We called Cole Roofing after a friend's recommendation for help diagnosing a leak into an upstairs bedroom. My husband called Cole Roofing (both listed phone numbers) and left a message. A couple of days later, we tried to call both numbers again. As a final push, we called both numbers again, put an inquiry through the Cole website form and sent Cole Roofing a Facebook message. We have yet to be contacted. I'm very disapointed because we live in Durham and wanted to use a local roofing company. I'm assuming we didn't receive a call back because our issue didn't sound extensive enough to justify their time. Too bad, because now we are receiving estimates for a full roof replacement. We have a 3000+ sqft home, so I'd say it is going to be worth someone's time.

The quote was submitted in a timely manner. Scheduling of the work was stretched out a little, Greg promised the work in 10 days and it took 26 days. Once the roofing began, it was done in a timely manner. Greg's subs, although had a hard time communicating with us due to a language barrier, were professional and nice. They did good work. Problem – Greg did not manage the job and was rarely around. Out of the two days for the roof he was at the job no more than 30 minutes. The siding work was never completed and I got a red light warranty. The red taillights of his truck leaving the driveway with my check. He promised that he always did good work and finished what he started. I paid him for the roof and he never returned for the siding work. During a few e-mails after the roof replacement, his tone was unprofessional. I hired another contract to finish the siding job several months later. It appeared that he is just a middle man for his subs. Whenever I had questions or issues with the work, he had to refer to his subs. I would never use him again.

Excellent experience. They brought a big enough crew to do the entire project in one day. Outstanding workmanship. Great job at cleanup. Price was well below the average of other bids. Overall very satisfied.

Roof replacement was performed quickly, in less than one day. The surrounding yard was cleaned of all debris. The price was the lowest of all the quotes we received. Excellent work overall.

Although there was a language barrier, we did not find this to be a problem. The workers knew exactly what they needed to do for this job and did it wonderfully. I can't say enough about how pleased I was with this company!

After filling out online contact details, asking for an inspection and an estimate on the cost of a new roof, the company emailed us on May 22nd to ask if they could inspect the property "tomorrow, between noon and 1pm" but they didn't show up and they didn't offer any explanation or try to make an alternate appointment.

Our house was due for a new roof and chose Cole Roofing after good recommendations from several neighbors, high rating on Angie's list and competitive pricing. Cole Roofing was very responsive all the way from the initial phone call throughout the job completion. I did have a lot of questions prior to the work, and Greg was always very responsive. The crew showed up on time, were very through with the install and cleanup. We have a new roof with architecture shingles, we are very pleased with the work. I highly recommend Cole Roofing and will be calling them again, as they also do gutters, painting and window replacement.

We were very pleased with everything in working with Greg Cole from the initial estimate through the replacement of our roof to the followup. We had discovered issues with a roof leak after a significant early fall rainstorm. We called several companies and secured estimates from two. Greg Cole was the most responsive and gave us a significantly better bid for the job (more than $1000 less than another well known roofing business in the area, for the exact same labor and materials). He scheduled the work for us very fast, keeping an eye on the upcoming forecast and recognizing more rain was coming. His crew arrived at our home at about 8:00 am. on a Saturday morning and completed the work before noon. The roof was stripped and some small repairs made to some deteriorating wood underneath, and then replaced with architectural shingles.The new roof looked great, and more importantly, we have had no issues or problems since in terms of leaks, etc. After a recent snow/ice storm, Greg even wrote to follow up to make sure we were in good shape. There was only one small problem during the process--one of our gutters was pulled away and bent slightly by the crew's ladders and tarps. Greg sent someone back immediately to fix it, but during the aforementioned ice storm, it pulled away again. It took a couple of days, but Greg again sent someone back to address the problem. Never any question that he was going to stand by his work and make sure we were fully satisfied. This was our first experience with having to replace a roof, and obviously you hear horror stories about the cost, problems with contractors, etc. We had zero worries with this process and have highly recommended Greg to others since our job was complete.

