About us

One of the most experienced Appliance Technicians in Charlotte, NC with 30 plus full time years of carrying a tool box. I started watching over my father’s shoulder when I was 12. Piedmont Appliance Service was opened by my father in 1962, after working as a service manager for General Electric Appliances. In the course of 50 years of business, we have serviced and sold Kitchenaid, Hotpoint, and Maytag brand appliances. In the mid 1970’s, we decided only to service and repair appliances. I have been trained by Bosch, General Electric, Fisher & Paykel, Jenn-air, Kitchenaid, Maytag, Thermador, Uline, and Whirlpool. Description of Work: Checked why washer was leaking. He found it was a clogged drain and not the washer so he recommended Roto-Rooter. There was no charge for the visit. He was very friendly and helpful! Thanks, Glenn!

Description of Work: I have been trying to schedule a time for Glen to come and look at my microwave for 3 weeks. When I first reached out to him he told me his wife was having eye surgery so I suggested the next week for an appointment. Glen then told me that his wife was having the other eye done the following week. I suggested he call me back when the operations were over but I never received a call. I called him back and he agreed to come to my house on Wednesday 8/12 at 4pm. I tried to reach him by phone to confirm the appointment but all I could get was a busy signal. I then called his answering service and asked if they could contact him. They told me they would let him know that I had called. I waited for a callback and an apology all day on Thursday but I received nothing. I called his number and got the constant busy and then called the answering service to see if they had contacted him. They said they had and figured that Glen had called me to correct the situation. I said no Glen had not contacted me and that if he didn't by the end of the day I would be writing up my report on his service for Angie's List. I never did receive a call from him but I did receive the following text on my phone "This is Piedmont Appliance Svc. Family problems. Go ahead and make your scathing report. I will not do work for you." |I had texted Glen the day before to see if we were still on for the appointment before I left work. I figured since he didn't text back that he didn't have a phone with that capability but that is not the case as you can see he didn't hesitate to contact me by text after standing me up and never calling. I would suggest you take him off your list for good.

been beaten up before, will probably be beat up again. People forget things sometimes, especially with the background noise of life. Sometimes there is not enough of me to go around. This however is not an apology to this member. The fastest way to loose all contact with me is to threaten a "scathing report" on Angies List. If you think I would risk going to this members house after such a threat, you would be mistaken. Only God knows what I would be accused of. It should be evident that this member should never attempt to contact me again, as no response would be forthcoming. As for being taken off the list, should this one incident be sufficient to accomplish that, then so be it. The only thing hurt here was this members pride

Description of Work: My Bosch washer had stopped working properly, so I called Piedmont Appliance Service, which is factory authorized to work on Bosch appliances. He arrived on time, did some diagnostics, checked out a few things, and solved the problem. Along the way, he gave me some tips for getting the most out of my washer, as well as some of my other appliances. There was no charge beyond the basic service call charge. I have now found my go-to appliance service person.

I dont have a record of doing any work for this person. If the B rating was based solely on my not servicing Dacor, then this review is pointless. If you ask a Mercedes dealer to work on your Yugo, dont ding the poor guy because he was honest enough to decline. Nobody can work on everything.

The price we paid was the co-pay on our homeowners warranty. Not sure how much it would have cost otherwise. The warranty co. ended up replacing the microwave entirely.

GLEN CAME OUT, ASSESSED THE PROBLEM AND ORDERED THE PARTS FOR US IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER. HE KEPT US POSTED ON THE PROGRESS FOR HIS RECEIPT OF THE PARTS. ARRIVED AT THE SPECIFIED TIMES AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. WORK WAS COMPLETED QUICKLY AND CLEANLY. WE WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM RECOMMENDING HIM.

OUR WASHER HAD STOPPED AGITATING, SO WE CALLED A FEW REPAIR PLACES. MOST WOULDN'T COMMIT TO A TIME THAT THEY COULD STOP BY TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I CALLED PIEDMONT MOBILE APPLIANCE, AND GLENN, THE OWNER, AGREED TO COME OUT THE NEXT DAY (A SATURDAY.) HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS, AND BY MY DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM, HE GUESSED THAT IT WAS THE MOTOR COUPLER AND ESTIMATED A COST OF $92. GLENN WAS RIGHT ON TIME AND WAS VERY POLITE. THE PROBLEM WAS IN FACT THE MOTOR COUPLER AND HE FIXED THE PROBLEM IN A HALF HOUR. THE COST WAS RIGHT WHAT HE HAD SAID IT WAS AND WE WOULD DEFINITELY USE HIM AGAIN. IT IS SO RARE TO FIND THIS TYPE OF EXPERIENCE WITH REPAIR COMPANIES.

HE CAME IN AND TOOK IT APART AND FOUND A PIECE OF WIRE THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. HE REMOVED IT AND THEN RAN THE DISHWASHER THROUGH A WHOLE CYCLE TO MAKE SURE IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY BEFORE HE LEFT. HE IS VERY PROMPT AND AFFORDABLE. HE WAS HERE ON TIME AND WAS THOROUGH. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE HIM AGAIN.
