Service 7 days a week with no extra charge for evenings or weekends. Our office is open and fully staffed 6 a.m. to midnight every day of the week. Seriously - call in on a Friday night, say at 11 p.m. and you will talk to a real Morris-Jenkins employee, not a call center who doesn't really know our company, our employees or how everything works! We also provide 24 hour emergency service if you have a problem in the middle of the night. 704-424-9959 We stand behind our work and all repairs are guaranteed for a full 2 years (refrigerant and condensate leaks not included). We tell you the price up front, before we begin the work, and we stick to it. We charge by the job, not the hour, so you pay the same no matter how long it takes us to do the work.

It went well. The repairman (Cody) was very friendly. He even played with my dog a couple of minutes and made her feel comfortable. Little did I know she was eating my spaghetti while I was outside talking to him. LOL. ANYWAYS, he made a couple of adjustments to my furnace and was very helpful educating me about how my furnace and air functions. I was afraid that the people working in my crawl had damaged the air conditioning lines, but he explained to me that the wires and hoses for the AC didn't run under the crawl and went under there with me to explain that fact. He told me that Duke Energy may have done one of those energy conservation 'events' . I called Duke Energy the next day and sure enough that is why the air wasn't working. I have only been in the house a few months and didn't know about that. All was not lost though, because the people from Morris Jenkins were great and I found a good HVAC company to work with in the future. The cost of the call was only 89.00 which I thought was very reasonable and he arrived 2 hours after I called. Excellent service.

I've been an advantage member for several years, which means I get an annual spring and fall inspection and cleaning of my HVAC system. Morris-Jenkins has never sent anyone who wasn't punctual, knowledgeable and extremely professional. This past spring check-up was no exception. In fact, Pat, who said he was fairly new with the firm, spend several hours tracing lines b/c of low Freon readings, and the fact that I told him the unit seemed to have to work hard (i.e. kept running without cutting off very often in order to keep my place cool) when it got so hot last summer. He was not able to find any leaks and told me he felt, since I had never had any Freon added in the 7 years since the unit was installed, that adding Freon was all that would be necessary. In the fall we'll see what the levels are, but so far, the unit has been cooling my place quickly and not running for so long. What impresses me is that a service tech could really tell me anything and I wouldn't know if it were right or not, so when a representative doesn't pad the bill, it definitely makes me trust and want to continue using them.

Sunday service call so my daughter expected to pay a premium. $600.00 for less than an hours worth of work and according to Google, parts would have cost me less than $100.00. Don't mind paying a time and a half rate for Sunday service but $500.00 labor for one hours work??? My daughter called their office to question the fees and they basically told her it is what it is. Angie's List shows the cost of this repair to be in the $200 range. Never again and she and I will convince as many people not to get ripped off by this organization.

I have used Morris Jenkins for heating and air conditioning. They were here last last year in 2014. I would give them a B just because of their prices. They sign you up for a monthly plan where they come out twice a year, they didn't come out in the summertime. They didn't come out. I don't know if I was suppose to be calling them or something. Interactions were fine. The work was good, fine. They are well known in Charlotte to be expensive. It's like $40 a month or something.

Perfectly. We are so grateful to a firm that provides this public service voluntarily and at no cost. He replaced the batteries in all our detectors (the chirping stopped) , had and was willing to install the multifunction detectors he had in the truck (combined smoke, heat, and CO2) and advised that for our safety the detectors we had were at their end of life and needed to be updated. Ryon was a perfect gentleman and a wonderful ambassador for Morris-Jenkins. Relationships are everything to us, we found a gem, and we want them on our team.
Description of Work: We had an irritating and unpredictably chirping smoke detector. In response to their offer to have you smoke detectors checked at no charge, my wife called before lunch and Ryon showed up same day promptly at three. He inspected all our units, noted that each was eight years old, and informed us that 8 years was about the upper limit of effectiveness.

The technicians arrived on a very cold day to replace my duct work. The lead installer discussed with me what they would be doing and how it was going to effect my heating availability. He proposed a method of installing the new duct work that would allow me to have heat over the nighttime as the install was going to require two days to complete. I appreciated the suggestion as I have 2 cats that I could not rehouse overnight and this install was going to be taking place during a very cold spell. The installers worked neatly and quickly. They assisted me in securing my foundation vents and even helped me when I discovered the cable had become disconnected under the house!! In other words, they went above and beyond to return my house to order and heat!!. Given the task of replacing all of the duct work in the attic and under the house, I felt that these installers did an efficient and quality job returning my house to more heat efficient. And it improved the air quality in my home. I have 2 grown children and a son in law with allergies and I believe they will be much more comfortable the next time they visit. And it makes it a much safer place for my grandson to come to visit also.
Description of Work: Morris Jenkins replaced the duct work in my entire home. I have used Morris Jenkins for my heating and air conditioning service provider for over 25 years. They installed my previous and current units and have consistently maintained my heating and cooling needs for over 25 years. A service technician discovered numerous breaches in my duct work which was severely impacting the quality heating and air quality in my home.

