The above date is approximate. After one of the many ice storms we had in the area, I noticed a small leak in the dining room, and called Cole's Roofing, whom I had been very pleased with on a previous need. Mr. Cole came out the day I called to check for evidence of a leak. He was very polite, listened to my concerns, then got up on the roof to investigate. He surmised that the leak was due to the significant amount of wind we had, allowing moisture to seep in between the shingles--very minor. He commented on the good condition of the roof, and made no pressure for me to purchase anything. He suggested I monitor the situation and not to hesitate to call him should it occur again. It's been about three months, so I feel it's safe to say he was right on target with his analysis, as there have been no additional leaks.

The crew showed up on the dot at 7:15 AM. They were fast, professional and friendly. They worked steadily and were able to finish the job by 4:00 PM on the very same day. They covered adjoining areas with tarp to minimize debris on the bushes/lawn and completely swept away all evidence of the job when finished. The place might have looked cleaner than when they started! Mr. Greg Cole was on-site during the work, meeting me towards the end to report on the job. That evening, an invoice was emailed to me, completely in alignment with the contract. We met the next day to talk about the work, warranty, and hand over the check. Professional, efficient, and adaptive to the situation.

Excellent response time starting with the initial call all the way through the quote and the questions about the quote. Arrived on time and were done by 2:00 p.m. the same day. Did an excellent job protecting our flowers, shrubs, and potted plants as well as cleaning up the debris that flew off the house as they removed the old shingles. The Silver Birch CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles look sharp on our house. I'll recommend this roof to several people in my neighborhood.

Mr, Greg Cole arrived at my house on time for estimate, took me on informative tour of my roof, explained very clearly what needed to be done and why. Very detailed bid, which turned out to be the lowest price of three, was emailed promptly. Because of polar vortex weather, work needed to be postponed one day. I was notified in timely manner, and the crew showed up on time as agreed. They worked very hard, used tarps and their trailer to collect debris. I had been told that it would take one day, but the job was completed by 2:30. The job looks very good, I have not experienced any problems whatsoever. The cleanup was perfect! My deck and front yard were cleaner than when the job started. I did not choose simply on lowest price alone. I felt that Mr Cole went the extra mile to make sure that both he and I knew exactly what was to be done and why. I feel that my confidence was justified. I am delighted with my new roof, with how the job was handled in all ways, and highly recommend Cole Roofing and Construction. If i have need of this kind of service in future I will definitely use their services.

They responded to my request for quote within a few hours and were able to visit the house that day. I received a formal quote the next day. Their price was the best (received quotes from two other companies) and based on their great reviews on Angie's List we selected them to complete the work. Since the shingle color that we selected was in stock they were able to perform the work the next day! Arrived at 7:30 am and were finished by early afternoon. The roof looks great and they cleaned up all their mess.

Greg was great to work with and came up with a very reasonable solution to my problems. His workers were courteous mad friendly. They showed up on time and did the work in a reasonable amount of time, except for all the rain delays....can't blame them. I can't swear that it was great price but it was a very fair price. I would definitely do business with them again

Cole Roofing & Construction had done other work in my neighborhood and placed a professional looking placard on my mailbox. I had researched Cole Roofing & Construction with the Better Business Bureau and saw A+ Rating for this long standing Durham business since 1999. This was prior to my being a member of Angie's List. I called Mr. Cole, and scheduled an appointment for a quote. He was professional and timely for the appointment, even after I needed to reschedule due to a migraine. Greg Cole first came to my house in August when I was collecting estimate quotes regarding the roof work I needed completed. He gave me the most affordable quote over all of the companies I had contacted, and he even made some recommendations for work that may or may not be needed on my roof, as he wouldn't be able to tell until he got behind the gutter into the facia to see the problem. I could tell he knew what he was talking about when he pointed out a side of the roof where the shingles had been cut too short and had damaged the molding. No other contractor had pointed this problem out to me, and he even went further to state he'd hold off on that repair until the shingles were replaced, as the problem would occur again if just the molding was replaced. With this knowledge that other contractors just wanted to cover-up and get money for making a repair that wouldn't last, Cole Roofing & Construction won my business. Greg Cole had even made recommendations as to not hold off on making my decision to build-on or have the damage repaired more than a couple of months. I was able to budget and fit into Cole Roofing & Construction schedule as of October. The company worked around my migraine days and rain days to work me into their work schedule. Greg called me as his team were behind the gutter and noted the damage would take more extensive work for repair. I gave him my blanket approval for the extra materials, labor, and funds needed for the repair. The total amount for repair still came in less than original estimate quotes of other contractors. I am very happy with the outcome. This company did exceptional work, even finding and repairing frame damage, in addition to replacing the shingles originally cut too short and the side molding. They completed their work in one day, even with the extras that doubled or tripled their time/labor. I would definitely hire this company again and will for any of my construction or roofing needs! I apologize for posting this to Angie's List at such a late date of February 5, 2014 when the work was completed in October 2013, but I wanted to get this information online for my neighbors and continued business for this A+++++++ company . . . the migraines are finally leaving me. Hurray!!!

