Hughes Floor Covering

Let me say, this has been my best home improvement experience to date. This is a family owned company. They were honest from start to finish, appreciated our business and did an excellent job!! They gave us fair prices for good products and excellent workmanship. I will use Hughes again!

I was overall satisfied with the job done except for the finishing techniques,replacing of shoe moldings, a little unevenness in the tile floor in the kitchen and glue still on the hardwood floor that I still cannot get up. I felt like they dropped the ball on the finishing. The gentleman that did the majority of the work was Justin and he would not stick to the schedule he told me. I had the owner come out and he agreed to fix it and Justin came out again and basically tell me he would not do it. I asked them to seal the grout and they refused to do this as well. This went back and forth at least 3 times. They had a new guy work on my closet on the floor and their were issues with this too. I have a new person that came out and has repaired and replaced all of the molding. We found that Justin actually nailed into my fiberglass tub. The molding around my fireplace was so bad that it was lifted off the floor and it was cracked and the miters did not match, it looks so much better now. I felt like I should not have had someone else come out and complete all of the work Hughes Floor Covering should have done. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Angie was very nice and helpful in picking out the carpeting we wanted. We met with her several times. We wanted to give her our business. Her price was significantly higher than their main competitor for the product we wanted. After requesting a lower price, she realized that she has measured the job incorrectly. Once she corrected her measurements, she offered the same price as her competitor. We ordered the carpet from her. I was told that the carpet was back-ordered and would be a week or two before they could get it in. What they didn't tell me was that once the carpet came in, we needed to wait another two weeks before their installers were available. This was disappointing, as we wanted the installation asap. Johnny and a partner came to install the carpeting. They could not have been nicer. They were very friendly, professional, and generally helpful. They installed about half the carpet on the first day and finished on the second day. There was a glitch in that they were unaware that the runner was to be bound. I called Angie and she had not remembered that there was a runner, but she arranged for the Binder to come out on the second day to bind the runner before they installed it. That all went very smoothly. Angie then contacted me and reported that because of the carpet we had chosen, it wasn't necessary to bind. We were happy with the bound carpet. Apparently, we were not charged for the binding. We are happy with the carpet and with the installation. While I might use this provided again, I might give their main competitor a try too.

Very smooth overall. We were sold a top-quality product at a slightly lower price than anywhere else we'd researched, and the difference in our home is astounding. The installers were highly experienced and knowledgeable and the sales staff were excellent to deal with also. We've referred several friends there already, after seeing our floors!

Tim came out to the house, took measurements, did not bring wood samples. He made a second trip with the samples, and his price. Which was more than $3000 over 3 other estimates we received. We thanked him, and told him he was way out of price range. He then called us back, with his price comparable to the others we received. We did not use Hughes.

They are very good. They have done work for me here and also at my lake house. The price varies with the type of material we choose. We picked out the material from their showroom. In my lake house they replaced the flooring in 2 large rooms. One of the rooms was very large. They removed the carpet and put in a floating floor. They are very easy to do business with. They let us bring all the samples we want home. We can try them out in our home place to see how the color works. They do their own measuring. When they do the work, they are in and out. They are very professional. I would use them in future if I need to without looking for an alternative.

I think this company was not interested because I was looking at vinyl flooring and I got the impression they were interested in a more expensive bigger job. I will have another company do the work.

I was very pleased with their services. I liked their salesman because he was so easy to work with. I changed my mind about what I wanted and within 24 hours it wasn't a problem. I got exactly what I had hoped for. The installers were wonderful. They were a husband and wife team who worked well together. They were in and out in the matter of hours. Although he measured the area correctly, he didn't calculate the cost correctly. They never questioned me and fixed the problem immediately. I had a little trouble getting the refund check back because the owner was out of town. After a while, we got it all under control.

They were very good. They showed up on time and got the job done.

The installation of the floor was done professionally. It was a high quality workmanship. The workers were respectful of my space and possessions. Hughes has a great selection of products. The sales people are wonderful to work with. The man who repaired my carpet was wonderful. You couldn't even tell where the repair had been made. I was extremely pleased with the work. There was no hesitation to come do the work.

Hughes has handled the all my flooring needs for more than 15 years. They always do an excellent job and are my single source for flooring.

I have used this company before and used them to install the original laminate floor. But we hit a glitch when we discovered the laminate was discontinued. They worked with the manufacturer to try to locate any remaining supplies, but to no avail, so we worked to find a suitable match to complete the repairs.

Measurements were completed the same day we were in the store. The crew was on time, professional, cleaned up well, and were finished earlier than expected.

It was a very good customer experience. Angie helped us make the right choices for our home and and the installers (Marvin and crew) were great. We love our new floors and couldn't be happier.

I e-mailed to schedule for estimate but never heard back. Got another company who did a great job for $3,400.00; whole house installation of laminate flooring.

It went wonderfully. They were very prompt they got here when they said they would, they cleaned up nicely and they were very professional installers. They helped move the heavy furniture around without complaining.

Jeff, the salesman, was extremely kind and very professional and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable during the process.

They were nice because it got drawn out longer because of a personal injury, and they were OK with us not paying until the work was done. I actually had them come back to do some trim work. It all worked out fine.

Sales and in-house measuring was done professionally. After mentioning "Angie's List", and some negotiating, a reasonable discount was obtained. Scheduling was somewhat tedious. BEST PART was the installation by Johnny and his mate. The installation on the stairs was difficult, but Johnny did a great job in making it right.

We were very happy with them. Only downside was that they didn't put the stove back properly so the door wouldn't open correctly and we had a hard time getting them to come out and fix it. But they eventually did come out and fix it.

All work was performed without any issues.

Hardwoods installed opposite direction we requested. Sales person told us they could something they could not only to find it out once it was time to install. Had to replace carpet upstairs b/c tile guys got grout all over it. Tile guy disappeared after 2nd day and left us for a week with no toilets in the bathrooms. Tile grout was all cracked and we had to call for days to get them to come and redo. Owner felt it was sufficient to take off a whopping $100 off a $10k bill for all these issues... What an insult. I'd never have my worst enemy use these people.

They are very good. Always there when they say they will. Offers many different varieties of flooring.

If Hughes was the lst place we saw, we would have walked out. As we knew what we wanted, price range, etc. we didn't. Jeff Hughes was very sketchy in info- pre-/post-sale pricing, carpet info, financing details, etc. They had best (fabulous) pad ("Green Pad"), installed price in line w/competition, same-as-cash financing, we bought. Scheduled install 12/06, didn't say it'd take 2+ days. Installer sub Johnny Cannon was fabulous. Gave cleaning tips, excellent job on a very difficult stairway/carpet combo, personable, professional, did all but two closets. When flooring was installed next to closets, we tried Hughes to schedule finish. Jeff & his sister were impossible to reach & deal with. Sent Johnny on wrong day & tried to tell us otherwise. We still have no info on where to send balance due. Asked for cork price twice- never got info. Johnny finished closets after weeks pushing Hughes. Now we'd buy elsewhere & call Johnny to install. Work quality mark is Johnny's.

Excellent from start to finish. Tim Brown in Sales was very helpful, the job was done sooner than originally planned. The installation crew were efficient, professional and cleaned up after the job. The price was competitive with the on sale price at the local big box building supply store.
