 + 0 moreLance was very helpful when he first came out Saturday morning, and the crew did a great job putting in the new water heater. Lance also contacted Service Team of Professionals (STOP) Saturday to come out and extract the water from the carpeting in the family room. They did a great job with this, and recommended to my insurance carrier that the carpeting be replaced. Both ER Plumbing and STOP kept this from becoming something horrible. I really appreciate all of the help from them.
Description of Work: I found that my water heater had broken and leaked about 20 gallons of water into my family room. I called several other plumbers on this Saturday morning, and ER was the only ones who said they could come out. They diverted one of their plumbers on his way to another job and he was here within 15 minutes. He turned the water and gas off to my water heater and drained the rest of the water out of it. They were back first thing Monday morning to install my new water heater. I bought a tankless one since this is the second time my family room has been flooded.

 + -1 moreI was sittI called them early Sunday morning. My call was returned within 2 hours, and the service man arrived an hour later as promised. I had a stopped up toilet which he cleared in less than 30 mins. He recommended that I might want to consider replacing the toilet since it is over 25 years old and might not be sealing properly. I agreed, not because of what he said about it not sealing, but because I wanted a commode that sits an inch or two taller. My old one set too low for me and my knees. I made another appointment for the next day.
Description of Work: He cleared my toilet so that it flushes now.

He explained what he thought would fix the problem and advised what it would cost. He then told me what would need to be done if the first course of action didn't fix it and told me that price as well. He went to work. He had the issue fixed very quickly. He cleaned up and accepted my Angie's List coupon. I am well pleased!

 + -1 moreMichael was our plumber. He was pleasant and on time and explained what he would be doing. As he worked, other problems surfaced and he let me know about them and what was needed to correct and how much it would cost. He came to install a new garbage disposal. He did that and when he was done, the new disposal made a loud noise. He immediately called his office and told me that he would return with a replacement disposal. Later, the noise stopped so the replacement was not needed. Michael showed me that the kitchen faucet was leaking into the cabinet and so he returned (scheduled at my convenience) to install the new faucet that I purchased. He gave me good advice as to which faucets to avoid (poor quality) and which ones were known for good quality. When he installed the new faucet, he discovered that the shut off valves under the sink were not operating right, so those also were replaced. All work was done with care and all issues were addressed. I feel the work was done professionally. E.R. honored the Senior Citizen discount they offer through Angie's List, also.
Description of Work: Installed new garbage disposal (which I bought from E.R.), installed new kitchen faucet and replaced worn stems on the angle stops (shut off valves under the sink).

 + -1 moreExcellent service. THe were prompt, well mannered, and provided service on a sunday morning and charges the standard service call fee of $69 that they charge for any call. I would definetely call on them again.
Description of Work: Called on Sunday morning at 0830hr to request a plumber to fix a leaking hot water shutoff for our washing machine. The person who answered the phone toook some basic information and said that I would get a call from the on-call technician. Within about an hour I receied call from Boyce, He asked for further details and diagnosed that he thought the problem was a loose lug nut which I could tighten myself. I told him that we had just completed a new tile floor in the laundry room due to another leak and I didn't want to risk taking the action myself in case it was something else. He stated that was fine and that there would be a service fee of $69.00 which I said was reasonable. He told me if the problem was the loose lug nut as he suspected, he'd tighten both and there would be no additional charge. He told me that he would arrive within about 45 mins. He arrived on time, was dressed in a clean uniform and slipped on shoe covers befoe he entered the home. He assessed the problem (it was a loose lug night, tightened both the hot and cold water shut-offs and then asked that we turn the wasj=her on to ensure no additional leaks. He also checked to ensure that the hose connects were tight to the washing machine as well. He stayed for about 25-30 minutes.

 + -1 moreLeaking started at 6:30 am when taking a shower. Water was coming from second floor shower though family room ceiling. Called 2 different places. ER was able to come right away with no additional charges. Plumber arrived at 8 am (exactly on time) and accessed the problem. He agreed that it was the drain from the master shower. He tried to use the original drain but it was poorly installed by the builders. He had to install a different type through the ceiling. He cut 4 holes into the ceiling looking for the drain. He applied the new drain and gave us numbers to hire someone to fix the damage.
Description of Work: Leak coming from upstairs shower drain into family room ceiling. The Plumber was great. Had to cut holes in our ceiling to install correct drain. Builder installed one that moved.

 + 0 moreOverall the experience was very good. Water heater was replaced with an upgrade (40 gal to 50 gal) which I liked. It took about an hour to replace. Everything went smoothly. I was surprised at the cost (which was discussed with me prior to installation.) I did not realize the price of water heaters had gone up so much since I got my last one 7 years ago. I can't say that E.R. Plumbing prices are high, as I did not get another estimate. The electric connection to the old water heater was not ideal, so Richard arranged for an electrician to stop by and make some changes, which made the electrical connection at the WH look much more professional. Electricians were very nice and professional; their job took about 10 minutes. Richard was polite and professional. We discussed the pros and cons of tankless water heaters, but I preferred to go with a tank WH. I would recommend E.R. Plumbing to anyone. I felt they did quality, professional work.
Description of Work: Electric hot water heater (7 years old) was leaking around the bottom; assumed it needed to be replaced. The WH is located in the garage so it was easy to access. Called E.R. Plumbing based on Angies List reviews; talked to Richard and made an appt for the next morning. Richard arrived at the time stated. He brought a water heater with him based on my description of what I had. I had a 40 gal WH and he brought a 50 gal, which he stated he would put in for the same price as the 40 gal. That was fine with me, since I actually preferred a 50 gallon. Richard installed the new WH and hauled the old one away. He arranged for an electrician to stop by to make some minor improvements to the electrical connection. Office called and stated that electrician would arrive in about an hour, which they did.

 + -1 moreI called E.R. Plumbing because our tenant reported that they did not have any hot water. E.R Plumbing, though very polite, showed up and did not even inspect the water heater (besides just looking at it). He immediately said that the whole thing needed to be replaced and he would show me a price list. He said that the parts and labor to replace the elements would be almost as much as a new heater and that it was over 6 years old (which I felt was pretty NEW!). I told him that I wanted to shop around and after he left, our tenant came out and he said that the guy was lying and taking me to the cleaners. He went to Lowe's and bought two heating elements for $23 and fixed the problem. I have yet to find a plumber I can trust and who won't try to rip you off. This company was trying to get me to pay $1,600 for a $23 repair. They should be ashamed of themselves and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This is an outrage!!!

They handled calling Utility Quest to mark where the utility lines were, ie, the gas, telephone and electrical lines. That meant that I did not have to do that.

The worry was that the 50 year old pipe would burst inside the wall when being loosened or retightened. Turned out to be a straightforward job, but I'm glad I called ER Plumbing anyway, because they have flat rate pricing -- they'd have finished the job for the quoted price even if it got difficult. I appreciate that certainty. And they showed up on time, and fixed it without any problems.
