Kevin James Landscape

The workers were excellent! They were on time and they were responsive. I wasn't 100% satisfied with the materials used. They did landscaping and some of the bushes did not grow, they died. I called them up and they were kind enough to come and replace them so the bushes are okay. I also had a tree planted, but I was not very satisfied with that. It didn't look like the tree is going to survive. I called them and they said it is going to be fine and I just have to wait. I think this is the third year and I am waiting for the spring to see some changes, but if I don't I am going to give them a call. If the tree doesn't grow and he won't replace it then I have a problem. I paid a lot of money for the work.

I was referred by a friend. He is very punctual. He cleans up after himself. I plan to continue using him.

We just decided to do a different project at that time. There was nothing wrong with his timeliness as far as providing us with an estimate. We just decided to do a larger scope of work that we wanted to do. He came out on time. He was punctual and professional. He gave me a good estimate. There was nothing wrong with his estimate. We just went with a different company.

It was good. He took down tall trees easily. He was nice and very easy to work with. The price was reasonable.

Kevin was quick to respond to our initial inquiry. He showed up promptly when he said he would to assess our situation. He listened to the problem, surveyed the area and offered his opinion of the best approach. He recommended a french drain that started 5-6 feet in front of the garage and ran the length of the garage front to back. He was thorough in his explanation and how he would ensure that the new drain would blend into the existing landscape. He followed up quickly with a cost estimate. When we called to schedule the service, Kevin let us know it would be 2-3 weeks before he could do the work - but he finished well before that. Kevin was professional, knowledgable, and a pleasure to work with. Since the new drain has been installed, our garage has remained dry in every rain.

Work went according to plan, quality is good. Very professional group.

Kevin personally came out and met with my wife and me to discuss our needs. Within a few days, he emailed us a design summary along with pictures and descriptions of the plants he recommended for our project and a contract price quote. His crews showed up when scheduled, worked hard and cleaned up after they were finished. We had a plant that was not thriving and called Kevin. He sent someone out to replace it free of charge. We had a problem with the landscape timer control not working. Kevin James again sent someone out to replace it. While he was there he replaced a light our pet had chewed up. We never received a bill for this follow up even though we should have and would gladly have paid it. We have recommended KJ Landscaping to several friends and neighbors.

It was pretty good. It was a good job. He was pretty amenable and fairly prompt. The price was pretty high. Initially, I thought the quality was an A rating. But 2 years down the line, there are a few things that I would say he probably could have done better.

Kevin was awesome. His entire crew was very professional. They were always on time and very reasonably priced. The results of the service exceeded our expectations.

Everything went great. He showed up when he was supposed and did everything he said he would.

It went well. The crew was cooperative and friendly. The city delayed marking the lines, especially the gas connection but there was plenty to do as it is a large yard. It took two and a half days but it was worth it. The drainage problem has been beautifully solved. As my yard slopes downward toward the back, the Bobcat was used to remold the landscape in areas not near the drain to slow future erosion. Kevin picked out some great boulders for the front natural area and it was total cooperation from both sides on all things, including rock placement.

Great. Excellent job at a reasonable cost.

Kevin arrived promptly at the prearranged time. He was personable and professional. He told me what his ideas were and that he would send me his proposal via e-mail. Kevin's proposal was received in a couple of days, along with links to photos of the proposed plantings (which were helpful). The proposal called for more of each plant than I felt necessary (considering the space available). I also found that his prices ($7850) for all plants and services were higher than others I had met with. I am sure that Kevin James would have done a great job, but since I don't plan on living in this home long term, I chose another very highly rated firm, who will charge quite a bit less for this work. If I was doing this landscape for the first time, I might have felt differently. However, I have redone this lot three times and was forced to be more careful with the cost this time around.

Generally, he's pretty willing to come out, and talk to you. He's a very friendly guy, and he makes suggestions. He follows up if we have a problem or we got a question about something. He follows up right away. It's just been an overall good experience. We felt that his prices are fair. We've done business with him, but I'm not sure whether it's the absolute best.

Kevin called me very promptly after I requested a quote on a landscaping project. While my particular project was not suited for their services, I appreciated the prompt response.

