They did a very good job and I was very happy with their quality of service. I have been using them for a very long time and would recommend them to anyone.

As I recall they were not the highest estimate which is good. They cleaned up more of the debris than most of the stump removal companies I'd seen around the neighborhood. I would hire them again.

I called Heartwood on Thursday afternoon and Peter Grisewood, a certified arborist for Heartwood, came the next day to give me an estimate. Pete asked a lot of questions about what we were trying to achieve by removing several small to medium-sized trees at the front of our property (more sunlight to keep the lawn healthy) and marked the trees with tape so we could get a better visual on what the area would look like with the trees gone. He also gave me his qualified opinion about a huge tree at the back of the house that was showing signs of decay near the base. Pete confirmed our suspicions that the tree was a risk to fall and would likely go through the house when it did. Pete gave me a very competitive quote and said they could schedule the job within a week to 10 days. The work began a week later and Pete returned the day the job started to make sure the crew understood what needed to be done. It took them about a day and a half to remove all the trees. They could not use their big boom truck for the large tree near the house because of where it was located so it was done completely by hand. Clean-up was excellent. Except for the ground stumps and greater sunlight hitting my lawn, you can't tell that we had any work done. I will definitely call Heartwood for any future tree work. It is a first class outfit.

Incredible experience with Pete and Heartwood Tree! At 4pm on Tuesday, a tree fell on my home. By 4:45pm, Pete had arrived to look over the damage, gave me an estimate and told me they would take care of everything on Wednesday. By 3pm Wednesday(when I arrived home from work), the tree was removed, including all the broken branches and debris on the ground. I couldn't have been more pleased by the response, professionalism, and quality of work by Pete and his crew.

Great, very professional and clean job, I didn't even know they had come out (minus the missing trees).

Peter came over to discuss the work. He was very punctual and working with him was great. My husband hates having the trees pruned because he thinks the trees always get butchered. Peter was very patient listening to the concerns. We agreed on the work to be done. The crew was out the week after we approved the work. The crew was very punctual as well and when I came home I couldn't even tell they had been there, other than the work had been done. There was absolutely no mess. The stump grinder came the next week and had the same experience with him. Very punctual, professional and no mess! Will definitely use them again!!

They were a little higher priced than others, but they were very good. There was a guy named Steven that came over, and he told me what I needed to do and what I didn't need to do. It was right after a drought and they gave a bunch of advice and were very professional and helpful. They gave us a good deal on removing a tree that was in the way.

Heartwood was most impressive from start to finish. An arborist came to my house the same day I called. He was extremely professional and thorough in explaining my options. After we agreed on scope and price, his crew came about two weeks later and did a great job.

We've used them for other jobs in the past as well as this one & have always been well satisfied. They're extremely knowledgeable, well equipped & professional. We'll definitely use them the next time we need help.

The arborist who came to consult with us is very knowledgeable and interesting as well as professional. When it became evident that we did need the work done (months after the first, free consultation), I arranged for a second check of the situation, and an estimate, after which we agreed to have the work done. The team came on time,the work was well done, the clean-up afterwards was excellent -- very pleased. The price is high, but it is difficult to get at the slender ends of very long, high branches, and I wanted it well done, so we paid. This company is worth it.

The experience was good, no complaints. I would use him again. All the things you hear about other companies; them not being reliable does not fit the bill for them. He was on time, courteous and polite. I felt like they gave us a good advice.

The did a pretty good job. They were professional. The guy was very helpful explaining everything. I was going to use them for tree removal but they were a little pricey so I had someone else do it and remove them. They are very punctual, knowledgeable and courteous. They had pretty good organization. My wife and I were just on a tight budget and had to go with someone else. We were forced to hire the cheapest people. We paid for that. He cut the trees down but didn't stack the trees. I ended up having to pay someone. If I would have known the aggravation I would have had to go through paying cheaper companies; I would have just told them to do it. I am sure they would have done everything the way they were supposed to. I called them after looking at Angie's List. I liked that they responded to everyone respectfully even to those who chose no to use them. They have very good customer service. I regret not having them do everything even though they were a little pricier.

The last time I was not as happy as I had been previous time. I had wanted a tree cut to be level so I could put a bird bath on it. They rounded it to follow the hillside. The supervisor forgot to tell the worker. That was annoying. They are very expensive which was more annoying. I use them because I found them through Angie's List and everyone liked them so much. They have come to evaluate dying trees and they have been very responsive. Usually the service is better. This time the guy just did not listen to me. The communication was not real good. They also fertilized the trees. They did a good job on that.

They did great work. They cleaned up good and they showed up on time. Everything was right on schedule. I would use this company in the future.

Heartwood Tree Service was very responsive when we called for their service. The work was smooth and uncomplicated. I was extremely satisfied with the work that was done and I would hire Heartwood again.

I made an appointment for an estimate. Heartwood's representative, Steven Zimmerman, arrived precisely on time, and checked out my trees. He indicated that although they did have a fungal infection, that this was common to this species of tree, and that both were actually quite healthy and were doing fine. He gave me a few tips for ongoing maintenance of the trees, and asked me to give them a call if I had any future needs. There was no charge, and I really appreciated his expertise and interest in preserving the health of the trees. Heartwood will certainly be at the top of my list for future tree work!

A three man crew spent four hours in 30 degree weather pruning, shaping and removing dead branches from 42 trees in our yard. One man climbed trees to remove branches 20 feet high. They put all limbs through their wood chipper, raked the yard and cleaned debris from the street. Light can get through the branches, the trees are no longer grown together and the yard looks so much better.

It went excellent. I found them a little expensive but if I had the money at the time I would have went with them.

They came quickly to do the estimate and bumped our job up to the next day. They brought in a crane, cut it down (leaving the stump - that's extra). While they were here, they cut a large chunk out of a very thick vine on another tree so the vine would die and the tree live. They did that for free. Higly recommend them. Compared to other estimates we got for the same job, they seemed more interested in preserving the health of the trees instead of just taking our money. Their price was a lot better than the other companies and they discussed safety hazards (power lines) which no one else did. Use them!

The entire project was discussed and refined with Pete Grisewood from Heartwood a week prior to the actual work. The day of the work, Pete met with the crew to verbally pass on all vital information, not just the paperwork description of work to be accomplished. The project went very smoothly without any problems. Site cleanup was done perfectly and the job was finished under the quoted budget. Wow. I couldn't have been more impressed with Heartwood, Pete and the crew.

I have used them several times and I like them a lot. They are punctual, conscientious, and efficient. As far as the cost, I don't know, because they are pretty much the only ones I have ever used. They do a good job.

The service was excellent, very professional. They run a very efficient operation and provide more comprehensive follow-up and guarantees than other operators.

I used this company before about two years ago and I have used them before that. I really have used them for about 20 years, ever since we moved to Charlotte. I have always been happy with the work that they do.
