Description of Work: Our experience with Guthmann was absolutely top notch from start to finish. Rich Guthmann came to estimate two projects at our home - a master bathroom rennovation that we were considering because the fiberglass shower tray had cracked and needed to be repaired quickly, and replacing two walls on our screened porch. In the interest of saving usmoney, Rich referred to master bathroom project to another company that could repair our existing shower tray for a fraction of the cost of replacing it. He called the company, got an estimate and then gave us the information - all as a courtesy, knowing this was taking away from his business. Incredible, expecially in this economy. We did contract with Guthmann to rebuild our screened porch, which was quite a small project in size. Regardless of this, throughout the entire process, the crew at our home was extremely professional and prompt. Communication was outstanding - we knew who was coming, when they were coming, what they were going to be doing, etc. They cleaned up after themselves. They were meticulous with the carpentry. They were on site when any sub-contractors were present. They vastly exceeded our expectations. We would strongly recommend Guthmann Construction and would use them again without hesitation.

+ 0 moreI had the most wonderful experience working with Rich Guthmann and John Craig at Guthmann Construction over the past few months. They are top notch professionals who walked me through the process, were patient with me during my contractor "bake-off," met with me several times about my project during the planning and design phase, and suggested wonderful subs. Unfortunately, my budget was greatly impacted by the economic downturn and their quote was on the high end of my budget range. It was a tough decision to make financially and I decided to go with a different, yet also reputable, Angie's List contractor. I would not hesitate to work with Guthmann Construction in the future if I had the budget. They would be well worth the investment and a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Estimate for remodel of kitchen, mudroom, laundry room, dining room and powder room. Estimate excludes appliances and cabinets.

Description of Work: We had a bedroom addition done with this company. I am not sure of the square footage of the room, but it is a good size. There was also a walk-in closet installed as well as renovations in the bathroom. There were about 8-10 outlets installed as well, as 1 ceiling fan and different light fixtures throughout. There were new fixtures installed in the bathroom as well.

+ -1 moreI would give them an A+. They have wonderful communication skills and excellent follow up. They also completely stand by their work. They use only first rate subcontractors who are professionals in their field. Everything they did turned out beautiful. They made this process an easy one.
Description of Work: Guthman Construction completely remodeled my kitchen & bathroom. They put in all new plumbing in the walls and new piping under the sinks. They also added all new countertops, cabinets and fixtures. I am really not too sure of the size of the two rooms though.

+ 4 moreI am very satisfied with the work done on my bathroom. Right from the start, they were always upfront on time frames and told us when the subs would be coming. They always put plastic all through our home so they did not soil our carpets or damage walls bringing supplies in. I felt that they were very mindful of my belongings. They did a thorough clean up everyday before leaving, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: Guthman Construction completely remodeled a large master bathroom dating from the 1950's. They had to use a jack hammer to get all of the old pink tiles off the walls and floor. They hung all new drywall, new tiles on the floor, new plumbing, electrical, sink, vanity, toilet, and shower.

+ -1 moreI was very happy with their expert craftsmanship. Everyone was a delight to talk to and deal with. I was impressed with the fact that when I had asked them questions, they had quick, detailed answers for us. Our kitchen turned out exactly how we wanted it to look.
Description of Work: Guthmann Construction remodeled our entire kitchen from top to bottom. They tore out the old flooring and laid new tile flooring. We had them tear out the old counters, cupboards, and hooded vent system. They then installed everything new from the cupboards to the vent system perfectly. There were a total of four new outlets installed also. My kitchen is about 400 square feet.

+ -1 moreThe workmanship in the kitchen is great. All the subcontractors seemed to arrive at the proper times. Everything went very smoothly. We did not have any major bumps in the road. I was very happy with the service. I do not know the total price. We paid in installments and I just do not know what it all added up to. I am sure it was a fair price for the beautiful kitchen that we got.
Description of Work: Guthmann Construction was the contractor for our kitchen remodeling project. They oversaw the complete project. They hired my subcontractors for the various jobs. They hired plumbers, electricians and a cabinetry company. They laid ceramic tile floors and the countertops were granite. We also installed all new appliances.

+ 3 moreWe had this company come very highly recommended by a few families that have already used their services. Everyone was so polite and friendly. We were treated with a great deal of respect by everyone involved. They worked very hard and fast. They were so good that they had the entire project completed almost a full month ahead of schedule. They had one of the better price quotes we had received. We will definitely be using this company again in the future. They even did follow up calls to make sure we had no problems or questions.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen, main bathroom, and a small den completely remodeled by Guthmann Construction. They tore out the old kitchen cupboards and the entire counter and replaced it with all new Oak cupboards and shelves. They installed a new ceramic tile countertop and ceramic tile up the back wall of the countertops. They sanded the walls down in both the kitchen and den and repainted them both. In the bathroom, they tore up the old flooring and laid new tile flooring. They added new paint, trim, and wall borders in the bathroom.

+ -1 moreThis was a huge renovation. This company did a fantastic job. I really can't say enough good about them. They showed up wearing smiles and completed their work on time. They charged us decent rates and they communicated with me. I honestly can't recall what the exact amount we paid in total for the work but I think it was around eighty thousand dollars.
Description of Work: This company remodeled our kitchen, bathroom and laundry room area. I am not sure how large that area is but it is fairly large. We live in a five bedroom, five bathroom house. They did everything from installing kitchen cabinets to putting in hardwood floors for us. They also took care of all of the drywall work, electrical fixtures and the plumbing systems. They hooked up all of our appliances, sinks and toilet.

The guys we were in contact with were descent to deal with and I was happy with their professional attitudes. I was especially happy with the fact that there was no hang-ups that kept the project from getting done on time.
Description of Work: Guthmann Construction remodeled our main bathroom totaling about 160 square foot. They added a new toilet, a new sink, a cabinet, and a new bathtub shower liner.

+ 3 moreThis is a terrific company to deal with. We are right now in the middle of our second remodeling project with them. There is a high level of customer service. Their crews are well supervised. They take care of every detail for you. We have never had a complaint about our kitchen.
Description of Work: They did a complete remodel of our kitchen. I am not sure of the measurements of it but it is large in size. I have all new electrical wiring and plumbing in the walls. They installed thirty new solid wood cabinets and over fifteen feet of new solid surface counters. There is also new flooring, lighting and appliances.

They made a luxury addition with extras like heated bathroom floors and trey ceilings. It is very beautiful. They remodeled our kitchen in the past so we knew what kind of workers they were. Description of Work: Guthman Construction remodeled our upstairs 12 x 14 foot bathroom. The room was stripped down to the bare studs before they dry walled, installed the ceiling and floor. They also did all the electrical work. They put in new switches, an outlet and a ceiling light.

+ 1 moreRichard Guthmann and staff have been very courteous. He was the only contractor I talked to that was able to provide me with the cultured marble walls I was looking for. Compared with the other contractors who bid on the job, the cost was average compared to quotes to do tile. David, our project manager, was very responsive when it came to any problems that arose. One thing I have learned over the years and going through several construction projects is that there's always something that goes wrong. It's important to have a company that will take care of this in a professional manner.
