THIS COMPANY IS VERY FRIENDLY AND TIMELY. THEIR PRICES MAY BE HIGHER THAN SOME COMPANIES, BUT THEY STAND BY THEIR WORK. THE SERVICE MAN WAS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE. HE NEVER TRIED TO HAVE US GET MORE THAN NECESSARY DONE TO OUR 20 YEAR OLD FURNACE.

UNTIL RECENTLY, I HAD BEEN SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE, ALTHOUGH I GENERALLY HAD TO CALL THEM TO SCHEDULE A MAINTENANCE VISIT. I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD'VE HAD ANNUAL CUSTOMERS ON A SCHEDULED LIST TO CALL TWICE A YEAR. I WAS DISAPPOINTED WHEN THEY ADMITTED THE EASY TRAP HAD BEEN INSTALLED IMPROPERLY, BUT THEY FIXED IT WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST. HOWEVER, THEY MIS-DIAGNOSED THE HEAT PUMP PROBLEM. THEY SUGGESTED I BUY A $2,599 HEAT PUMP REPLACEMENT, WHEN IN FACT BRADHAM BROTHERS FOUND THAT MY HEAT PUMP ONLY NEEDED A NEW CRANK CASE HEATER. BRADHAM FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR LESS THAN $150! I WISH I HAD KNOWN THAT MORRIS JENKINS WERE NOT AUTHORIZED TRANE DEALERS, BECAUSE THEY NEARLY COST ME MORE THAN $2,000 IN ERROR.
Description of Work: I HAVE HAD AN ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH MORRIS-JENKINS FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. THEY ROUTINELY INSPECT MY TWO HEAT PUMPS AND AIR HANDLERS TWICE A YEAR. IN FALL 2004, THEY RECOMMENDED ADDING AN EASY TRAP. IN SUMMER 2005, THEY ADMITTED THAT THE EASY TRAP HAD BEEN INSTALLED IMPROPERLY AND RE-INSTALLED THE TRAP. IN AUG 2005, THEY CAME OUT WHEN MY UPSTAIRS A/C WAS OUT AND TOLD ME THE HEAT PUMP'S COMPRESSOR HAD GROUNDED OUT. THEY RECOMMENDED PURCHASING A NEW HEAT PUMP FOR $2,599.

MORRIS-JENKINS PROVIDED SAME-DAY RESPONSE, WHICH IS IMPORTANT WHEN YOUR HEAT GOES OUT. THEY HELPED RESEARCH THE WARRANTY TO SEE IF ANY PARTS WOULD BE COVERED (UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE NOT, BUT I APPRECIATED THE EFFORT). THE PART TOOK MORE THAN A WEEK TO ARRIVE, BUT THE TECHNICIAN FROM MORRIS-JENKINS WORKED ON THE SYSTEM TO ENSURE THAT IT WOULD LIMP THROUGH THE WAIT PERIOD. THANKS TO THEIR HELP WE NEVER HAD TO GO WITHOUT HEAT. THE TECHNICIAN WAS HELPFUL AND PROMPT. HE PROVIDED A THOROUGH EXPLANATION OF THE PROBLEM AND A CLEAR RECOMMENDATION FOR MAKING THE REPAIRS. I BELIEVE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE MIGHT DEPEND ON THE DEDICATION AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE TECHNICIAN SERVICING YOUR AREA. IN OUR CASE, WE HAD A VERY GOOD TECHNICIAN (SE CHARLOTTE AREA). DUE TO THE CRITICAL NATURE OF OUR PROBLEM I COULD NOT COMPARE PRICES WITH OTHER COMPANIES. IT WAS A LOT OF MONEY BUT I WAS PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE.

THE REP KEPT THE APPOINTMENT ON TIME AND ASSISTED WITH FILTER CHANGE (NO CHARGE) WHILE HERE. THE REP WHO PERFORMED THE ESTIMATE WOULD NOT RETURN THE CALL TO INFORM US OF THE ESTIMATED COST. WE HAD TO CALL IN ORDER TO GET DETAILS OF ESTIMATE. THE REP WE SPOKE TO AT THE HOUSE DID NOT BOTHER TO SPEAK TO US ON THE PHONE, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS AUDIBLY PRESENT IN THE BACKGROUND.

COMPANY I CHOSE PROVIDED A HIGHER RATED UNIT (CONSUMER REPORTS) FOR $700 LESS. OFF-HOURS ANSWERING SERVICE VERY RUDE.

HAD PROBLEMS WITH AC UNIT NOT COOLING DOWN LAST YEAR. CALLED MORRIS-JENKINS, THEY CAME OUT QUICKLY. TECHNICIAN SPOKE VERY BROKEN ENGLISH, SO IT WAS DIFFICULT TO COMMUNICATE WITH HIM (THOUGH HE WAS VERY NICE). ADDED FREON, BUT CHARGED US EXTRA (OVER WHAT I WAS QUOTED FOR ''MAINTENANCE'') FOR CLEANING THE UNIT (TOOK A HOSE AND FLUSHED IT OUT) AND THEN WANTED TO CHARGE US AN ADDITIONAL $250 TO REPLACE A PVC PIPE (WHICH WE BOUGHT FOR $15 AND MY HUSBAND REPLACED IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES). ALL IN ALL, WE WERE CHARGED DOUBLE WHAT THEY QUOTED, DIDN'T GET ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED DUE TO COMMUNICATION ISSUES WITH OUR TECHNICIAN AND WE'RE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THIS YEAR. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN.

I WOULD NOT CALL THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY WORK FOR US AGAIN. THE MONEY WE PAID THEM AT THE END OF THE SUMMER LAST YEAR DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, AND NOW WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AGAIN THIS YEAR.

INITIAL INSTALLATION WAS FINE. THE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT TO MAKE SURE THE UNIT WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY WAS A NIGHTMARE. WHILE THE SERVICE PROVIDED WAS DECENT, THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN AFTER THEY DECIDED TO BILL ME 3 MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED.
