He got it running
Description of Work: We own a small business that had networking issues after a Duke power outage. We didn't realize we lost our IP address and was accessing a nearby hotel. It took a week and a half and $1000 for him to switch us from wireless to hard-wired computers. The printers were supposed to stay wireless. In the end we're able to run our POS system with this new hard-wiring, but we still have two IP addresses and the printers stopped working wireless so I had to hard-wire them as well. Not sure why he couldn't fix us to stay wireless, the same way we'd been operating for 10 years. I'd say he stayed with me to get the computers working, but in the end I'm not sure they really knew what they were doing. Seems like he should have been able to fix the current system instead of taking so much time and money. I'm moving my store location and reached out to him for cabling, etc. with no response. I thought perhaps since he'd already been working on our system he could set it up now the way it should be, but no response. I really don't know that they know what they're doing. He does a lot of marketing so his name is out there, but I just don't know...

Hi Mrs. [Member Name Removed], It is unfortunate that you have to result to this type of deformation of character because someone on my team did not get back to you about getting your stores' network moved to another building. You have my email and my personal number to reach me at any time. Before I begin, I have to say that out of 84 reviews this is the first bad review we've had on Angie's list or anywhere at all for that matter. Majority of our business comes from referral. So for in the last 17 years, our reputation has been stellar. 83 positive reviews on this sites prove that. Let me just take time to outline the issues your pet store was having. You were referred to us by another person that either worked with us or heard about our work. You did not get our info from Angie's list. So that why I was a little surprised to see your review here. 1. You were having an issue connecting your computers to the network. Not being able to print wirelessly or wired. a. We found out that your computer was connected to a public wifi and your printer was connected to your local network. Which means you are on two separate networks. i. We fixed this issue and informed you that it is not compliant for you to run a credit card through an unsecured wireless. You mentioned to me you've been doing that for years (keep in mind, my lead tech who worked for NCR National Cash Register) informed you of this and repeatedly made you aware of how your data could be compromised using public wifi. Also writing customers credit card information on a notepad is the number one way data gets compromised. In an effort to keep your company from being sued by your customers for compromising their credit card information, we made a recommendation on the second issue we found. 2. The second issue was due to the repeated power issue you were having. Your network switch was going in and out of power every few minutes. a. We recommend replacing the network switch with another one. Since we were aware that you are price conscious. We recommended that you pick up a network switch from best buy. I specifically spoke with you on what type of device to get. Also, mention to you to call us when you've purchased it so we can install it. b. A couple of days later, you call me upset questioning the work we did or our knowledge base (I am putting it nicely on this note). I sent my lead tech out to take a look. I joined him after a while. During our troubleshooting, we found out that you purchased a router instead of a switch. Keep in mind we were never informed that you had purchased a device at all. Then had one of your staff install the equipment unconfigured on the network. Which in turn created another network inside the network. Also, they were a loopback on that same router that was installed. When I asked you why you didn't give us a call so we can install the switch. You said you were trying to not have to pay our hourly rate to do the work. We figured a way to configure the router to act as a switch to get everything setup. All these issues could have been prevented with one phone call before you decided to have an employee install the device. c. We went above and beyond to get your pet store running well. Even got you on 3-way call to talk to Spectrum about your internet. While we were working on this project, you decided to upgrade your internet to a faster speed. It turns, your static IP address was changed. Which made it impossible for you to view your cameras remotely and also caused an issue with you internet not working. We were able to get the right IP address from Spectrum and applied it to the network router. 3. After hours and even on weekend to make sure everything was working perfectly and better than it has ever worked, I didn't expect this type of review. I personally went back to the Pet store and asked all the employee how things were working and they were raving about our work. That thing has never worked as well as it is working now. You called us on many occasions after the work was done asking for our expert advice on other things you wanted to do with your office. Keep in mind all this was provided to you for free. You even apologized to us for the way you treated me and my tech and thanked us for the work we did. It wasn't the best experience working for you. But that's what we do. We even make the difficult clients happy.

I HAVE SHOPPED AROUND AS I HAVE HAD BAD SERVICE IN THE PAST. I FELT A GREAT RAPPORT WHEN SPEAKING TO THIS COMPANY. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL, ARRIVED ON TIME AT MY HOME, AND PROVIDED NO BS OR TRIED TO SELL ME SOMETHING I DID NOT NEED. EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY WHEN PHAN (THE PERSON SENT) LEFT.
