They came out and gave a quote. Very professional and helpful answering any questions I had. Went with a smaller company who quoted a lower price to remove the tree.

The trees came with a two year warranty, and one of them died about a year after we first got it. (Probably due to the heat wave last summer.) Heartwood honored the contract with absolutely no hassle. They replaced our tree with one that matched the living tree for free - when they were only required to replace it with a tree that was the size as it was originally planted. They were professional and friendly, a pleasure to work with.

Late one afternoon, a landscape person in my yard noticed that a tulip poplar was making cracking noises as the wind blew. It became obvious that the tree was in imminent danger of falling. Heartwood interrupted a sales meeting to send someone out immediately for an estimate. By the end of the day, 3-4 different Heartwood employees (including the owner, Patrick George), arrived to help tape off the tree area, alert immediate neighbors, and schedule removal for the next day. Due to rain the next morning, the removal was delayed by a couple of hours, but I was called to be informed of the delay. The removal took almost 4 hrs, was done very efficiently without any climber in the dangerous tree by using a boom & a spyder. Everything was cleaned up and hauled off. It was a prime example of the professional and efficient work that Heartwood does!

Overall, the experience was excellent. The technicians did exactly what they said they were going to do; we didn't have any problems with them. I'm happy with their services and I would recommend them to others.

He came promptly, gave me lots of free advice on my trees and yard, told me to call back if the trees worsened or I needed any more help, and left. Did not charge me at all. He is very knowledgeable about and interested in landscaping, plants, and the environment.

They are more expensive, but the percentage difference was minor, especially given the experience - absolutely worry-free. We'd learned our lesson after a horrible experience with a much cheaper tree service recommended by a neighbor. Heartwood is professional, INSURED, experienced and fast. There is no mess and your property is not a disaster for a week.

Their reputation is accurate -- they are expensive, but they are the best. Everyone was punctual, the job was performed very well, they answered my questions on several areas of tree health, even pruned back some smaller trees for me at no extra cost. They also cleaned up very well when they left, which made them an "A+" with my wife.

The maple tree that shades my front yard developed a large hole where a previous limb had been cut off, and it looked bad enough that I was concerned the tree needed to be cut down. But I wanted someone with knowledge and experience to tell me first if there was anything that could be done to save it. Some tree companies would have just given me an estimate to take it down, but I noticed several reviews that mentioned Heartwood's concern for taking care of trees, not just taking them down. One of their certified arborists, Steve Zimmerman, checked it out: he took the time to show me why the damage wasn't as bad as I had thought and to make some recommendations for care. I really appreciate his help and his caring attitude. And I plan to have Heartwood do some trim work on a tree in my backyard later this year.

Patrick George came to my house right on time. Answered all questions thoroughly. He explained work and followed up with easy to understand written estimate via email. All work was completed on time and my yard was totally clean. I've used Heartwood before and don't even think about using a different company. They are great and very nice. Also, they love trees and love to educate about them. I really like this company.

Very well! The only minus was I had to call to get the exact date when they would show up. It would have been nice to have gotten a courtousy call or email to let me know when the crews were going to show up. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience. I would certainly hire HeartwoodTree again. It was pretty evident they are very passionate about trees!

Their estimate was four times greater than the highest estimate I had already received. He was extremely polite and very professional, and had no qualms with me telling him he was over priced. I decided to take my business elsewhere.

The crew arrived when they said they would, did what they said they would do, and charged what they said they would charge. They left no mess, and didn't do any harm to other plants in the yard.

Professional start-to-finish. Pete's initial asessment was right on - he didn't try to oversell us and recommended taking down the obvious problem trees, living with it for a year and then re-evaluating next year if we wanted to take down any more. Together, we decided to take down 8 trees in total, 2 of which were huge oaks precariously overhanging the house. The crew did fantastic work, handling the entire job in a single day, followed by a worker the following week to grind down the stumps. Despite the large machinery, very little damage was done to the lawn and the site was cleaned up nicely. Along with the additional pruning to the remaining trees, the amount of additional light now entering the home is dramatic. We won't hesitate to use Heartwood in the future. Thanks again.

Pete came out and gave me an estimate at a pre-arranged date/time. He was on time and very professional. The estimate seemed reasonable. I was worried about the dead pine and it's proximity to my house and my neighbor's houses. Heartwood was able to do the work a little early due to a cancellation; I really appreciated that! The crew showed up at the appointed time. They were very professional. They used a really cool piece of equipment to remove the dead pine tree. I think it was called a spider. It enabled them to work on the dead tree safely - in a tight space. The crew cleaned up the work area when they were done. This is the second time I've used Heartwood and I was extremely pleased with the experience both times.

He was very professional and he knows his business. He is very upscale. He is a true arborist and I am excited to start working with him. He was punctual for our appointment. I was so impressed with his knowledge of plants and trees. The price he estimated seems very reasonable for the work.

I didn't know to ask about stump removal with the initial estimate and contract. Had to separately contract for that later.