The technician talked about replacing the furnace more than how to fix the problem. He didn't seem like he wanted to fix the problem... just replace my furnace. He left and I got someone to fix everything for $200. Oh yeah. The Morris Jenkins tech charged me $90 or so dollar for looking at it, giving me half a diagnosis, before he started trying to sell me a new furnace. Nice!

I am a licensed electrician but my health is not good so I can't do it myself. The breaker cost about $8 and they charged us $300. They also wanted to change a capacitor that was weak and may cause trouble. I could buy it for $7. They wanted $200 to change that capacitor, which by the way, was not weak. They also wanted to replace my whole air conditioning unit. They checked my freon level and it was good. Within 2 weeks of them coming out, I was out of freon. I paid another contractor to put freon in it.

They have worked for us for years, literally. We held an annual contract with them to do our spring and fall air conditioner/furnace cleaning. Morris-Jenkins technicians that come out here to do the cleaning are superb and you could not ask for nicer guys. A couple of months ago they came out to do the cleaning and had some bad news for us that the furnace that was 10 years old was completely shot and needed to be replaced that day. We made an appointment with their salesperson that day and told them they could come to our house and we would talk about it. The guy came out that night and proceeded to give a five minute spiel about how great he was and a two second spiel on the unit that we could put in our house. The only one we could put in our house was $11,500. I had talked to my son who lives in Kansas City and works for a heating and air conditioning supplier about this and he subsequently was able to get the same unit Morris-Jenkins suggested for $4,600 including shipping to us and installation. During our meeting with the Morris-Jenkins salesperson he asked us if we were talking to any other companies about the furnace issue I told him I had talked to our son. He immediately closed his book and left, saying the would not be able to service any unit put in by someone else. He said to call us if we decided to go with him and never called back. Will I use Morris-Jenkins again? No. I have all the paperwork to prove it. When I say Morris-Jenkins their sales department lacks very much. Their pricing lacks very much because they are way overpriced. I will tell you that we did get a discount because of my son, but they still have to pay for their unit; they still made money off of it. To think that we paid $4,600 for a unit that Morris-Jenkins wanted to charge us $11,500 for makes me sick at my stomach. I would grade their service techs as exceptional. They are very nice, well mannered and professional men. If I were to grade their sales department it would be an F. I will never use them again. They respond immediately. We were told by the salesman that if we bought a unit from our son they would never be able to help us. We would never be able to buy a maintenance contract from them.

A month and a half after I bought my house, my H Vac system went out. So I had Morris-Jenkins come in and they said I needed a new unit. That it was not insured and that I had to pay like 13,000 dollars to get it redone. So he brought me to the back and showed me how it was leaking and how bad it was. I was so upset wondering where I was going to get the money to replace this whole unit. A friend of mine advised me to get a second opinion so she had her plumber come over and he told me that the leak was from the rain 2 days ago and there was nothing the matter with the unit. He used a 40 dollar something and tightened something and that was it and this is now 3 years later and there's nothing wrong with the unit. They were horrible, ripoff artists. They came pretty much right away and were punctual. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

I needed a new system, the salesman came promptly. He denigrated the competition and other brands of system. I considered this very unprofessional. When I asked questions on the systems, a brand that I had never heard of, he was very condescending. He left a quote but never called for a followup. They may be largest company, carry parts on the trucks but when the salesman seems to need to rely on talking down about the competition instead of the positives of the brands they sell it's a sad statement of ability. Needless to say I went with their competition.