I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and quality of Cole Roofing and Construction. They were able to schedule in the time frame I needed and completed the work in one day. Mr. Cole also brought me samples of all of the shingles I could choose from and was not pushy while I made my decision. They cleaned up around the house and left absolutely no trash or debris after completing the job. I was highly impressed with how they left my home. The roof looks great and has no leaks or issues two months after installation. Greg also emailed me after a big ice/snow storm to make sure there were no issues from the weather. I would absolutely recommend them for future roofing needs and will explore their other services in the future.

We had a leak in the roof and he repaired it. He replaced what had been damaged in a storm. The owner of the company came to the house several times just to make sure the employees were doing a good job and that we were satisfied.

We returned home from an out of town trip to find that heavy rains had caused the roof to leak and damage the bedroom ceiling. We call Greg who came out immediately. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rains, there was nothing the company could do to fix the roof until the rains stopped. The rain paused for a few hours a couple of days later and Greg had his crew out and the roof replaced within hours before the rain began again. The site was completely cleaned up when the crew left. That night, a bad odor developed in the house which began to make us sick. It was coming from the attic. We talked with someone at Cole's who said it can take a few days to air out sometimes. The smell got worse. We thought it might be a gas leak but the gas company checked and said it was not. The smell continued. We contacted Greg who said he had never had a roof smell like this so he was going to call the manufacturers representative. The representative was going to come out and inspect the roof, when a second visit from the gas company revealed a gas leak. Once the gas leak was fixed the odor disappeared. KUDOS to both Greg at Cole's and the manufacturer representative of the roofing product who both stayed with us after installation to address the issues and concerns we were having. We are happy to state again that it was not their product which created the problem and we are very happy with the service we received.

Cole Roofing replaced the roof two years ago on a house that we purchased last year. Both sides of a cathedral ceiling developed water stains about five weeks ago. Numerous phone calls and emails went unanswered for two weeks before an email came in from someone in his office saying that the roofer who did the work (Greg Cole must sub out the actual work) was asked to come out to see what is happening. No one ever came out and Cole Roofing once again does not respond to my calls or emails. I now give up and will now contact a different roofer (with the help of Angie's List) but feel that Greg Cole's failure to response is highly unprofessional and warrants this review.

Greg came out to do an estimate the next day and really listened to every detail of what I wanted done. I was very specific and he gave great advice on what could be done and what materials he recommended. The whole crew was great - very hardworking, thorough, polite, respectful of my property and responsive when modifications were requested. I emailed Greg regularly with questions and minor requests and he always responded promptly and went the extra mile to make sure all of my concerns and requests were addressed. I am very pleased with the work and the whole experience of working with Cole Roofing and Construction.

Greg Cole was responsive and punctual for estimate (April 24) Received written estimate for property #1 (April 28) and property #2 (April 30) Revised estimate for property #2 (May 1) Agreed upon scope of work and estimate on both properties (May 5) Gutter installed property #2 (May 7) - gutter appears to have been installed properly but debris was left in yard (nails, sharp metal scraps). Greg reports the gutter guards have been ordered and should arrive in a few days. No communication from Cole (May 8 - May 27) Worker shows up at property #2 without warning (no call or previously agreed upon date/time) to install gutter guards. (May 28) Complain to Greg about long lapse in communication and failure to arrange mutually agreeable date/time for installation (May 28) Greg apologizes and offers explanation (May 29) Confirmation of scope of work and schedule for property #1 (May 31 - June 2) Greg communicates effectively about bringing foreman by to review scope of work, rain delays, etc. (June 3 - 8) Siding and trim installed (June 9), though some siding was installed in an area we hadn't previously discussed. Complained to Greg that some siding and trim that we discussed still needed to be replaced. (June 10) Negotiations about what remains unfinished (June 12 - June 27). It took approx two weeks in part because we were out of town on vacation and in part because Greg and I disagreed about what remained unfinished. Also received an email from someone in Greg's office that I found to be rude and unprofessional. Workers returned to replace the remainder of the bad siding. Disagreement with Greg about one rotten corner board that we had previously agreed needed to be replaced. He claimed it wasn't rotten and did not need to be replaced. I stuck my knife in the bottom of it and showed him how it crumbled. He once again agreed to replace it. Further shook my confidence in the company. Repairs all complete and invoice received (July 2) To Greg's credit he would not accept additional payment for the additional siding that they installed, which was a considerable amount. My frustration and loss of confidence primarily stemmed from inconsistent communication, and the amount of effort it required to get the scope of work completed.

