NOT A GEEK

Description of Work: Mike had previously installed a remote access program (TeamViewer) which allowed him to view my computer without coming to my house. He resolved an issue which was preventing me from accessing any of my browsers. He is prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him!

Description of Work: Reset the wireless router so we were able to access wireless connections. Have had no problems since. He was here longer than expected, so bill was higher; however, well worth it to stop eating up our data plan. Would call him again for any difficulties. Also, he thought the problem might be our router so was replacing. When he had it up and running, continued to have same difficulty as with the original. As a result, he disconnected the new one saying we did not need it. Really appreciated his honesty in not selling us equipment we didn't need.

Description of Work: I spoke with Mike Grabowski on the phone and he honestly told me the repair I was contemplating was not worth it considering the benefit and age of the computer. I admired his honesty and will use him in the future if the need arises.

Description of Work: I brought my apparently "dead duck" to Mike to ask about recovering data. Mike took the time and initiative to further evaluate the PC and determine it was alive with a plethora of viruses. He cleaned up the PC and helped me set up virus protection at minimum cost. I recently called Mike for some advice which he readily provided over the phone without cost. "Highly Recommended"

Description of Work: I called this service when I broke something on my computer. The gentleman picked up at about 8:30 at night and spoke to me length about my problem. Although he could not help me, he advised me about what to do and was very kind and thorough. I would have used this service if he could have fixed what was broken, but it had to go to the Apple Store.

Description of Work: Mike evaluated my computer and pulled data from a crashed hard drive. He advised me that I should just buy a new machine rather than pay him to fix my old one. his professionalism and honesty were appreciated and I will definitely recommend him to friends.

Description of Work: Called "Not A Geek" for help with my printer. He advised not to fix it, but to buy a new one. He told me who was having a sale,where to go and about what I should pay. He was very helpful. Purchased a new printer for what it cost to fix the old one. I will call him again for computer repairs.

Description of Work: Called for computer repair. Had phone consultation and discovered that I needed to replace hard drive. Instead of coming out and charging me for another repair that would do nothing, like my last computer repair con artist, he told me the truth; my hard drive needs replacing. He gave me plenty of help and direction, even calling me back with more assistance as I go out to purchase a new computer. No charge and no condescending or accusatory tone, which unfortunately has been my experience with tech guys.

Description of Work: We used Not a Geek to clean up two slow laptops, very professional and provided helpful tips for future printer and laptop purchases.

Description of Work: I called company/Mike to inquire of his services; informed him of my laptop issue...black screen, which I thought was a virus. He advised he could work on the laptop at his place or mine. We agreed his place would be fine. He arrive on time and I met him at the door with the laptop inside laptop bag along with the original back up CDs. He asked if he could come in to take a look at the laptop and I agreed. WHAT A MISTAKE...he never left. This was a huge inconvenience, since I had other plans. He was not very friendly and he did not say very much. When I asked questions he answered my questions but did not elaborate. He was able to installed the orig.back up CD's & recommended I needed a new router which he charged $65...same router much cheaper at Walmart. This took 2 hours!!??...nevertheless he fixed the problem.

Description of Work: Mike did a general clean up of 2 computers, including virus removals & installing new free programs that made both computers much faster. Also, scans on my main computer were not working & he repaired those & informed me on how to better maintain both computers in the future. He gave me free advise on the phone that helped. When he came out he was very professional, arrived on time, knew what he was doing & did a great job. I will definitely call him back next time I need need any kind of computer service or advise.

Description of Work: Notageek is a one man business. Mike answered promptly, came to look at my computer, took it back to his store, repaired it, brought it back and showed me what the new aspects all within 6 hours, for a major repair.

Description of Work: Mike is an honest man! When I described my problem to him over the phone, we set a time up for him to come to my place of business and assist me. But he also said I should call my internet provider first to see if they could help me. I did, and they did. I did not end up needing MIke's services, but I definitely benefitted from his honesty!

Description of Work: I had trouble connecting to the internet. Mike came out on time, and looked it over, I was up and running within an hour and a half. I had the same problem the next day, called Mike back and he came out and found nothing wrong with the computer, being a network problem instead. He did this at not extra charge for his time, which is very rare these days! I will certainly use him again.

Description of Work: I called to discuss whether to upgrade my 5 year old computer that is slowing down, or to have it upgraded. We had a 15 min. conversation resulting in a recommendation that I replace the computer. We were able to discuss in detail because of vendor's expertise and the detail information that I had on my existing system.
