Morris-Jenkins is phenomenal! We've been with them for 3 years and they've always been honest and upfront with us. They are always professional. Today was no exception; they came in an replaced both our heating and A/C units in less than six hours! The salesman who came out to the house to evaluate the kind of system we needed was EXCELLENT!

They charge more than many of them put they put a lot of stock into education; so that is what I pay for. I have discovered with my latest heating and air conditioning unit that education is going to help me. The value that they place on education is ultimately helping me choose the right system for my house and also, from the past two years, it has been helping me with the repairs. So it helps me make an educated decision. I pay a premium but in the long run, I get the best thing. They are always within the limit of when they say they will come and they always call before they come. I will use them again; I think I am tied to them.

Woke up 1/5 with no heat. UGH. Called my regular HVAC company--already I am a priority customer--and got no answer. Called Morris Jenkins, got an immediate answer. Someone came out that same day to evaluate the situation. Got an honest evaluation---my blower motor was burnt out --they could fix it for several hundred dollars, but no guarantee it would last. My unit was 17 years old. Estimate for replacement until scheduled for (Sunday) 1/6/12!! Salesperson arrived promptly, gave me fair price..scheduled installation for later that day (SUNDAY). The whole thing was installed and up and running by 7PM that same night!! I was amazed. My 88 year old mother lives with me so getting heat restored in January was important. My mother was THRILLED with the Morris Jenkins team. She is a huge fan of "truck 17--Bobby and Mr. Jenkins". I'm a huge fan of Morris Jenkins now. Great customer service. Fair prices! I honestly felt good about parting with $8,500 that day. I love my new system. I recently had new windows installed so now I should be completely energy efficient. I highly recommend Morris Jenkins. I am a new life-long customer of theirs. You will not be sorry with Morris Jenkins!!

This company is professional all the way. They have protocols and they follow them. They show up when they say they will, they tell you what is wrong, what should be fixed, and exactly what it will cost to fix it. I trust their technicians. They aren't the cheapest, but when it comes to certain things in my house that I use EVERY day I refuse to save a dollar to destroy such expensive equipment. They have well stocked trucks and can fix most things on the initial visit. There sales staff is professional and nice.
Description of Work: They inspected my unit, cleaned out the drain lines on my A/C unit, and re-ran the drain lines where the builder's installer cut corners.

BEWARE OF FLAT RATE PRICING. We paid $1,795 for the following summary of services, as listed on the invoice: "Replace Power Vent Motor Disconnect electrical supply to furnace. Disconnect and remove flue vent piping and electric to power vent. Remove motor and replace, test and check for proper combustion air pressure and safety. (Special Order - OEM)" The invoice did not include a breakdown of pricing: parts, labor, tax, etc. I found our specific Power Vent Motor unit online for $350 - $400, so I wanted to know how they came to an additional $1,300. I called Morris Jenkins to get an inventory, and they explained to me that they can't break down prices. They have a Flat Rate Pricing Policy, that includes everything from their service to marketing to administrative costs. I'm not disputing the cost or the level of service - I was out of town with limited access to the internet, needed to get heat into my house since the weather was calling for freezing temps, and didn't check around with other companies. I take issue that the company could not provide me with an inventory of what my actual costs were, regardless of their pricing policy. The service guy was prompt, and communicated courteously over the phone so that we could get the repair done. Morris Jenkins did call back to explain their pricing policy and why they couldn't itemize my bill. I would use this company again, after bidding out future work and comparing pricing.
Description of Work: BEWARE OF FLAT RATE PRICING Morris Jenkins provided emergency heater repair while we were out of town. A broken Power Vent Motor was replaced and heat restored within 24 hours. The service and repair were excellent. The pricing is a mystery because they won't itemize their parts, labor, etc.

I called them on Friday evening and they couldn’t come until Sunday because there was a lot of air conditioning repair going on at that time. They did come on Sunday promptly at the time they said they would come. They assessed the problem. They stated that they could put a band aid on it until the time, they could bring a technician to give us a sales talk to purchase a new unit. He band aid the 12 year unit and he put some kind of fan motor on it. So that the fan could continue to blow and get us through weekend. They came out and talked to us about the new unit and assessed what our needs were. They had 3 different choices of the unit – a lower priced unit, then they had a middle priced unit and then an elite model. Then they decided to do the heating for a discounted rate if I purchased the entire unit. So I went with the entire unit and that included the heating and the air conditioning unit for the upstairs. They came in and they did all the work. They had all the padding and the sheeting down so as not to crack up my house. They wore little rubber booties. The service were outstanding. They were amazing. It was very hot in my attic and I gave them a fan probably to help circulate the hot air. They didn’t ask for any water. They came equipped and they had their own refrigerated thing in the truck. They had their own lunch. It took them about 6 hrs to get it all done, once they did they cleaned up everything. They even offered to vacuum but I said no. Once they were done, before they left the technician came back to check the electrical. They ran the heating and the air conditioner. They wanted to know if I was okay. They put in the carbon monoxide detector and I got a new digital thermostat to go with the unit. It covered 4 rooms upstairs. It was absolutely outstanding service. Then they even called to make sure I was satisfied. It became almost annoying because they were calling every 3 or 4 weeks. In January they called again. The sales person was not pushy and they gave us an opportunity to decide. They told me that they could put in whatever unit I wanted but they had a recommendation for it. I would recommend them to anyone. They seemed to be a bit pricey but I got for what I paid. I was satisfied with the price. They were over responsive. They called and told me when they were coming, they were on time. In fact they were little ahead of schedule. They said it will take a couple of hours the first time. They were extremely professional. They went all out of their way. They were awesome. I will call them back again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Morris-Jenkins because the air conditioning unit was down in the upstairs part of my house.

