Owens Chimney Systems

Very well. Came on time. Cleaned the chimney. Pointed out areas of future concern.

Overall the experience was good. The technician was prompt (actually 15 minutes early) and put on protective booties before coming into our home. Then he promptly laid down towels in front of the hearth and was very careful not to make a mess while doing the cleaning. Before leaving, he gave us a oral as well as a written report on what he found during the inspection that may need repairs in the future.

Actually arrived about 20 minutes early. Did a great job. Cleaned up after work was complete. Very impressed with this service.

It went really well. Chris came and did the estimate. He was very patient in explaining things to me and wrote up the estimate in great detail. The contractors showed up when they said they would. Some mornings they started a little bit later. The owner also came and worked on the project and supervised when needed. They were professional, polite and respectful. They explained what they were doing and what their plans were for the next day, depending on the weather. They didn't leave a mess when they were finished. The owner even offered to vacuum the den floor 'just in case' they had left some debris from their work. He also moved the treadmill back in place for us; they had to move it out of the way for the work. He also offered to call my husband at work and answer any questions he had about the work. It passed inspection the first time and the work itself took them around 4 days.

They did a very good job. I had to keep pinching myself because it was such good service. They were easy to talk to, they took detailed pictures of the chimneys and emailed them to us so we knew exactly what they were talking about. They came when they said they would, the price was very reasonable and they were easy to work with. There was a staining problem on our new roof from hardened cement from their repair work but they quickly and without question paid the roofer to do the necessary repair. They were great to work with.

This work took two full days. They then cleaned up on the morning of the third day. They did just what they said they would. They were here the appropriate amount of time. They cleaned up nicely. They came in at the price that they offered. There were no unexpected surprises. They were courteous and friendly. We were extremely satisfied. If we needed, we would use them again in a heartbeat.

They were very thorough, they didn't find any hazards in my chimney. They also replace different parts of my chimney. They replaced the chimney cover, and they also advised safety replacements. They took pictures of the roof and inside of the chimney.

Technicians completed inspection and sweep without causing any problems with soot removal. Seemed very professional. Technician showed me digital pictures of problem areas and suggested we might need repairs before continued use of chimney. He would consult with his boss and they would send estimates within one week. Boss called three days later and advised repairs would not currently be needed and suggested annual inspection to be sure when problems reach critical level.

The crew was outstandingly polite, helpful, cleaned up excellently, very trustworthy. Would emphatically recommend them to anyone who needed the same renovation.

It went very well. I was not pressured at all to fix anything. The gentlemen just provided pictures for me that were from the rooftop and inside the chimney. I told him that I would like an estimate on the two things he found, as well as replacing my fire screen and glass doors. I asked him if he would have the pictures e-mailed to us for my husband to review. He said that we would receive the digital pictures in about 2 to 3 days. He said we would also receive an estimate in the mail on what it would cost to make the two repairs they found. I had to call for the pictures about 4/5 days later. They e-mailed them to me once I called. I also received the estimates which I thought were reasonable. Total estimate was $1170.: chase cover $300.00, chimney cap $150, fire screen $60, glass doors $300 and refractory panel $95.00. Labor $200. Overall the experience was excellent. This was all right before the holidays. Work is scheduled for 1/21.

We have and oriental rug that us in close proximity to the fireplace. They wore booties to protect the floor and there were no spots on the rug when the job was completed. They did a really good job. I can not think of anything but good works to describe the service they provided.

It went well. The technician was friendly and did a thorough job of cleaning. The interior chimney flu inspection was a bit fuzzy, with the finding that there were bits of cement missing from the joints but NO determination about the extent. According to the technician, this missing cement could date back to the construction of the chimney 20 years ago. This is disappointing because the company uses a TV camera to inspect the interior of the chimney. This leads one to believe the inspection will be much more detailed than the one provided. I don't presently know how capable my chimney is, only that it is less than ideal. Simply put, the scope of the inspection doesn't match my expectation.

They were very thorough making sure to take before and after pictures. They were recommended by their competitor. The work took two days but they made sure that we were never inconvenienced and also cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them to other Angie's List members.

We were pleased with the company. They were very professional and performed the work exactly as discussed.

They did a very professional job. Moved wood burning stove and then cleaned the chimney. Took pictures along the way and provided me with a copy so I could see why they suggested certain repairs be made. They left the house clean and neat. Installed the cap without ever disturbing us.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL, DID WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO, AND PROVIDED A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO. WHAT I FELT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE DIFFERENTLY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A MORE DETAILED, MANDATORY DESCRIPTION OF WHAT ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE DONE.

Estimate just said pressure clean drive $ 1500 to $2000. No mention of gutters which was 1/3 to 1/2 the job time.

Serviceman called 15 minutes before he arrived. Left work area clean. Excellent service.

Called for an appointment, talked with a very friendly and courteous individual who explained what they were going to do and what the costs were. They came out in a couple of days, cleaned and inspected the chimney and reported what should be done to bring the chimney up to a safe performance level. Very satisfied with their work, and will definitely have them back to make the repairs they suggested.

All went well. Lesson learned. I will have Owens yearly clean out my clothes dryer vent.

He was one of the most professional and helpful people I have worked with on all of my home projects. He got the parts I needed, and was willing to help when I called him with question about what I was doing.

I had a lot of confidence in their work. They were very clean and they knew what they were doing.
