Owens Chimney Systems

I received a prompt initial visit, with a written estimate for the work and a thorough explanation for suggested work. Came at the time and on the day scheduled for the repair. David Hixson was friendly, knowledgeable and professional . When Mr. Hixson came to inspect the chimney he made a n adjustment in the existing cover that stopped the chimney leak until the permanent repair could be made. Kudos.

Owens Chimney Services was prompt courteous and very professional. Taylor was our tech. He shared pictures of the wash splay, flue and smoke chamber and reviewed several safety concerns as well as factors that effect the performance that effect our chimney. We have wanted to have a chimney cap installed and he happened to have one that fit on his truck. We will have the other work completed in the coming months. We were very pleased with the service.

They were courteous, prompt, and responsible. They were careful in the cleaning of the fireplace. Very helpful in giving full explanations of the procedure and the results and recommendations of the inspection. The took great care in the measurements for the new glass doors and in fact , the owner came out and personally remeasured the fireplace opening to insure it was correct before ordering the doors. The installation was perfect. I can heartily recommend this company and would use them again.

Chris came and inspected our system from top to bottom. I was impressed with his personal style, his professionalism, and this thoroughness. After taking things apart and checking and recording the state of the flue and firebox, we spent some time going over the results. We spoke about some improvements and he gave me an itemized estimate on what needed to be done in order to make those improvements. I sense that this is a cmp[any that understands how important customer service is and they seem to excel at it. I had a very comfortable and positive experience with Owens Chimney service and in particular with Chris.

Brandon was our service tech and he did a fabulous job. He arrived on time, was pleasant and a great job.

All went well. They ran a camera up the chimney, gave an analysis of cracks and how safe the chimney is and a few recommendations.

Fantastic. Craig was prompt and called before arriving. All precautions were taken to prevent soiling the carpets (i.e., tarps, shoe protection). Photos were taken of the chimney to show me the rust damage to the cover. Once the cover and collar were ready, Craig came back to install it. The sun set while he was removing the old cover and installing the new cover, and it began to get very cold. Craig worked alone, and it was obvious that he was very skilled at his job. All precautions were taken when spray painting the cap to prevent overspray on the driveway. The measurements and fabrication of the new cover were precise. The cover fit like a glove. I was very impressed. I will continue to use Owen's for my annual inspections. Thank you Craig!

I chose Owens based on reviews on Angie's List. From the moment I called to set up an appointment, I was treated with the friendliest, most outstanding customer service. The lady scheduling my appointment accessed my needs based off the year and construction of my home. I was ready to pay for chimney sweeping when she told me that Owens would inspect first and a sweeping may not even be needed. This would definately save me money. I did not know that there were businesses that still exsisted that actually looked out for what is best for the customer, instead of making as much money as possible. The service person (Brian) called and asked if he could arrive a little early, which was terrific because I am use to waiting all day on service technicians with other companies. He was extremely professional and very polite. He put on shoe covers (I just had my white carpets cleaned) without even me asking. He asked if it was ok if he pet my dog, which I found very polite (my dog is small & cute, most people just pet her without asking). The tech worked very efficiently, while engaging me in a delightful conversation to make the time fly by. He was very clean (used a drop cloth) and did not leave any traces of debris on my newly cleaned white carpet. The tech went over the pics with me and even showed me pics of what a damaged chimney looked like for me to compare. He also let me know not to use firestarters to roast marshmellows (the chemicals could be harmful). I will definately recommend Owens to anyone who is in need of a chimney sweep or inspection. I have been working with businesses globally for over 20 years and this company ranks at the top of my list for customer service, professionalism, and ROI (return on investment).

Owens is terrific. James Owens personally spends time explaining alternatives and follow up on time. Owens delivers as promised. Owens has done several jobs for me and I will pay more for their service and expertise.

Object was to replace poorly designed chase pan and stop water leak. Hopefully their work will stop leak. We appreciated their getting this done quickly, but the cost was very high. The chase pan they fabricated and installed cost $665. I have discovered I could have had one like it made for half that. Also they charged $540 for labor. Two of them were at the house working less than 6 hours.

I've been using this company for a while, starting several years ago when I found them thru Angie's List - and they discovered for the first time after 30 years that the fireplace to my house had never been built up to code. And that i had *already* had a chimney fire, which no other company had reported. Short story is that I had to have it re-poured, which was an expensive job . . .but their pricing was reasonable, compared to their competitors - and everything else about them is A+ rated. Their owner did the job himself - and personally answered a call on New Year's Eve later, when the air pressure in my house caused the smoke from a fire to back up into my house. I have NO suggestions for improvement or reasons to complain. Their work is top notch.

These people are the best. They are prompt, professional, and informed. They really care about the work they perform. Will absolutely use them again.

The technician cleaned and inspected the chimney. He climbed onto the chimney to take pictures to evaluate the chimney cover for rust damage. He communicated his findings to us and recommended we replace the chimney cover and let us know that we had some cracks in the firebox that were not yet at actionable limits. The tech was professional and well trained.

1. cap replacement -- no problem. I accept this cost 2. recommended "Heat Shield" relining of chimney for $3000. Second opinion -- recommended corrective action for 99$ plus $699. No relining recommended. Angie's List clients can make their own decision after reviewing my report.

Great work, no mess, had protections down in case a mess occurred. Very professional. showed up on time, finished when he said he would.

The woman who took my call patiently answered my questions and was quite pleasant. I'm selling the house with the chimney needs and given the time of year, the cleaning appointments were too far out to work for me. Still, I appreciated the time they took with me, the clarity of her explanations, and her overall professionalism.

Highly recommend. Very pleased with work and level of professionalism and quality. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs work done on fireplace and/or chimney. David was very pleasant and so easy to work with.

Contractor was pleasant to work with. They were timely and professional and were much more knowledgeable about the situation compared to the roofers who worked around the chimney. I was impressed. The only thing I was not impressed about was the cost of the fancy heavy duty monster chimney cap but that is not their fault. The manufacturers need to drop the price, ha ha
