I didn't get them off Angie's list. I called them because when I used them 3years ago I had such a positive experience and they were not over priced like a lot of plumbers are, and so when I had an issue with my water heater this was like a week ago, I called them without any hesitation. If I like somebody. I put them on my speed dial only cell phone. But if I dont like somebody. I remember for ever.

Job went very well. Looked and worked good. Only reason price was rated a B, is because there were offers of $150 on Angie's list. I didn't research well. I believe $150 would have been a reasonable cost.

I discovered a leak in a pipe under our kitchen sink. I called Hayden and Sons Plumbing. I was called right back and an appointment scheduled for the next day. Matthew showed up on time, examined the problem and told me what it was. It was fixed in no time. I will definitely be calling them again.

It turned out to be a huge problem. He found that water had been leaking for a long time from the sub-floor plumbing and had rotted the beam under the flooring. All he could do was to remove the toilet, which he did. I gave him a couple good grades because he did a great job of finding the problem quickly, and I especially appreciated that he recommended a remodeling contractor who turned out to be fantastic. (Since the floor had to be removed, I went all the way and had most of the bathroom remodeled.) I don't recall the plumbing cost, but it was reasonable. He promised to return when the construction was completed to install the toilet and my new sink and gave me an estimate for that work. HOWEVER, when I called him later to try to schedule a time for him to return for the installations, I was shocked! He spoke with an angry tone of voice and claimed that he had NOT promised to come back and had NOT given me an estimate! When I asked him politely if he wanted the job and that I was not in a hurry, he YELLED at me saying "You're crazy!". I was completely stunned and hung up on him because I was speechless. If he did not want the job or was too busy, all he had to do was say so. I had no idea why he was angry. I was polite, pleasant, and not at all pushy. He called back approximately 30 minutes later, still with an angry tone of voice and said he was very busy but he'd try to fit me in. No apology. Nothing. I replied "no" and hung up. I never heard from them again. I DON'T recommend this company.

He came over and told me that I didn't need it but he could do it if I wanted. I told him no since I now understood that that the plumbing was arranged in a weird but acceptable way on purpose. He said he normally charges 1/2 of the service fee if he comes over and doesn't do the work but since he had other work in the area, he didn't charge me. I gladly would have paid him though. Jeff is a nice person, very knowledgeable, looks out for the customer and is trustworthy. If he did do the work, we agreed on a price up front and that was very competitive. If I ever need plumbing, I will call Jeff.

First class service! Matt is a professional who gives outstanding work. He was prompt and the price was more than fair. He's the only plumber I'll use from now on.

Matt did a great job. After removing the bad section of pipe, it was obvious that the corrosion inside the pipe had almost completely blocked it. I have had no problems since Matt's repair.

We'd been having issues with the water in our house being much hotter than normal. After several days of this, I Googled the issue and it was suggested that there could be an issue with the thermostat. Checked Angie's List for plumbers and Hayden and Sons was the first I called. Spoke with Jeff on the phone and he suggested that I lower the temp on the thermostat. When I went out the water heater to do that, I discovered a not-so-minor leak. I turned the water off, called Jeff back in a panic and he came out maybe an hour later. He replaced the old unit with a State Select water heater, had to put on the expansion tank to bring it up to code, as well as replace some valves, and seals, and hoses related to the gas and water lines. Because the tank was taller than the old one, he had to basically rebuild the vent that runs from the top of the unit to the exterior of the room. He worked alone and it took him the better part of 5 hours to complete the job. He cleaned up the floor of the storage room when he was done and took away the old water heater, the enormous empty box, etc. He walked me through how to adjust the thermostat and how to relight the pilot light. Imagine my surprise that the new water heater actually came with an instruction manual! I would not hesitate to recommend Hayden and Sons.

It's a small company, so there were a few delays in getting him to the house. My job was not an emergency. When Matt came & did the work, I was pleased. He advised me by phone about the parts I needed to select & purchase ahead of time. When he opened up the wall, we saw that it would be a much bigger job than I expected due to conditions inside the wall. Matt said he thought he could locate the replacement part for my faucet, although it was quite old. He came back another day to finish. He had the parts, installed them, tested to make sure the original problem was fixed, and made it look nicer with a new handle. I appreciate that he gave me a much less expensive option and let me decide what I wanted. I would say he gave personalized advice and explained to me what my options were. He's polite & pleasant. Cost seemed reasonable for the service. By the way, I made a panel to cover the hole in the wall myself, which was fine because now I have access if it is needed later.

The service was excellent, but paying 200.00 (not including the price of the new faucet, which we purchased), which supposedly included a Senior discount, was MUCH higher than we expected.

Not only was he on time as scheduled, he immediately determined the problem, fixed the problem, and then noticed that the shower drain had a major clog. He then took the time, although unscheduled, to unclog the shower drain. Both problems fixed expertly and quickly. He was friendly and took the time to explain what he had done and why he had done it. This was the first time I have used this company, and did so because of the great Angie's List ratings. I could not be happier and now have a reliable and expert plumber that I will use for any future issues! They fully deserve their great ratings.

I have a walkway with a drain that feeds an underground drain at the front of my house. The drain was clogged and water from heavy rain was backing up on the walkway and spilling into the crawl space vents and making the walkway impassable. They used an auger to clear the front drain, and also a drain the back of the house from the driveway. Both drains were cleared and tested and running perfectly!

They are more than fair, they are very reasonable. I like everything about them. They are personable, prompt and do what they promise. They do not overcharge.

Matthew and I played phone tag for a couple of days, but the superb service was worth the wait. He showed up as scheduled, on time and politely kept me informed of what he was doing. He was so friendly and easy-going that it was like having an old friend stop by! He also had suggestions about other small issues I was having, such as slow drains, etc. I will ONLY used Hayden and Sons Plumbing in the future, and I have suggested that my friends do the same. I requested he give me some business cards for my neighbors and friends, THAT is how wonderful he is!! AAA+++++++++ review!!!!

Matt immediately returned my call and came to the house within a couple of hours of my initial call. The exterior sewer drain pipe was clogged and water was overflowing into the yard. He worked for about two and a half hours clearing the pipe and even had to open the city clean out drain to completely remove the debris. He was very professional, friendly and has great customer service skills. We will definitely use Hayden & Sons again for any plumbing needs we may have and will highly recommend them.

Prior to showing up at the house Matthew told us to call the city water dept to see if the blockage was on their end. They came an hour later and checked it out and determined it was on the home owner end. I really appreciate that he did this because had it been a city problem it would have been free. I called him and he promptly answered the call and gave me a time he would be there and was there before that time. Matthew, had to clear out the main sewer line that was blocked. The clean out plug unfortunately was underneath the house in the crawlspace . He removed it promptly had us flush all the toilets and run sinks and told us what to listen for if it happened again. Outstanding communication from both Matthew and his Dad , could not ask for a more professional experience. Would not even hesitate calling him again for any plumbing related issue.

I called in the evening and Jeff Hayden answered. I described the problem and the type of faucet. He asked me to describe the sink and it became clear that I had a Private Label faucet and that I would need to contact the manufacturer for a replacement part. Otherwise I would have to replace the faucet whic I didn't want to do. I was able to track down the manufacturer and they replaced the part at no cost. I let Jeff know and he came out the next day to install the part. His taking the time to ask the questions saved me time and money.

Jeff Hayden was very friendly, professional, and prompt and I will definitely call on him again for future needs.
