While a company or product may meet our expectations, it is very RARE that they ever EXCEED them. Well.... Morris-Jenkins most certainly EXCEEDED every expectation. Our sales person, Jason, was professional & personable. He spent a considerable amount of time evaluating our system (which wasn't operating properly). He explained all of our options including the fact that our furnace looked fine and that we may get a few more years from it. We were shocked that he wasn't trying to "push" the sale or a ton of add on's (my husband and I are both in sales). Jason was genuine and presented all of our options, the costs associated with them, and answered all of our questions. We decided to do it right and just replace the entire system. They were able to install right away and our installers, Duane & Nick, were awesome! They arrived a few minutes early, rolled out their plastic & drop cloths, put their shoe covers on and went right to work. So friendly & professional. My husband is mechanically inclined and stayed home to keep an eye on things. He was floored by their expertise and precision. They worked diligently from the moment they got to our home until they were finished with our install - which took an entire day. Within minutes of completion, the on staff (not a subcontractor...very important) electrician, Paul, came by to install the surge protector and get the system running. Yet another courteous professional. WOW!! Thanks to everyone on the team, we had "Cool Air In Our House That Night" (their little jingle). When we called, there was always a "person" who answered the phone (no automated screenings). Tiffany from the office was awesome. She was prompt to get our paperwork delivered to us as promised. Another WOW! So my point here is that you may get lucky enough to work with one professional during the process of having a complete system replacement...but an entire team? Everyone working together efficiently? Everyone delivering on the promises made? Morris-Jenkins and their team did. Every step of the way - without fail. Now on to the icing on the cake ~ yes....there is more :)))) 1. We loved that they are a local business. They sell products made here in the USA. In fact, the Carrier plant is right here in Charlotte and employs over 200 people. We were thrilled to know that the money we spent was going back into our local economy by supporting local businesses. 2. Morris-Jenkins contributes to Habitat for Humanity and Levine Hospital. Neighbors helping neighbors. Again...supporting our community. 3. Morris-Jenkins pays their staff well. Maybe that doesn't affect us personally but it says alot about the character of the owner(s). It isn't all about profit margins and squeezing the working guy for all you can get out him. It is about treating your employees right. As a result, they have many staff members with 20 years of service. So in the end, it does affect us personally because we can rest assured knowing that those very employees care about their customers and doing a good job so they keep working. Very smart business practice that more companies should model in my opinion. 4. We received a 12 year parts AND a 12 year labor warranty. Of the 5 companies we had come by, Morris-Jenkins was the ONLY one who offered this. No one else even came close! And compare the warranties not just for duration but for what is / is not covered - it is a HUGE difference. In the end, we feel that we not only got the best value brand and service for our money, but that we were able to work with a local company that contributes to our community on many levels. We feel good about that! Then to have them EXCEED every expectation along the journey....we are THRILLED and would not hesistate for even a second to recommend them to a friend or family member.
Description of Work: Replaced the evaporator coils, the condensor unit, furnace, circuit board, dampers & damper motors, bypass vent. Also installed (2) new digital thermostats & a surge protector.

Their service is great!! Originally called because we had some mold spores in our floor vents and ducting. The tech Charles, came out next day and did a service on all units. Tech came back again on way home from last job because I called late asking for a more detailed inspection of my handler in the crawlspace. He was here almost 2 hrs inspecting and found our issue. He then set us up w/their estimator Jason who came out a few days and who also performed an inspection and gave us a few routes to remedy the problem. Work was done 2 days later and was so sufficient and quick. They are on the pricey side but everyone we dealt with was top notch.

It was a free estimate. I would tell people to call someone else. I was not happy with the guy who came to provide the estimate, he kept putting down other companies, and other units, trying to sell his. It was a turn off in the end when his was several thousand dollars more than even the next one. They came out quickly. I consider putting other companies down, not very professional.

Easily set an appointment and the salesman arrived on time, but unfortunately that was their best part. The sales person kept pushing a good/better/best sales model, but couldn't answer some simple questions on which models the units were for his good/better/best cost levels. He had to go out to his van to get additional literature to answer my questions. I was shocked when their cost estimate to replace our units was over 50% higher than the other 3 quotes I received. Needless to say, we did not use Morris-Jenkins.

The technician arrived ahead of schedule (nice) cam in and put on booties to keep our carpets clean (nice touch; didn't have to ask him to do it). Completed his inspection and AC tune up. Found the unit was overcharged with coolant (~1.5 lbs) and that there were cracks in our receiver and outlet ducts in the attic. He repaired both cracks and removed the excess coolant. The price for all the work was reasonable. Since then, the house has been cooler and the AC does not seem to be working as hard. Recommend using them, though they have a reputation for being pricey. Sometimes you have to pay to get good, reliable service. Morris-Jenkins is worth it.