The technician was knowedeable, nice and helpful. I had no issues with him, however the price was outrageous. My thermostat wasn't working and it was decided I needed a new one. Morris Jenkins has a list of parts you can choose from and the least expensive thermostat they had was $265. I asked why it was so expensive when I can buy one at Lowe's or Home Depot for $50 to $60 and he said those are not as nice or durable as the ones Morris Jenkins sells. I bought it as I already had to pay for hte service call and I figured it would cost more to get someone else out. After the appointent I check to see how much the thermostat would cost me to purchase and I can buy the one provided for $45 (cheaper than the ones I found at Lowe's and Home Depot). That means Morris Jenkins charged over $200 for installation. The technician id give me a $20 coupon. I called Morris Jenkins and asked and they noted they are not low cost, but they provide you with a 2 year warranty which increases the cost. My old thermostat was the one my house was built with so it was likely a cheap contractor grade and it lasted 10 years so I'm not sure how a 2 year warranty derserves a premium. I called a HVAC company with an 'A' rating and asked how much to install a thermostat and they said $30. The technician that came out was really nice and helped me out by looking at my furnace so that is why the other scores are good, but I know I can get similar quality work from other companies at a fraction of the price so I don't see the value in paying such a premium. I didn't check to see how reasonable the $170 cost was for the capacitor as I was afraid the answer would have been the same.

Signed up for the yearly maintenance with service guarantee. Technician performed service, removed freone, and cut off one of two units due to service needed. The unit left running quit working within several days which was a hot day in August. I called for them to honor that I "would have cool air tonight" as a yearly client. Was told there were no technicians available till following day. Next day, was told had to have fans replaced in both units. Customer service was contacted and several months of monthly charge credited to compensate for lack of service. By mid December I had not been contacted for the twice yearly check-up so I unlatched door of inside unit to change the indoor filters and there was NO filter in the downstairs unit. I called and quit and they sent a check to have the unit cleaned. This was an awful experience and their ad was totally false.

I would not recommend this company to any of my friends
Description of Work: Having just purchased a foreclosure a few months ago I thought it would be a good idea to replace the whole HVAC system as the existing one was old and appeared to have seen better days. I called Morris-Jenkins for a quote and they sent out a salesperson. For what I thought was a regular a/c compressor, she said it was a heat pump. Not knowing that much about HVAC systems, I deferred to her "expertise". The price she quoted for the system was about $3000 more than a system should cost (yes, I did my research prior to calling). I decided to just let this one die a natural death and replace it when it did. Well.....after receiving several rather large electric bills, I called another company for a quote. Lo and behold, I did in fact have a regular a/c compressor just as I had suspected. And the large electric bills were due to the compressor continually running when the heat cut on. (no, this is not supposed to happen). I have decided to purchase the new unit from the company that came out today because they were able to diagnose the problem and were actually able to recognize what type of equipment that I have.

Punctual, but caused a problem with one of my units by not reconnecting all of the wires. When I called them, they sent someone out who did not completely resolve the issue and then tried to charge me for the service call. He agreed to not collect for the visit, but within a few days I had to call again and they sent someone out who finally fixed the issue at no charge. A lot of hassle for a simple safety check.
Description of Work: Serviced furnaces. Turns out to be a safety check, they don't mention that newer equipment is sealed, but needed the check anyway.

.The system installers came on the assigned day. They were very professional throughout the installation. They worked all through a heavy July thunderstorm and completed the work in one day. Our family was very pleased and impressed.
Description of Work: Our heating/air conditioning system went on the blink. The service man came out and gave an estimate on repair cost. Because the system was around fifteen years old, we decided to go with a new system. The company's salesman came out and we decided on a system that we wanted. The company furnished a window unit until they could get the new system installed

The company was extremely professional. I did get other quotes that were slightly less expensive, but my husband had prior experience with this company and really wanted to use them. They showed up on time, did the work in less than a day, and we noticed a huge improvement in the power bill and how frequently we have to run our heater. Very good company to deal with, though again, they were slightly more expensive [~800$] than the other quote I got.

