It went great we were very pleased with it.

Installation was timely and service people were very professional. VERY SATISFIED.

My upstairs furnace stopped blowing hot air in late November. I called Nick & Co. because I had seen his sign in my neighborhood and a friend had used his services. He examined my unit and told me my igniter was bad. (I think that's right--it's whatever lights the gas when the furnace comes on.) He gave me a quote to fix it somewhere around $800-$1,000. My unit was 14 years old and had a generic evaporator coil. The AC to this unit had been replaced in 2005 before we bought the house. I asked for quotes to replace the entire unit. He quoted me several options including a 95% efficient unit that would qualify for a tax credit. In the meantime, I had another company out to give me quotes on the exact same Trane models. Nick's prices were better and I was very comfortable with Dee, his office manager. Nick spent at least an hour on the phone talking about the efficiencies of the furnaces and where they were best installed. What he said matched with what my research was telling me. Sometimes, the 95% efficient furnaces can develop problems with the condensate pump in uninsulated attics. So we decided to go with the 80% efficient upstairs. (And, by the way, Nick would actually have made more money on the 95% efficient furnace.) We were so impressed with how smoothly and quickly the installation went, we asked him to quote on our downstairs unit. We knew it could go at any time and the tax credit was expiring. We had him replace our downstairs unit with the 95% efficient unit with all the bells and whistles. With rebates and tax credits, the cost to us was under $3,500 for a brand new Trane furnace and AC. The price I mentioned above is BEFORE those rebates and credits and is for both upstairs and downstairs units. We were pleased with Nick's crew and office staff. Dee even dropped by certificates and contracts at my door so I could file my rebate paperwork in time. I felt like Nick was very straightforward with me. He took time to educate me when I had questions. The installation went very smoothly and they scheduled me in very quickly. i would recommend Nick & Co. and I will be using them to service my furnaces and ACs.

I am the host/producer of the For Your Home show on PBS. Nick was our HVAC contractor on a major kitchen makeover project. He had a real chanllenge to move the venting system from a down-draft into the crawl space to an overhead venting system. He worked with our finished carpenter and general contractor to find the perfect solution to the problem. The homeowner and the project team were all very happy with the results. Nick provided an excellent experience. Crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves. Dee, the receptionist, is very friendly and responsive. This was the second quote we got and was much lower than the other one. We are very happy with the results.

I think they are excellent. I?ve been using them for six or seven years and I think they are good, they are honest, and they do a nice job. I don?t know how many people work there but the boss comes out every time.

Nick & Co had the best price on Trane products. They were prompt and efficient and very nice. I would definitely use them again.

Nick and Co. is the vendor or choice for me because I have found that their professionalism was far better than what you can expect to receive from other companies. I am sure that there are other companies would change less (Nick's was average) but you will get what you pay for.

I respect a vendor that doesn't try to oversell. In this case, the vendor questioned the approach a competitor used without criticizing the competitor. Nick is his own salesperson; he doesn't have a separate sales force in between the customer and the installer's technical knowledge, and this makes a difference with this type of equipment. I will seek a system design and quote from Nick later this year, and in fairness will ask our alternate vendor to quote on the same system, although I don't expect their pricing to be as competitive.

In doing my research for purchasing a new furnace, I learned that choosing the right company to do the installation is as important as choosing the right furnace. I was determined to do my due diligence before making the purchase, so I invited four of the highest rated companies on Angie's List to come out to the house to provide quotes. Nick, the owner of Nick & Co, was by far the most thorough in providing an estimate, from examining the existing system to taking measurements of the house, and even checking the wiring for the old thermostat for compatibility with the new one. However, I was still undecided on which company to choose, because two of the quotes I received were for smaller furnaces than the other two, one being from Nick & Co. So, I called Nick and asked him to explain why he chose the smaller furnace. Now, I was a licensed home inspector for seven years, so I know a little bit about furnaces. I won't go into all of the details here, but suffice it to say that Nick's explanation so impressed me that I knew that I wanted Nick & Co to install my new furnace. (Regarding the details of his explanation, I will say that the smaller furnace was the correct size for my home, and if I had gone with the larger furnace, I would have been severely disappointed with the anticipated reduction in my gas bills.) I was definitely not disappointed with the installation. The two gentlemen that did the installation were very prompt, professional and courteous, and took the time to explain in detail how to program the new thermostat and answer all of my questions, and I had a lot being a former home inspector. They even went the extra mile to fulfill a couple of requests I made that were above and beyond what was expected. Dee, who handles the business side of Nick & Co, was extremely helpful. She answered all of my many questions regarding multiple rebates and the federal tax credit for purchasing a high-efficiency appliance. Not only that, but she put together a packet containing all of the forms I needed to apply for them, with portions of the forms already completed, and organized them based on which forms needed to be mailed to each company. In addition, she hand delivered the packet to my house on a Saturday to ensure I could mail them in time to meet the various deadlines for filing the paperwork. One last thing - of the four companies that provided me quotes, Nick & Co's price was the lowest. I almost forgot to mention this because price was not the deciding factor in choosing Nick & Co. That was just a bonus.

Overall, the services have gone just fine.

Nick & Co comes out in the fall and in the spring. He is yet to come out for the fall maintenance. My old furnace was 25 years old. So I had a new system put in, as the air conditioning unit was not functioning so well. He and his crew came out and checked everything. So far, everything is checked. I can always call him in an emergency. I?ve had him for years; I used his services when he was working for somebody else and before he went out on his own. I always asked for him even when he changed his company and when he started on his own, I stuck with him. I haven?t compared his prices to that of the others, as I haven?t used anybody else. He is really good. His secretary calls up and sets up my meeting with him. Sometimes, he gets caught up in emergencies. I have recommended him to my neighbor.

Nick was working with Nick & Co. when the heat pumps were installed in our house, but later he went out on his own. We were so impressed with him that we have worked with him ever since. We have him do our maintenance twice a year, and any other time that we need him. He is extremely professional and most reliable. We will continue to use him for sure because we trust him implicitly. He has been excellent.

They are extremely professional. They are always on time. Their quotes are reasonable. They come in when they say they will come. They charge what they say they will charge. I have not had any problems with the service. I have not had to get any servicing done because whatever they have done has been top notch. The price was reasonable.

They were clean, profession, they were here for 5 days and the whole experience was great. Nick the owner spent a lot of time looking at the system and was always willing to answer questions and Dan, Ted the workers also did a great job removing and re-installing the system and also the insulation.

Nick came out after hours and he had to order the motor. Nick had it shipped express so that I wouldn't be without heat and came back the following day to install it. He did a wonderful job and is very pleasant.

Service was great. I called at 8:30 a.m. and was told that someone would be here after 2:00 p.m. Instead, Gary arrived at 11:30. He was polite, very competent and honest about our systems. I've relied upon Nick & Co in the past and plan to call them for my future needs.

Nick & CO submitted the lowest bid and completed the work in two days. The two workers, Jim and John were polite and worked very hard in the heat.