Kevin was quick to respond to our initial contact, to do an on-site evaluation, and to provide us with an estimate. He was accurate in his explanation of how long the actual work would take to complete as well as the description of the crew that would be onsite and of the work that would need to be done. He said it would take a couple of weeks to actually get on the schedule, which it did, and as that time passed we began to wish we'd had a more specific target date. That being said, he wasn't 'absent' in the interim at all; we were able to communicate with him about how the schedule was firming up ... so no real issue there. We were totally pleased with the professionalism of the crew that actually did the work. We work out of our home so that matters a great deal to us. They were courteous, arrived on time, and tidied up when they left. We've had a few summer downpours already since the work was completed and the difference is amazing. No more mud pit (sorry puppies). As of this writing, the work they did seems to have completely resolved our issues and the river rock they added makes the whole thing look great. Money well spent. We look forward to working with Kevin James Landscape in the future.

This is the second project that Kevin has done for us. He earned all A's before and performed work this time at the highest rating again. Kevin and his team delivered high quality work, professionalism throughout and top notch customer service. When talking through different options for solutions Kevin posses the right combination of experience and creativity but he still embraces the customer's opinion and questions and works with you to come up with a solution that you feel comfortable with. His team delivered a high quality drain system that has fixed a previously saturated and flooded back yard. One section of the drain system wasn't quite delivering like it was supposed to, so he had Andy and team return to repair that section with a much more involved solution at no additional cost. His entire team works hard and works well. Some of the work is a little pricey but it is high quality work and he will work with you to cut the project scope in order to save cost. I would absolutely use Kevin again.

Went great! He got grass to grow in places other landscapers told us to put pine straw. We will definitely use him again!

Start to finish was great. Kevin is great to work with and his team that came to our home to do the actual work were professional and efficient. While we're still waiting for the flowers to come out (thank you for the cold spring!), we know it will be beautiful for many years to come.

Overall it went better than we had expected, and we were very pleased. Kevin came by very prepared to show all the different ways the lighting could be arranged, given our landscape layout and the direction the front of our house was facing. He was very professional and patiently answered all our questions. He spent good two hours explaining various scenarios and options. He did not pressure us at all about making a hurried decision. In fact he insisted we take all the time we need and think over it. We selected an option that suited us best in terms of our budget and features and decided to go ahead with the project. On the appointed day, he was on time with all the bulbs and electric parts he needed to start his work. He spent quite a long time getting the layout as promised and just right. The next day, which was a saturday, he called to find out if everything was working as expected and told us not to hesitate to call him if we had any questions. My wife and I are very pleased with his professionalism and his work, and we will most definitely recommend him very highly. In fact, my daughter is already thinking about using his services for her house.

I was really happy with him. He was great. He was prompt in returning the calls and scheduling the work. The work was done when he said it would be. I didn't’t have to worry about a thing. It was a wonderful experience.

My experience with this company was GREAT!!!. They showed up on time and performed what was asked in an extremely professional manner. I would recommend them to anyone.

He came and marked out what his people were supposed to do and they did it. However, he wasn't back here after they've finished for me to talk to them. I am going to call him pretty soon for that.

From the time of the first estimate to the tme the work was completed there was good communication. Kevin's work crew does the daily day-to-day work and are professional in every way. No loud music, a "Hello!" when they see you and are ready to answer any questions and show you what they are doing. Kevin stops by dexplain anaily to check on the work and speak with the home owner to make sure their expactations are being met.. I thought the price was rather on the high side BUT one must ask, "Could I do the work myself?" and the answer is a resounding "No!". Too, I am not familiar with the cost of materials and of course that must be factored into the overall price. On the other hand I fully believe Kevin when he says the work is guaranteed for life (his not mine). When you're having a retaining wall built that is holding back tons of soik, the last thing you want is a blow-out of the wall with subsequent spilling of dirt. Therefore, it was my decision to pay a little more and have the job done correctly.

The only reason why we decided not to go with him, was the high price. I don't want to go into great detail, but I was very displeased with him. He does the policy of charging for making a quote and I ended up paying a $150 for no services performed. He did do a lot of work to prepare the quote, but I didn't like having to pay $150 for it. In fairness to him, they charged for his time. He quoted along with two other companies. The other two companies did not charge for their quotes and when I decided to go with another company because he is too high, he sent me a bill for a $150 for his time for the quote. I can't say anything about the quality or the professionalism because it was only a quote process.