Honestly, I wish more companies had employees like this! While prices quoted for repairs were on par with other local companies, the personal treatment and integrity of their repair people is what has me sold. They walked me through every step and encouraged me to watch on so I could learn for myself. Every employee so far has been willing to answer all of my questions thoughtfully and purposefully as well. Definitely recommended!
Description of Work: Morris-Jenkins has come to do both maintenance service and repair on our A/C and heating units. They have been exemplary in their professionalism and service. On the cleaning appontment, all necessary tune-ups were performed and all ducts were cleaned as necessary. On the repir appontment for the A/C, the unit itself was faulty (probably even from the date of installation by the builder). The A/C was just slightly out of warranty and Morris-Jenkins fought on our behalf to get the parts covered. Very professional - they didn't leave us hanging.

When I had Morris Jenkins install our HVAC system, I contracted for them to come every six months to service the system. They are here like clockwork for performance of those services. During the last six month's service call, our thermostat upstairs had finally conked out. We asked the serviceman to install a simple thermostat upstairs in my son’s bedroom area. About four weeks ago we thought the thermostat stopped working and therefore called Morris Jenkins to come and replace it. When they arrived and checked it out, the serviceman said it was not the thermostat, but the blower and it would cost close to $300 to repair/replace. We didn't contract for the work to be done because we did not have the money to do so that day. Therefore we paid the service fee call and two weeks later called Morris Jenkins and told them to go ahead with the work. The serviceman returned with the parts and who I believe was a lead man or supervisor. They proceeded to perform the work and the lead man noticed a loose wire. He came down and told me everything was working great and it would not cost us a cent. I looked at him with a big surprise on my face and ask HOW COME? He said there was a wire that had come loose from the blower, so he rewired it and it works great and they did not have to replace anything. He said he didn't know how the wire became loose, but he was going to assume that it was a Morris Jenkins issue and therefore they would not charge us for the work. He also said that Morris Jenkins would be refunding us the service call fee we paid when they were there a couple of weeks before. Morris Jenkins, like most companies, charge a service call fee and that fee is waived if you give them the job that day, but if you don't then you pay the service call fee, which we did. Now they could have replaced the blower and charged us as discussed, but they were very honest and told us the truth and even took responsibility for the loose wire when no one knows how it got loose. THAT DAY THEY SPOKE VOLUMES TO US ABOUT THE HONESTY AND INTEGRITY OF MORRIS JENKINS. We will not hesitate to use them again.

Morris Jenkins was extremely professional, and did the work in a timely and efficient manner. They were here when they said they would be. The work was completed quickly. I judge the quality of work by contractors or any service provider by how many times I have to have them called back to redo something they left undone. But that was not the case. It worked well from the day it was installed.

So disappointed with this company - we have used them in the past to check and service our heating and air system and were always very satisfied . We had a service tech come out to get our furnace ready for winter, and he said that there were some problems - the control board was going bad, the blower assembly needed to be cleaned and the evaporator coils needed cleaning and/or replacement. at that point, it would have been a couple of thousand dollars of work, so he suggested replacing the system, so he sent someone out to give us an estimate. After we got the estimate ( over $10,000), we decided to get a second opinion. We called a person a friend suggested. He came out and told us that a board is either bad or good, not "going bad", the evaporator coil seal was never broken so no-one even looked at them and that our system, although old, was working fine. We feel so deceived by Morris Jenkins since we always thought they were very reliable and reputable. Their customer service is exceptional, but we will never contact them again.

I called another company when my air went out on a Friday evening, one of those days it was 100 degrees outside. Due to a couple of delays, it was hours after my original call before they actually showed up at my door. They came out, diagnosed the problem, but didn't have the part needed to repair my air on the truck. They said they'd check when they got back to the shop, but likely it would be Monday or Tuesday before they'd be able to get things up and running again. On Saturday with an expected high of 101, I looked at Angie's List and found a few different places to check out. Most of them were either closed for a weekend or had an additional charge for weekend service. I called Morris-Jenkins and scheduled a time for that afternoon (I had existing plans or they would have sent a person earlier). Tyler arrived about15 minutes into my window and got right to work. He verified the problem the other company found and said he had a universal part on his truck. Where the other company had said that because of the age of my unit, I might want to consider replacing, Tyler said as long as the unit is maintained and it wasn't one of the "big three" parts, it would be better to maintain than replace and just start saving for a replacement down the road (my unit is 11 years old). After discovering and eliminating a hornet nest, Tyler was able to make the repairs. I was so impressed with his work that I signed up for the maintenance plan and he performed the first seasonal maintenance and cleaning while he was there. I will definitely use Morris-Jenkins again, and I found them to be very professional. Although a little more expensive than the other quote I received from the first company, the fact that they had what I needed and were able to perform the repair quickly was a HUGE bonus, especially in record-breaking temperatures. From the first moment of my experience with Morris-Jenkins, it was a good experience. The office person I spoke with was wonderful and offered to put me on a "bump up" list if a technician became available before my scheduled appointment since I had already been without air for a day. If I hadn't had plans, I'd have taken that offer. When he left, Tyler left me a survey to provide back to the company about my experience.
Description of Work: They replaced some gizmo (I think a capacitor or something like that) performed an inspection, cleaned the unit, tested the freon levels, and finally checked airflow and cooling inside the house.
