Still waiting on them to actually do the work.

Someone came to provide a quote. He inspected the areas to repair and paint and promised a quote ASAP since we had sold our home and need the work done within 3 weeks to prepare for the final home inspection on day of closing. No one called back with a quote. One week before the work was to be completed, someone called to ask where we stood on the project. When I explained when the work needed to be completed and that I hadn't heard back from anyone, he apologized and said the timeframe was too short for them to get anyone to do the work.

They were on-time very clean and did an excellent job on the project.

These guys are responsive, do a great job and stand behind their work. They charge a reasonable price. I got their services on an Angie's List Deal. I give them an A+

The job was delayed by once day due to the company not scheduling accordingly but came meet day worked 14 hrs till job done.

The paint Crew was exceptional, they kept things clean and worked very hard to keep things in order. Very friendly and polite, great crew!

Terrible communication. Sent in the signed agreement, two weeks later had to follow up as no one ever called. Work was scheduled and done. We were to have a new door painted and it had not yet arrived. We agreed with the painter to come out and fix a few touch ups and paint door when it arrived. One week ago, we got a call and they asked if they could come and finish up on Wednesday, we agreed. My husband waited all day, no one showed and no one called. I called and got the recorder, left message no one responded. My husband called Tuesday night, and spoke to Tom and was told they would be out today at noon. It is now 1:2, no painter, no phone call. I have again called their office and left a message.

Excellent. They were professional, scheduled the work quickly, started on time and finished within four days. The quality of work was very high.

Everything went very well. They came when they said they would. There were some issues with the exterior painting, but the company came out and fixed everything.

The entire process was smooth and the end result was great, as my trim looks terrific. All appointments and timelines were met or exceeded. And the associates I dealt with were friendly and professional. I would definitely use them again.

The three men who performed the painting operation were very good. They had two colors to use. They were very good. I saw only a very few places which needed a little touching and they went straight to the spots and fixed them. They were respectful.

The crew was on time each day. They made sure I was happy with the work frequently. They were very careful to keep everything as clear as possible.

The crew was excellence in their work and demeanor I will hire again.

My rating is so low on professionalism because there was a lot of bait-and-switch going on. I am the president of a COA and we were having some units painted. The original eyeball estimate for rotten wood replacement was $1,000 to $2,000. The actual amount, after we hired them, was $11,335. That is a huge difference. We (the board) struggled with what to do, but eventually agreed to have them do the wood replacement for $10,335. After that, they submitted a bill for $11,335 to the property manager for payment without copying me. This just continued the cycle of distrust. It was just very frustrating because we solicited bids before the work started and made decisions based on submitted bids. Then after work was started, an extra $10,000 was added based of the rotten wood in need of replacement. The original bid for all of the work was less than $10,000, so adding $10,000 was a big negative surprise. But they had already started doing work, so it would have cost us money if we asked them to stop and we would have had a huge project delay. So none of that made me or the other board members ever feel good about the process. On the bright side, the actual painter (Alfredo) and his crew did a great job on painting, replacing wood, and keeping me in the loop. But Alfredo and crew were not the ones associated with the financial issues above, as that was the owner and another person.