Not very well. Should have been told that the freon was going to be gone by the morning before it was put in not afterwards. Was never told how much the freon is per pound. The least I could have expected is credit of $89.00 that was supposed to be for the diagnostics since it seems that I got 2 diagnostics. I think it is fair to let others know what to expect on a diagnostics call and if R-410A is needed.
Description of Work: Complete 1 System Diagnostic $89.00 Perform a thorough evaluation of the system to determine the source of the problem. Includes a free safety inspection to ensure the unit is operating within manufacturer’s safety specifications. Add 1st pound of R-410A Refrig 1.00 $236.00 Perform leak search to detect and identify source of refrigerant loss using electronic leak detector. Inspect the condensor coil, evaporator coil and filter for cleanliness and restrictions. identify evaporator metering device so that proper charging method may be used. Check air handler or furnace blower wheel for impairments to capacity and set airflow to recommended settings. Connect manifold gauges to high and low pressure service ports on the suction and liquid lines. Attach clamp probe thermometer to monitor temperature on the suction and liquid lines. Position digital scale to weigh in refrigerant charge. Cycle unit and allow adequate run time to reach stable operation. Connect refrigerant tank to manifold gauges. Monitor system pressures and temperatures as resfrigerant is added. Includes first pound of refrigerant. Refrigerant does not evaporate or wear out. A properly charged system should never be low on refrigerant unless there is a leak. A leak search and subsequent repair is recommended if your unit needs refrigerant. If you elect to just add more refrigerant the unit will continue to leak and Morris-Jenkins provides no guarantee on the refrigerant and/or any other damage to other system components and/or water damage to the structure. Additional R-410A Refrigerant 1.00 $75.00 Refrigerant does not evaporate or wear out. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED USE MORRIS JENKINS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I had already had my local guy assess the problem with my A/C unit which was a bad compressor. He did not have access to the parts on the weekend so I called MJ since they advertise they keep the parts on their trucks. When I called the dispatcher indicated that they keep 90% of parts on the truck so I gave it a shot. Technician was trying to sell me a new system on my porch even before seeing the non functional unit. After determining it was a bad compressor (already knew) immediately the Technician supplied the estimated price of a new compressor ~$4,000 which was about triple the actual price I paid to fix by someone else. Tech indicated he did not have the part on his truck and commented "The people on the phone don't know anything." This was irritating as the dispatcher just confirmed that they keep 90% on the truck. He then proceeded to tell me it didn't matter that he didn't have the part anyway because I would need the whole system replaced, the A/C unit and my heating unit that works just fine. When I questioned that assessment he pointed out a single tiny 1 inch by 1 inch spot on the unit that my dog had peed on which could have ruined the unit. With that comment I nicely asked him to pack up his gear an leave. My A/C is in working order with a replacement compressor that with total cost of $1400, all no thanks to MJ. I wish I had my $89 back...

They used a flagship line, they are a heavy advertising, they have attractive personnel. I am a priority advantage member. They came in with a better base scenario for the air conditioning. They will tell you which components they are using, what grades they and they will come off with the price in the book. They couldn't come out after giving them a 3 days notice. The company was founded by two career engineers. They worked professionally on the quality of the work. They were not able to come out to the customer. The people are polite and professional but that is not what I am paying for. They are timely and punctual but when you have an emergence they are not!

The Morris Jenkins techs were always nice and professional. They were very detailed about what my unit needed in way of repairs. My two issues with them were that their repairs were over priced. I got a second opinion on my units and that opinion said the same things were needed but were much cheaper to do the repairs. They did not know Morris Jenkins had been out so they didn't even know they are in competition with their quote. I had MJ out one last time (becasue I was paying a monthly fee for annual service and I was due the service again) - this time I had had the units fully repaired. But, they found new items that the system could use. They are constantly trying to "up sell" you and their prices are high.

Not well. Morris-Jenkins' commercials say not to turn on your air conditioner until you've had it serviced. So when I was told that the earliest service date I could get was June 10th, I was flabbergasted. I told them I was on their Priority Advantage Membership service plan and was told in return that this was the first service date for plan members - almost a month out. I got panicky because it's going to get pretty hot by June 10th. I repeated to the customer service rep (who shall remain nameless at this point because I'm afraid of retaliation-they have my credit card information in their system and know where I live) that I really had to wait until June for service? I got upset because here I've been paying this monthly service plan fee and I have to wait a month? That doesn't make me feel like I'm a priority to them at all! I was shocked by his attitude toward my panic. Instead of trying to calmly talk with me and to determine why I had gotten upset, his voice became loud, he kept interrupting me, and when I got actually mad at his behavior and told him that he wasn't being professional, he denied that and still continued to interrupt me and treat me badly. When he finally realized that I didn't think I could turn on the AC without it being serviced, his tone of voice was still negative as he told me that that advice was only for units that hadn't been serviced in years (which is not what the commercials say). By this time, I was so upset at how I was being treated that I decided I wanted to cancel all dealings with the company and find another HVAC service provider. I told him I wanted to cancel the service plan contract and asked when/if I had met my one year obligation. He said the contract rolled over a month ago and that I could cancel it at any time. So I told him I wanted to do that - cancel as of today 5/13/2015. He asked me why and if it was because of the service timing issue. I told him it was partly that and also because of his attitude. He proceeded to tell me, in what sure seemed to me to have been a belligerent voice, that he didn't have an attitude. When I said that he did, he continued with his raised voice and told me that the call was being recorded and would prove that he hadn't. I then asked for something in writing to confirm the cancellation. He said he would let someone in the priority plan group know to send a letter to me. He told me that I could call back and have someone else look up my record to confirm that the plan has been cancelled. I told him I still wanted it in writing. I just now received an email confirmation from him that my service plan has indeed been cancelled. I appreciate the quick in-writing cancellation follow-up but that doesn't negate the bad experience a whole lot, although I have moved them from Fs to Ds. For those of you new to Charlotte, Morris Jenkins is a very expensive HVAC company. The only reason I have used them for the 10 years I've owned my home is because they're the ones who installed the system for the previous owners. There have been other disappointing service issues with them over this decade but I've been too lazy to write reports on those and chalked them up to being just irritants. This guy's behavior today has finally pushed me to find a different HVAC company. I'll turn on my air conditioning later today and search Angie's List for other providers and read their reviews.
