, and got to work. When they discovered the old drain problem, they just incorporated that into the work plan and kept going. Drainage along that spot has been an issue. Glad it is better. There are more old landscape timers around our property that are failing. We plan to have these folks fix them too, as we can.

Mark Kiefer provided a detailed estimate and delivered beyond our expectations. While it was expensive, the long-term enjoyment and value made it well worth the cost. Their work will also improve draining and erosion around the house and in the yard. Mark and his crew transformed our sloping backyard and poorly landscaped side yards into a beautiful setting, using a variety of drought- and deer-resistant plants with varying flowering seasons. He was easy to work with, always responsive and took a great deal of time explaining the care for each plant. We wanted something low maintenance but nice, and believe we now have that. Placing the fieldstones was difficult work, not something we ever could have done, but his crew worked quickly yet carefully to place the fieldstones. If you're thinking about landscaping/hardscaping for your home, you will be very pleased with Kiefer's work.

We are in the process of deciding which company to go with. They had a good strong design, a good understanding of native plants and have their own nursery.

I am very pleased with the finished product. My only complaints were that the final cost was significantly higher than the quoted price and they nailed a plastic sheet to my house to protect the windows and left the nail holes. To their credit we negotiated on the price and reached an amount agreeable to both sides and they repaired the nail hole damage. This was a major landscaping job and overall I was very pleased with the work. They knew how to prepare the foundation to avoid settling. The work was done over two years ago and today it looks as good as it did the day they completed the project. I would highly recommend them but make sure that the cost of any add-ons is agreed to up front.

Very high quality job. We have had vole infestation for over 10 years. Mark was the only one of the three landscapers who knew how to handle such an infestation, i.e., using a soil conditioner called Permatill. Very helpful and clear instructions for watering each plant accompanied his invoice. Work was done on schedule.

I selected Kiefer to provide an estimate for my project after reading glowing Angie's List referrals. I sent two emails - one at the direction of the receptionist who said she would make sure it got to the owner. I called at least twice more to confirm receipt of my email and to question when I should expect the estimate. The last call ended with a promise to contact me by the end of the day. Several days have now passed with no return call. After this experience, I would not trust Kiefer to do my landscaping project.

They were quick to come out to our home. Designing the plan took longer than expected, and I had to make several phone calls. I really like the design though; they recommend unusual plants and are very knowledgeable. The design is creative and solves the problems we wanted. They did seem to overshoot our budget, though they do give landscaping clients a discount on plants they sell in their nursery.

I love Kiefer Landscaping, they done wonderful job on my landscape. This isn't the first job they did for me as it started with two smaller jobs and blossomed into this huge job. I would definitely recommend their services to others.

I had to call several times or go to there location to get a response to relatively simple questions about types of plantings, time frame, etc. They are very knowledgeable. I was impressed w/ the owner and other employees. They used a lot of texture and creativity in my yard-rocks, boulders, grasses-beautiful. Did entire job in 1 day-just took a long time to get to it and answer questions before they started. They are expensive though. Try to catch them when they aren't busy. Get a definite time frame on start date.