We have been working on a fixer upper for a couple years now and overall, this is one of the worst experiences I have had as far as frustrating and stressful go. We had a date on the books a couple weeks out and I received a call that they wanted to come out on a Thursday and Friday about a week early instead to knock it out. I said fine, but I did have to schedule to work at home because our nanny was there that week with the babies and she didn't feel comfortable being there alone with the workers. Thursday, the workers came out and said they were going to pressure wash. I look out about an hour later and they are just gone - without saying anything to me. I call the guy who scheduled the job and he said their pressure washer is broken and they are coming back Friday morning. Friday morning rolls around and the guy is late. He is there for a little while and then tells me the pressure washer is broken again and he has to go get another one. He then comes back that afternoon and once again the pressure washer is broken! I am truly at a loss as to what is going on. Finally he comes out on Saturday morning (shows up about 2 hours later than the latest he said he would - after I rearranged my WHOLE morning - and no one of the companies phone numbers I called ever answered) and the pressure washer actually works so he pressure washes the deck. Then I don't hear about when they are coming back to actually paint the deck, so I contact my scheduler who tells me they will come out Tuesday. I had already taken 2 days working from home the week before when I thought they were doing this project so I could not stay at home another day to be there while they painted. I told them to call me if there were any issues. I get a frustrated call from Gustavo saying that there is no power on the deck (a fact I already knew... and no had told me they needed power... the contract says they use rollers and brushes). I tell him there is no power outside and I can't leave work right now so I'm not sure what he wants me to do, but that he might just have to use rollers as there is no power. He says okay and then calls me multiple times again throughout the day so frustrated and saying he needs to get the job done, but there is NOTHING I can do for him. I am at work and he just keeps calling and yelling at me that he needs power. If the company needs something, they need to tell people before hand - it is pretty common to not have power outlets on the outside of a 1936 house and I certainly didn't appreciate the unprofessional yelling that was happening with me over the phone. Finally, I guess he went and asked a neighbor for power. Overall, the job is fine, but does not look great. I had hoped to use this company to paint the outside of the house and prepare for selling, but after this awful and frustrating experience I would not recommend that this company be used.

I still can't get over how pleased I am with this project. I have used many contractors on many houses and SouthEnd Painting was extremely professional from start to finish. Our current house is a 1989 and had not been maintained very well through the years, so we needed quite a bit of carpentry work (reason for the higher project amount, $1500 in carpentry/wood repair). There were many areas of rot on the boards all around the house. The painter found an exact match to the current wood siding. Of the 3-day job, 1 1/2 days were spent on prep and repairs. I have seen other houses being painted in the neighborhood and none were prepped like ours. Every window and exterior fixture was covered before painting. When the exterior shutters were removed, it was obvious that no previous painter had done this before because we could see multiple paint colors underneath from previous owners. They washed and cleaned the shutters before replacing them. I got 2 other estimates before SouthEnd. Both were higher estimates and didn't plan to do as much. SouthEnd caulked every nail hole on every board before painting. I wanted to make sure that there would be no future issues with the existing boards. I would definitely hire again for any additional work and future work painting the interior. I admire my own house every time I come home.

I would NOT recommend this company to my friends or family. Overall, they were not very professional at all, e. G. delayed email responses, did not follow up when I asked questions via email (e. G. can I pay in 2 installments). The overall paint job itself- painting the walls and baseboards were good quality work. However, overall they failed miserably in many areas: 1. No ?supervisor? or prior contact from south End was present at the beginning or end of the job (it took one full day). Just the 3-man painting crew. 2. The lead of the crew that showed up did not even know what was supposed to be painted and what was not. I had to walk him thru the whole thing again (which I went over with their sales person beforehand). 3. Did not do anything above and beyond: e. G. cobwebs in high corners remained after the job. ?Dust bunnies? behind the fridge were still there after they left. Pieces of trim which were in rooms they were painting were not touched as it was not ?baseboard?. 4. Probably the worst part-they left my house in a MESSI I took several photos of the mess. In short: a. Did not put back all that could be put back in place b. Dust (drywall and other) on all surfaces c. Paint footprints in several areas of my hardwood and outside my back door d. Paint smudges and drops on my faucet, side of the fridge, on several surfaces. 5. When leaving, they tried to get me to sign the (this) Angie?s list and another ?review? sheet-basically as a blank signature, which I imagine could be filled in later on with whatever they wanted. I refused and kept the Angie?s list sheet to fill out myself and send in via mall. 6. Last, but not least-tried to tack on an extra 8% charge to my signed estimate. This was labeled as ?NC labor law? or something like that. I refused to pay that and just paid (in full) my signed original estimate I hope this review helps someone else.