Cole Roofing and Construction did an excellent job! We are very happy with our new deck. It is very well constructed. The crew was detailed and polite. They did a good cleanup after construction. Mr. Cole was responsive and if I had a concern or question over anything, he'd take care of it right away. He also made a sizable donation to FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) after learning of my son's multiple life-threatening food allergies. Just a very good and honest man!

The work appears to be high-quality, and the price Mr. Cole gave us was much better than other quotes we got. Getting the intitial estimate went smoothly, but getting the work performed proved arduous. They canceled the work due to rain without telling me, and then made no effort to reschedule. It was a small job and probably low-priority for them, but the communication was only so-so. Nonetheless, I was happy and I would use them again.

Greg's crew worked quickly, quietly, and professionally. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. They responded quickly to requests to change the deck design, and rebuilt the steps at no charge when I changed my mind on how I wanted

Upon reviewing high marks on Angie's List, I emailed this company to request an estimate. Mr. Cole called within a few hours and actually showed up a few minutes earlier than the agreed upon time that same day! After briefly looking in the attic, he went up onto the roof, and returned to show me pictures (on his ipad) of the actual leaks. I know they were definitely from my roof, as I recognized the exact locations. He also pointed out signs of hail damage, but made no pressure to try to sell me a whole new roof! He gave me a quote of $150 to repair the three leaks and indicated that possibly a crew could come out that afternoon. They actually DID! We have not had a serious rain since the repair to ensure success, but I'm optimistic! So, in summary, within 24 hours of finding this company on Angie's List, the repairs were completed. I couldn't be happier!

We had some leaks in a roof valley and around the chimney flashing. I had been trying to repair the leaks with roofing tar but after several months of applying around 2 gallons of tar the leaks persisted. I called Cole Roofing first based on Angie's List Reviews. The owner Greg Cole came to the house the next day, inspected the roof and recommended the entire roof be replaced. I asked for a quote to just fix the leaking valley section, and a quote for the entire job. He emailed me back a quote of $750 to repair the valley and $6118 to replace the entire roof, including a section of EPDM rubber that was bunching up. I was happy with the price and accepted the quote by email. A few days later a large truck with a forklift delivered the CertainTeed Landmark Burnt Sienna shingles. Early the next morning 7 men came and removed all the old roofing materials and installed the new shingles and EPDM section. It took from about 8am to 6pm to finish the entire job, including the clean up. The roof is around 2500 square feet, maybe a little larger. They did not ask for any payment in advance. The next Monday Greg Cole stopped by to pick up a check for payment. I asked him for a quote for new gutter guards and he sent me a quote that night for $1185 for LeafOff guards which he recommended. About 2 weeks later they came and installed the guards which took about half a day. I was very pleased with the work and the price. I was impressed with how much they could accomplish in one day. They did a great job on the cleanup also, I found no nails or other debris afterwards. The new roof looks really nice.

We received a prompt estimate and, once we had chosen the firm, the crew was able to roof the house very promptly. They did a great job and cleaned up everything completely.

After returning from vacation, we found that shingles had blown off the peak of our roof, allowing daylight into the attic space. Although I contacted four different roofing contractors (all Angie's List A-rated), Greg Cole was the only one that recognized the underlying cause of the shingle problem and provided a proposal to fix the problem. All of the others simply wanted to cover over the problem and move on. After touring about twenty different homes that Cole Roofing has done in the recent past, my wife and I were convinced that this was the right company to work with. We scheduled the needed repair work with Greg, and his crew arrived exactly as planned, and went to work. On the first day they replaced the damaged shingle molding and fascia. On the second day, they went after the rest of the roof. Before doing any construction work, they took extra care to remove all planters and outdoor furniture from around the house. They then protected the foundation plantings, siding and windows by hanging tarps around the entire house. After removing all of the old shingles, the crew exposed the areas where rafters had been cut too short by the original builder. They then made the necessary repairs, closed up the roof, and set about putting the new shingles back on. After they were finished with the shingling, the crew raked the entire yard to make sure there was no discarded materials left behind, went over the yard at least twice with magnets to pick up any nails that might have fallen, then swept all of the sidewalks, patios and driveway. By the time they were finished at the end of the second day, we had a beautiful new roof on our house that I think looks fantastic and will serve us for many, many years to come. I would most heartily recommend Cole Roofing and Construction.

