Description of Work: They never responded to my call or online request for an appointment. I used another provider two weeks ago that I was very pleased with and will get my business.

Description of Work: Furnace stopped working, they came and checked it very next day. After checking it, the tech says I need a new furnace and may cost $5,000-$6000, but he needed to send a salesman over to the house to go over all the details. I got a second opinion from another company and whadaya know... all I needed was some sort of valve thingy. Total job $200!!!!

Description of Work: Not the greatest. This is the second time I had them come out in two months for a freon leak. The first technician said he did a complete search for leak but could not find one...however, he did not check the outside unit. We fully charged the system and it cost me about $600. A month and a half later, the system was again empty of freon. I called again and a different technician came out and did the same check on the system bUT also checked the outside unit. As soon as he pulled the lid off of the fan unit, the leak was apparent visually. He proceeded to try and push back the repair by another day because he did not want to spend the time to brazen the leaking copper line that evening. He tried calling another technician to come out and repair it and then his supervisor. The supervisor told him to give me a quote and for me to decide then. I think the quote was high. The technician then kept pushing me to shop around...I feel the quote was made intentionally high so that I would say I would shoprefer around so he could go home and not stay to fix the problem. Besides, if I did call someone else, they would charge me a $100 just to come out. So I told him to fix it. The quote I was given was $1800-$1900. But the final bill came to $2100 for "additional freon" that my system needed. All told, between the two visits, this leak cost me about $2,700.

Description of Work: Replaced outside compressor, inside coils, thremostat, new refrigerant, various associated electrical and air duct modifications. Repairs were fast and done on time.

Description of Work: After having a good experience with Morris-Jenkins on a weekend AC repair, I asked them to come out and give a quote on replacing one of our systems. They were very professional and informative. Walked through the whole process and explained how they would set up the system and tweak it to perform better. Then they gave the price, which was literally 2x competing quotes for a unit that had lower efficiency ratings than what competitors were offering. They were also suggesting unneccessary changes, such as increasing the size of the intake despite it being of adequate volume for the size of unit we have. | |While I would have liked to work with MJ, I was able to save $4,000 by using Love Plumbing and Air Conditioning out of Monroe, NC. In the end, good customer service is just not worth paying that kind of exorbitant price for what is really a commoditized product.

Description of Work: I paid Angie and they also charged me .... had to call to get corrected .... |When doing work, they suggested a minor fix needed in electrical box .... wanted to charge me $200 to fix .... extremely overpriced for job .... had an electrician at house doing other work .... had him check this out ... he fixed in about 10 minutes ....... it was under house in crawl space .... I do not feel comfortable with how this was discussed with .... $200 ?????

Description of Work: Performed diagnostic and checked one unit. Prices were higher than others we had used but they were professional and did some extra checks for us.

Description of Work: Did tune up on a/c units. Found other parts of my a/c that were about to die. Explained issues to me in detail along with criticality of each issue and priority. I decided to fix two issues that the technician was able to repair during the same visit. My only complaint is that the wait list for my initial a/c tune up was over a month.

Description of Work: I thought I was getting a full service of my AC, cleaning, freon check, etc., but they just checked my AC units and decided that one needed to be replaced. This is such an expensive thing that I decided I would get 3 to 4 estimates. As I would hope anyone would do. Out of all of the estimates, Morris-Jenkins was double the price of anyone else so of course they lost the job. | |I would like to say that everyone I talked to at Morris-Jenkins was very polite and professional. My opinion is that their overhead is so great because they are such a large company that their prices are not competitive. I'm sure their service is great and their equipment is top notch but this does not justify them being so much higher than everyone else. We ended up paying someone to clean both units and add freon and do a few other services to both and so far so good. The one may go out before Summers end but I'm willing to risk it for now. Let's face it people, a few days without AC is not going to kill us.

Description of Work: Bi annual checkup, all well.Needed whole new Heating / AC system, received a price quote, way out of line with the other 3 quotes we received from other Angie's list companies. BUT for the 7 years we used them, they were great.

Description of Work: The service person was very personable and careful. He did a good job of explaining what he did and what he felt might need to be done in the future.