Provider did not make any effort to respond to my request for an estimate! Too busy?

We requested an estimate from Cole Roofing for roof repairs. Greg Cole responded promptly and gave us an estimate. After contacting another roofer we decided to have Cole Roofing do the job. They arrived on time, completed the work it in one day, and cleaned up their debris afterwards. Greg Cole was professional to work with and we're happy we went with this company.

The entire process went great. I bought an Angie's List coupon based on a 2,000 s.f. roof. Our roof is larger, but Mr. Cole extended the same price per square foot to the rest of the roof. I got 2 other estimates, both of which came in much higher. Greg Cole came to the house and explained everything clearly and answered all my questions patiently. The work was completed in one day. The crew was careful to protect my plants and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. The new roof looks great and has withstood severe storms in the weeks following.

When I asked for a roof quote, the owner Greg came out timely and provided a quote to replace the roof. I got two other proposals and his quote was much better than the other two based on the same roofing materials and scope of work. We had a hard time deciding on the color of shingle to use so Greg brought some other samples for us to look at. That was helpful in deciding which color to use. Greg was flexible in scheduling the work. This was helpful because my wife needed to leave the house so our daughter could take her nap. The crew arrived at 7:30 and tarped all of my shrubs. They were finished by about 2pm that day. When I got home the site was cleaned up and the new roof looked good. I did find a few nails and pieces of trash around the yard but overall the yard was pretty clean. Overall, I am very pleased with the service and quality of work

I would just give him a straight A. I got him straight off Angie's List. They were great. They came out very promptly and gave me an estimate. I called them and said I would be traveling soon and asked what we should do about the schedule and then he said, "Okay, I will be there on Monday." They can't be any better than that. They worked for two days and cleaned up everything including my arctic. I need them I would sure use them again.

I asked for gutters, gutter guards, and a consult to review needs specific to this home (e.g, size of gutter, types of gutter guards, techniques to avoid downspouts begin clogged with sweetgum balls, forest debris) and an assessment for ensuring water runoff would not add to a drainage issue with the yard which floods in areas. I also asked to consult for roof extensions over three entrances to the home, to enlarge dry areas while fumbling at the door with keys in a downpour. The owner was not interested in completing an assessment or offering advice on how to work with the unique situation of the yard/home site. He sent one guy over to measure house (while I was not there), sent a quote, and then a man who does not speak English arrived to start the job. Soon I realized I was not being understood, called the owner, who noted he didn't have the information for my quote just then and couldn't speak about it. He also said he was too busy to come to every job (even this one as it was tanking). I asked the worker to replace my old gutters and leave. He did not. He continued putting up new gutters. I have no gutter guards, no information about appropriate drainage (the Spanish-speaking worker lay a drainage pipe over top of the walk to my front porch, requiring me/guests to step over a white drainage pipe to access the front steps. Very poor communicator, arrogant, and not willing to share all the years of expert knowledge he claims, and no doubt does have. I had wished for a personal assessment/consultation so I was fully informed about options, had input on best choices, and an accurate detailed estimate prior to start of work. I got none of these but I did get lots of impatient, insulting and contradictory communication. I'm about to install gutters on my parents home and my rental units, and I will not use this company. Very disappointing- no doubt he could have helped me learn about the best gutter and drainage choices for my home and yard, but he was too busy and not interested in obtaining my satisfaction- just wanted me to accept the gutters he sent and pay his bill.

This is the second year I have hired this company. Last year they replaced facia and guttering that had rotted boards to the frame where a tree had left damage as it pulled away the guttering. This year I hired them back for maintenance of window trim, facia and replacement of some fiberboard siding. During this visit they noticed exposure of the frame and sub-frame which has existed since the home was first built 20 years ago. I will be hiring them back to complete the newly uncovered reason that kept rotting out the facia board, after having replaced it twice in four years.

