Not well. I never received a quote for the repair work from the visit to my home. Had to call twice to check in on the quote. Never received a call back.

They have done several different jobs for me. We have never been displeased with them and if we were, they would come right back and please us. I am calling them again about doing my daughters room. They are reasonably priced and are the best. They were all very kind, respectful, and answered the best that they could.

Best workers-Very prompt, helpful, careful, pleasant, nice! Cleaned up after work. Work ethic tops the charts. Courteous!

Alex and his crew were always on time and very professional over the 5 day prepping and painting period. The quality of their work was excellent. My home has more than 20 paned windows, so great skill and attention to detail were displayed.

Some initial confusion on the schedule for pressure washing was quickly resolved. Crew chief Victor took personal ownership of work on "his" house and made sure we were completely satisfied.

A couple of weeks went by, I call them up and said, I never got the estimates, oh sorry about that, we'll get back. I call them up again and I never ever got an estimates at all. They are on Angie's List. A gentleman came out and spent about an hour in the house. He actually went around the outside for exterior painting then he came in and looked at all the rooms. I told him exactly what I wanted, it took him about an hour, took my email address and he said, I'll send you that quote. I patiently waited about 2 weeks, never heard back from him so I called up the company and said, look, this guy came out, do you know his name, I said no, but he is an older guy, oh so and so. I said, yeah, he never gave me a quote. They said, no problem we'll speak to him, we'll get it out to you within the next couple of days. I waited another 2 weeks and never heard from them. I called them back again and said, what is going on over there I never got the quote. Well sorry about that, we'll get it to you. Then I tried calling a couple of times after that and it was always a busy signal or just the answering machine. I certainly wouldn't use them when its that hard to get a hold of them.

It went great. Kept work area clean and were very professional. Worked 8-5 every day until job was complete. Only complaint was that pine was used rather than hardy for the outside trim.

History: Had SE paint interior of home about $2000, other than the workers not cleaning up well and getting dust everywhere from the wall repairs, the paint looks pretty good. Hired them to fix a joint issue on a ceiling near a kitchen for 340. Originally the said they typically skim coat the entire ceiling and repaint. When worker showed up he spent 4 days working on the ceiling and insisted that the A/C needed to off (July). After 4 days he said I can not fix this and he could not take a payment and that he was an independent contractor and was not going to bill South End. I felt bad and gave the guy $100 for his trouble. Within a day I got a call from South End getting screamed at cause I did not pay them and that they needed to get paid. I told them to take it up with there worker cause he gave me different information. South End said they would send on of there best guys out and they would make sure that the worker did not cash the $100 check. The top-gun guy came out and patched the ceiling up and said that it was %100 guaranteed and if there were any problems to call. After a month the crack reappeared so I called South End back, they said they would send someone else out, WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. I was very disappointing since I already spent $2000 and also referred them to one of my neighbors who used them too. During both engagements the people that showed up at the house said that "If you ever need any other work, don't bother going through South End, just call us directly" South End has still not sent anyone over even to look and re-quote or fix... NOT CONSISTENT ON CUSTOMER SERVICE "Never yell at a customer"