Service tech noted a few issues with the unit which seemed a bit odd considering the unit would run intermittently. Pricing seemed high for his diagnosis of the problem (about 25% higher than competition). Came to find out the only issue with the unit was a burnt tip on one of the wires leading to the capacitor. Service tech instead of connecting back to capacitor simply laid wire back on the capacitor and quoted several hundreds of dollars to "fix" the unit. (Eventually the unit would have shaken the wire loose and the unit have down again because of this). Had another service tech with a different company show up the next day and he fixed the problem immediately. Unit is now running without having to perform any of the suggested "fixes" brought up by the original service tech. Seek at least another company to price check these guys and definitely seek a second opinion for diagnostics.

They're local to us. The quality of work was good. We just had one bad experience with a technician who didn't do his job properly. We cancelled the service with them. I really don't have anything negative to say about them.

Called them at 8p on a Saturday evening. They were busy but promised a rep would be out before 11p. Brent showed up at my house around 10p and I new I had the right guy and the right company on the job. He immediately diagnosed the problem (a faulty capacitor) and went to work fixing it. After he had fixed the problem, he ran through a series of diagnostic tests to insure the capacitor failure had not caused any other system problems. In and out in 45 minutes. Nicest tech you will meet and he is more knowledgable than anyone I have ever had out to the house. I now have a new HVAC company and I will be referring them to any and all friends.
Description of Work: A/C went out at my residence. Called my prior service provider and they were 1) RUDE, and 2) refused to come out on the weekend as I had not purchased their service contract. Called Morris Jenkins instead. The guy who took the call was extremely polite, listened to my issue, and promised he would get someone out to my house that evening. I now have a new "go-to" heating and air company.

Reno came out to replaced our Zone Damper Motor Assembly which was covered under warranty when we replaced our air conditioner in May. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and worked to fix our damper motor assembly so the air conditioning would work downstairs, He then checked it 10 times to make sure the new Zone Damper Motor Assembly was working properly. Thanks Reno for your hard work and staying up in our attic during this hot weather to fix our air!

After our ac unit broke down we called Morris Jenkins. Diagnosed that the capacitor was defect. He replaced it and charged 420,-. I had the feeling this was a bit steep but with a 2 year old and a 2 week old I went ahead with it. After they left I checked the internet and noticed I was charged double of the average cost listed on the internet. It's a 30-40 dollar part 20min work. In that 20min he also checked the pressure and did a sniff and advised to replace the entire unit or the evaporator coil for 8500 or 2750. Needless to say I did not follow his advise I will go price shopping.

Nothing just. I definitively think that the charge is..I definitively think that the price was also charged for the diagnostics as the first guy did to me. They tried to give a discount, but I think it was not an accident to charge me about that even though the woman apologized. They will not be my first choice any more. The lady was awesome . But, the two guys. Not.

Provider added Freon and the first pound was over $200. The tech was professional and gave the company profile, etc... The cost was really high. The tech also informed me I needed another part, which I did not purchase because the cost would have been over $800. For a $1000 or so more, I can probably purchase a new outdoor unit.

The tech (Mike) worked very hard to try to figure out what was making that loud noise and shaking sound. He came down and showed me my Blower Motor Capacitor and showed me how much the voltage should be and then showed me the voltage my Blower Motor Capacitor was producing. The part was not creating the proper voltage. Then when he replace the part and the AC blower came on the loud noise return and the blower wheel started shaking. He then went to order the part after discussing the situation and the cost of the part. He also checked my AC unit and found that the unit needed refrigerant and replaced. Then he told me that it would take 2 working days to get the part in and that Morris-Jenkins Customer Service Department would call and set up a time for him to return on Friday or Saturday. I appreciate Mike trusting me that something was not correct and taking the time to figure out the problem. I would have never guessed it was in our furnace.Thanks Mike!
Description of Work: The service tech had to disconnect voltage wiring from Capacitor. Remove old capacitor and install a new Capacitor. Inspect wiring and replace as needed. He had to order a new blower wheel to replace the defect part that was shaking and making loud noises. Perform leak search to detect and identify source of refrigerant loss using electronic leak detector. Install first pound of refrigerant.

I have been using them for more than 3 years. They are always good and do a good job. They have an evaluation and they are really good about explaining it. They come out twice a year to inspect the furnace and air conditioning.

Things went very well. The job was excellent. I felt the price was reasonable. I would recommend their customer service. They also work off hours; they are available pretty much anytime. I was able to schedule and they showed up for an appointment the same day.

What was very disappointing is we just purchased this unit from them about 6 years prior. (It's a York). It turned out there was a defective part. They did negotiate with the manufacturer to extend the warranty on this so the part was free. However we still had to pay on labor which was costly. I really didn't think we would have to spend so much money in such a short after purchasing the unit. We also had to spend 500 on the heating unit this past winter - can't remember the issue.
Description of Work: They originally came out for a checkup of our heating and cooling system. They discovered an issue with the cooling system that would have been a lot more expensive to fix if we had not discovered it.

It went very well. The gentleman was very nice, professional and able to answer all of my questions. He made reccomendations without being overly pushy. He fully explained what he was doing / did. I was very happy with the overall service provided. He was about 30 min. late, but he did call in advance to let me know.