I own a few homes, and I have experienced, first hand, that finding good contractors is quite difficult. You want work that is priced competitively (not necessarily the cheapest) and work that is completed with quality. I believe I have found this with Cole Roofing. I had decided to install a medium sized solar array on my house (6 kW), and my roof, which was original to the house (1996) was showing signs that it needed replacing. It made sense to replace the roof before getting the solar panels. I haven't had spectacular luck with Angie's list, but decided to give this one more try. I generally know what to expect with the cost of repairs, and I had it in my mind that a figure around $5k would be appropriate for what I wanted. Cole Roofing came in under that (it ended up being more, as I added some premium options like the metal roofing over a section of the house), and was very happy with his responsiveness to my emails and phone calls. On top of it, he knew that I was dealing with a lot of aggravation with my HOA regarding the solar panels, and we went back and forth over color and install dates. My install happened within a couple of weeks of my approval. I was shocked at how fast and efficient his crews are. He had a crew come in early in the morning (I was still in the shower) tearing off the roof. I think they had an entirely new roof installed by 3PM. I have multiple roof lines, so it wasn't the simplest job. There was a delay in getting my metal roof installed, but this was apparently the suppliers fault (they lose my order). The metal roof section was installed a couple of weeks later, and it looks great. Quite unintentionally, I did pull 2 other quotes from other installers. I was getting windows replaced, and my solar guys also do roofs, and their quotes were 2-3k more expensive than Cole Roofing. So I can confirm that he is very cost effective. He also gave competitive quotes for window replacements and exterior painting. So, I guess the ultimate compliment you can give a company is repeat business. If I needed to have roofs replaced on any of my other properties, I would be going directly to him. I will also be recommending him to our neighbors. I am not the easiest person to always deal with, so I found him to be very patient.

We had a tree fall on our deck damaging the roof and screens in porch. We had heard great things about Cole Roofing and contacted them for quote. They came in a very timely manner and gave us an accurate quote. Mr. Cole is incredibly responsive to emails. When the time came for the work to be done, they were timely. The crew did a fantastic job finishing the job (looks just like new). They also did a great job cleaning up. HIghly recommend!

Cole Roofing replaced the roof on my house last year after I purchased it. The house had a roof with shingles with a material defect, leaking after only 7 years. Greg helped me deal with uncooperative sellers by showing them the nature of the defect as an expert. His crew then came and did an excellent job replacing the roof. I recommend Cole Roofing & Construction to all my clients because of their honesty, integrity, and the quality and value of what they provide at a very reasonable price! They make me look like a genius, and I recommend them to all my client for roofing and any other construction tasks I run across.

Owning several rental properties and have sold numerous others, I am constantly looking for TOP TIER contractors that I can use in my "fix and flip" real estate business. Also, as a licensed real estate broker, I frequently refer contractors that I have used not only on my personal residence; but, also on rental property. I am happy to declare that I have found my ONE AND ONLY roofing contractor in COLE ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION! First, I chanllenge anyone to name a more friendly and personable man than Greg Cole. Further, I feel his integrity is beyond question. He is the type of person that I would give my checkbook to and say " Spend what you need to spend to do things the right way; but, don't spend my money foolishly" and you could rest comfortably in knowing that he did not spend a dime more than what was needed to do the job right. For those of us that "fix and flip" on a regular basis, finding this type of contractor is INVALUABLE! Greg is always very prompt and courteous. He has consistently done what he said he would do at the agreed upon price. Greg never takes any shortcuts in perfoming his job. I feel that he instills this character into his work crews. They too are always on time, very respectful and careful with your property and TOTALLY clean up after the job is done. With the exception of coming home to a beautiful new roof, you would never know that his work crew had been to your home! I have, and will continue to refer Cole Roofing and Construction to family, friends and clients. Greg Cole is a man that stands behind his word and his work 100%.