After doing such an awesome job on installing our new roof the week before, we asked Cole Roofing & Construction to install new gutters and downspouts on both the front and back of our home (the back gutters and downspouts were damaged from a tree that fell on our house). Mr. Cole gave such an affordable quote to replace the damaged back gutters that we were able to replace the front as well. His crew did an excellent job. The gutters are just so shiny and beautiful. Once again, he was responsive to our questions, needs and budget constraints. We are also talking with him about possible gutter guard options and installation at some point in the future after the installation of a new deck that was also damaged by the fallen tree. The gutters were professionally installed. They even cleaned the dirt/grime off of the portions of the house where the gutters were to be installed prior to installation as requested! Cole Roofing & Construction are both professional and politely accommodating to the customer. I highly recommend them and will use them again for future home repair needs!

A tree fell on our house causing damage to one side of our roof. Since our home was 13 years old, we decided to replace the entire roof with Architectural Shingles. Cole Roofing and Construction did a wonderful job! Mr. Cole was responsive both by phone and email. He gave us a thorough written detail of the work that would be done and helpful information about the roofing/shingles in general with his estimate. He answered all our of questions in a timely manner and was willing to provide any service we were considering in regard to installing new shingles (example: while many companies would only offer nail gun installation, he was willing to hand drive the nails if we wished for not much above his original quote. In the end, we went with nail gun installation based on a lot of internet research regarding which method was best to make our final decision). My husband said he was the only contractor who did not try to push a product on him or come across as a salesman. He simply asked want we wanted and worked with us to give us an affordable quote for the work we needed. So glad we used Angie's List to find Mr. Cole. We interviewed at least 10 or more contractors prior to checking Angie's List, and some never submitted a quote as promised, or gave quotes that was simply too high, and one even said we had a hole in the plywood under some of the shingles that were left and went as far as to staple a tarp in place ONLY to find out they were not truthful. One contractor even wanted us to go to Lowe's to buy our own shingles for him to install indicating it would be cheaper for us - - - and his quote was almost twice the amount of what Mr. Cole submitted. Mr. Cole's crew were polite, professional, highly skilled, and I must say very brave to work on a roof with such a steep pitch as ours. They continually cleaned as they worked and they left our property very clean upon completion of their work. Mr. Cole is polite, knowledgeable and professional. Very, very happy with him, his crew and their work!!!!!

I like their prompt response, quick scheduling and the cost matched the estimate. They did it when I wasn't home.

If it's 17-20 years, your house is an antique, the company that got your windows is no longer working and he said he's going to find somebody who does and we'll match it up and he did. He doesn't demand payment immediately. He's just the nicest guy as he can be. He does really good work, and does what you need. He is reasonably priced, he's friendly, does high-quality work, I couldn't ask for anything better.

Cole Roofing provided a very competitive estimate to replace my roof with 50 year shingles. They were awarded the job and once we had it scheduled, they came on time, cleaned up every day and were done according to their estimate. The guys were courteous, thoughtful and they did a great job on our roof. I was so impressed, I hired them to go to Greensboro and put a new roof on my parent's home too. I highly recommend their work. They were outstanding.

I dealt with the owner, Greg Cole. He always responded promptly to phone and email. He left me samples of roofing shingles to help me decide what to get. I asked for addresses of houses with various colors of shingles already installed so that I could drive around and see them, and he sent me a useful list. He and his people showed up when promised and cleaned up afterwards. No damage to shrubbery. Cole found that the gutter guards (installed by another company) had been installed wrong, which had caused water damage, and Cole reinstalled them properly. Cole found wood in the wall that had been damaged by that water and replaced the damaged wood. Some days after the work was complete and after I had paid him, I asked him whether a roof vent still had its screening, and he promptly came back to check on that. I didn't receive the shingle manufacturer's written warranty and contacted Cole, and the next day he brought a warranty to my house. While I did some price checking before giving the work to Cole, I don't really know whether the price was good, but the service was so good that even if Cole is somewhat higher than others, I'd go with him again.

It went very well. They were quick and thorough and it was an enjoyable experience.

I was impressed with their responsiveness to questions and explanations as I tried to sort through and decide what shingle and what company to use (e.g. trying to make an apples to apples comparison). I worked with Scott who could not have been nicer and was a great teacher about shingles, ridge vents, weather guard, depth the nails go into the shingle with a nail gun, etc. He patiently explained everything and treated me like my questions were the most important in the world. I spoke with him initially in the Spring and finally replaced the roof in October. He was always responsive to all questions and got back to me within a day or so by either email or phone call.When they finally began the roof install, the team was professional, cleaned up every day and would explain things every day. They were thorough and the roof turned out great! The shingles were 50 year and they did a terrific job on the install and clean up. It took a full 3 days, but each day the guys were on-time, worked late and were incredibly pleasant to have at the house. They even helped my neighbor with a small problem on his roof!I think Cole Roofing is one of the best companies I have worked with - they remind me what exceptional service looks like! You will not be disappointed with their workmanship, price and service.