The main reason I contracted with this company was due to the excellent rating and reviews I read on Angie's List. My experience, however, was anything but great! The initial contact by the company when quoting was very professional. I was told the job should take approximately 2 - 3 days. The proposal detailed that "before work begins - drop cloths will be spread, all cracking, peeling and blistered areas will be properly scraped and sanded, all open cracks and joints will be caulked", etc. Considering this is about a 3500 square foot commercial facility and, based on the proposal, I expected a full crew to arrive and a group of individuals doing all those things detailed in the proposal. That is ABSOLUTELY NOT the way this job was completed! Two individuals showed up one day and pressure washed decks on the back of the facility. They returned a couple of days later to begin staining the decks but, after several hours, were called off by the company owner to go handle another job. Numerous days passed before they returned. Upon returning, they completed the decks and began painting shutters and other portions of the building. There were some decisions regarding paint color that had to be made but that was completed in a couple of days. Work still, however, wasn't completed because the owner called them off my job again and sent them to handle yet another job. Numerous days went by and I drove by the facility one morning to see an individual (ONE) (driving what looked to be a personal 4 door vehicle with the trunk open) painting the porch pickets with a ROLLER. I had to meet a potential tenant at this facility later that day and, in looking at the pickets painted, I knew we were going to have a problem. The pickets looked TERRIBLE! In looking more closely at other trim work he had also completed, I realized I could have purchased the paint myself and done just as good of job! I spoke with Carlos (one of the painters who had originally been sent out to the job) and he met me at the facility to look at the work. Carlos and I did a walk through of the facility and I pointed out a number of things I wasn't happy with (paint on ceiling from where trim was painted, the pickets looked terrible, the trim around the upstairs storage rooms looked hideous, etc.). During the walk through we also found three boards that had been painted even though it was OBVIOUS the boards were rotten and needed to be replaced. My contract also stated "if any additional carpentry work is found while job is in progress, we will notify) but that didn't happen either. The rotten boards were merely painted over. Pictures of everything were sent to the owner and Carlos advised me they would be taking care of those things on my list. I requested they (SouthEnd) send me a quote to replace the three 4 x 4 posts and that I would also get my carpenter to quote. SouthEnd quoted me $ 693 to replace two (2) 10' 4 x 4 boards and one (1) 4' 2x4!!!!!!! My carpenter completed the work for $ 168.00! It was agreed I would have they work completed myself, contact them when it was done and they would come. The carpentry work was completed the following day and I contacted SouthEnd to advise this. I requested they wait a week to return, allowing the new wood time to dry out. Weeks went by with no communication from them until I randomly received a phone call from the owner indicating the gutter persons were at the facility having difficulties with the power. I questioned him about when the painting would be completed and I was told within the next week. I then drove over to the property only to find the power was working perfectly - it was the gutter machine that wasn't! The gutters, however, did get completed later that day. From that point, there was absolutely NO communication from this company until I sent them an email on on 10/13 stating that due to their lack of follow up and communication I considered our contract null and void and that I would be contracting with another company to complete my work. At approximately 9:15 PM the night I sent my email I received a phone call from the owner saying rain had put them behind and they would be there tomorrow to complete my job. And, yes, we did have a few days of rain but about three weeks had passed with NO COMMUNICATION at all from this company. Carlos did arrive the next day and within a couple of days completed the job. I signed the agreement with this company on 7/20, they starting the job the week of 8/10 (even though I told them I would be going out of town which would cause difficulties in selecting paint colors) and the job was not completed until 10/21! It took THREE MONTHS for this job to be completed. Does the work on my property look to have been done by a large professional painting company, NO. There is trim work that still looks poor but I was told by the owner that what was stated in my proposal about caulking did not cover removing any old caulking that looked bad. My comment to that was IF, when quoting there are things the estimator identifies that need attention (such as caulking) and those things are not covered in the painting agreement, they should be identified and discussed with the consumer either in person or detailed on the quote so they may be handled before the painting job begins. I would highly recommend, at this point in time, you NOT consider using this company. It's my opinion they continue to secure jobs knowing they do not have the man power to complete them. For that reason, they're hiring subpar painters just to have "people" on the job working. The work is extremely poor, the timeliness is terrible and the owner is anything but professional in dealing with customers. On a last note - Carlos (one of the painters) is the one good thing I would have to say about this company. Carlos did his best to cover and apologize for his company's lack of follow-up and poor workmanship. I would hire Carlos as an individual painter anytime but I would NOT hire SouthEnd Painting again.

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but I feel that customers need to be aware of what they will be getting if they hire SouthEnd. Their price is quite good, which is why we hired them. We found that you definitely "get what you pay for". The initial assessor who came to the home to provide an estimate, failed to give a thorough description of the work we wanted done to the rest of the team. Therefore, when the team came to begin painting (which was a day later than scheduled), we had to go over everything a second time. They did very little prep to protect floors or window pains. We had paint specks EVERYWHERE which took several days of our cleaning after the job was complete. The initial team did no sanding of old peeling paint, until we followed up and let them know that we expected it. They did no caulking or repair of dings or holes in the walls. Overall it seemed that they were trying to do the job with as little effort and as quickly as possible. They did not go to the edges when painting stair risers or walls, if they were relatively the same color, hence you could see a faint difference at the edges. One room got painted the wrong color. They used something else just because it was on hand. The owner was responsive to our concerns in that he came to the home to discuss our complaints. He had his lead painter come along and proceeded to yell at him in front of us. He assured us that he would put his best painter on the job and that he would be the only one to complete the job. However, while we were away our house sitter informed us that several painters showed up to do the work. Finally, the company chose to paint over oil paint with latex without asking or getting our okay. The owner came back out at the end of the job to address our dissatisfaction. He assured us that he would repair everything with which we were unhappy. Unfortunately, by this point we had lost all trust in this company's abilities. We are now going to hire another company to come in and fix the damage.

They were fast and efficient and quiet.

The painters did a great job. There was some initial miscommunication regarding the estimate but everything got straightened out. We did not like the first color we picked and they repainted at a great price.
