Description of Work: Ugh. I really want to give them a good review because they were nice guys and the end result was fine, but man the process getting there was brutal. First off, there seems to be a lot of confusion and hand offs of information, which may be at the heart of the issues we had. They have a central office that you first speak with. They then pass you on to one of their field sales guys. We had Tommy, who was super nice, but technologically challenged (getting the emails to us was extremely tough). It took easily a week to get the estimate back from him and then numerous back and forths to get it to synch up with what we'd asked for. But in the end, we liked him and the price seemed fair, so we moved ahead. Tommy then told us the scheduler would be in touch with us to tell us when the team would start. I told Tommy that I was traveling and asked for a specific day for the job to begin. Well, somehow that message never made it to the scheduler, who was nice, but seemed pretty confused by the delay. Eventually we got that straightened out and the crew started work. Of course, that doesn't mean they came everyday. They would come when the weather was nice, which makes sense, but they were terrible about giving you any notice whatsoever. The weather would look fine to us, but they wouldnt show. Or it would clear up in the morning but they'd already called it off. It became a running joke with my wife where we would take bets to see if they actually showed up. And when I would call the scheduler to see what the deal was, he'd have no clue and need to call Tommy, who would call the crew. It was like a crazy game of telephone. In the end, I learned that Tommy was the only one who could give me a straight answer and actually get back to me in a timely fashion. The main office was completely useless and disinterested. Again, the crew was very nice, but not very respectful. I work from home, but they seemed to have very little regard for that. Between the salsa music blaring and banging their ladders onto my siding, it was extremely distracting. I did ask several times for them to keep it down, and they tried, but I think they just have a different sense of what constitutes "loud." I guess they're used to working without the homeowners there. Anyway, all this was mildly annoying, but what really got to us was how messy they left everything. Every night they would unwind our hose to clean their materials, then just leave it in the grass. It's not like my yard is amazing, but that's just rude. How hard is it to roll the hose back up?? And then there was always equipment laying around. The ladders were neatly stacked (though right in the middle of everything) so that wasn't terrible, but the random goggles or nails or glue guns or buckets that were scattered about were an eyesore. What really put us over the top was coming home one day to see our roses (the only nice plants we have) covered by a heavy tarp (see the attached photo). They'd done that to protect them from the paint, but when the rain came, the just left it there. For a week. In my front yard. At this point I was too exhausted to complain. I just wanted them to leave. Two more things. First, we asked them to replace some rotten boards on our porch. Again, the job got done, but it was way harder than it needed to be. First there was a delay because the boards weren't cut the right length (they had to custom fabricate them). And then when they did come in, the team was confused about how to install them. I was out of town so they tried to tell my wife that we'd have to settle for shorter boards, which wasn't our agreement. So she called me, and I called Tommy, and again it all boiled down to them being confused. Not the end of the world, but just unnecessary stress. Second, as the team was scraping and sanding the exterior, the noticed more rotten wood than was found in our initial walk through. Again, not the end of the world, but it increased our bill substantially ($1,500) and I had specifically asked for them to look for rotten boards to have an accurate estimate. In the end, the job was fine. Not spectacular, but fine. And the price wasn't bad, though the surprise expense wasn't a great experience. It could be that we're just high maintenance, and if you won't be home when they're working, you may not care. But, there's no chance we'd work with these guys again. Just too much stress and too much disrespect for our time and our home.
