Crown Builders

We have used Crown twice. Once in our old townhouse, then in our new house. They have great prices on better windows than you can get at Lowes or Home. They have always been very responsive, great at explaining our options, and the installers do great and fast work. I have recommended Crown to everyone who talks about needing new windows. We will have them do our roof when it comes time.

I had very quick response to my message for a quote. They came on time and quickly. I found them very professional and friendly. I liked them and trust them. My only problem is I asked for a residing and they seemed to be really encouraging a different type, but when I said no they backed off so it was fine.

From the very first time I met Kevin from Crown Builders I knew that this was the company we were going to use. Kevin was Very knowledgeable and was up front on the price and time it would take to get the job completed. The crew that came out to do the work was ALWAYS on time and did a FANTASTIC job! Salesman was prompt in the appointment and provided a fair quote for work. Roofers arrived promptly when scheduled, were very professional and cleaned up all debris each day. They had to replace some rotten wood and provided pictures of the area. The additional cost of the wood was nominal.

They did an excellent job. They were thorough from start to finish and professional. I would highly recommend them.

Outside of an initial delay due to weather, the job was completed as anticipated. They were very easy to work with and did a top quality job. My initial experience with them was for a roof replacement on a previous residence ten years back. That was also done exceptionally. Would have no hesitantcy in using again.

This is the second major job Crown Builders has done for us. The first was a vinyl siding project whereby the old masonite siding was replaced with quality siding that looks better than the original masonite - and I NEVER have to paint again, period. In both jobs, roofing and siding, Crown's staff and workers did an outstanding job. We have recommended them to neighbors and friends.As a footnote, Crown was recommended to us by a contractor friend who does commercial property contact work, only. Crown did a siding job on his house and he gave the company and employees nothing but praise. He says he's never heard a negative comment about Crown and he knows the contracting business.

We could not have been more pleased with the work and cleanup afterwards.

I had a very good experience with Crown Builders. They redid my whole roof in one day and did a very good job of cleaning up the debris. Because of the awkward design of my attic they accidentally drove a nail through my freon line. They didn't hesitate to send someone over to repair the damages. I would use Crown Builders again.

Nice people, strong salesmanship and responsive but I felt they took advantage of my inexperience regarding roofing. In particular they did not explain some industry best practices regarding counterflashing which includes cutting into brick mortar followed by caulking. I had to research this issue and also hired someone to tell me this. All they do is push the flashing against the brick facing and caulk which could result in problems when the caulking fails. I also felt it necessary to spend $100 to have another roofer check the work. As it turns out, issues were identified and crown came out quickly to rectify.

I was on vacation when they did the job and when I came back, it was all done. They were very organized and dropped the materials before we left. They did not damage anything and the roof looks great. They also came back later to check if everything was alright. They also worked with my insurance company to repair the roof as there was some hail stone damage. The quality of their service was good and I haven’t had any leaks till date.

I was very pleased that they gave such good service in a timely manner.

The sales man who we worked with was very good about following up during the project. Once we scheduled the work they were very good about coming out on time and letting me know when they were going to be there. I was pleased that they stuck by their estimate as far as the time went. I was very pleased with their work. When they came out they did the job in just a day. The only problem that we had with them was that they left behind a lot of nails from removing the existing roof. The were a little bit more expensive than some of the other estimates that we got but they were good to work with.

Inspection, estimate, and complete re-roofing job performed. The entire team was very professional and responsive to my questions . They were also very helpful advising re: insurance claim procedures. The roofing crew was right on time, very careful to avoid damage to the landscaping, cleaned up all day long, and did a great job. Complete tear off and roofing was done in one day and this was a large roof. Company owners came by before and during the job to ensure all was as expected. Great company to deal with!

Overall it was great. Except, there was some cleanup issues, they spilt some tar on the side of the house and they never got it cleaned. I tried to call them back to clean it, but they didn t. Price was actually very good; it was one of the best prices I have found.

Impressed with initial contact and estimate. We got other estimates and Crown was middle of the road with the price, we got referrals and checked out other houses that had been done by Crown and also checked Angie's list and felt comfortable choosing them for our project. The work crew showed up out of the blue one day and started work. The forman never came on site that we saw to direct the work crew. The crew had only one English speaking worker that we had difficulties communicating with. They damaged our property and the work they completed was not satisfactory. They shingled over our stove vent, bent the gutters and for some reason put nails in our door frame. We complained and Crown was very responsive to our worries. They returned more than three times to fix the work that had been done. They fixed the gutters and discounted our price for the damage. The Flashing on our roof was redone several times. Although it was not a good experience we feel now that Crown has done the work to fix the roof to our standards and we are happy now with the work. We have had a couple of good rains since and the roof is solid. They also let us know the work crew that had done the work on our house had been let go.

They weaved my shingles wrong and you can see the ends of the shingles sticking up. I do not like the way this looks. Everytime I look at my house I just want to cry. They came out and said there was nothing wrong. Everyone else that looks at them see's what I see. They damaged my gutter also, and I feel like they took advantage of me. I hate to give them a bad report, but I would never recommend them to anyone else. They moved my patio set into the backyard and left without putting it back.

I encountered Crown through a door to door solicitor and ended up hiring them after learning that my friend had used them recently to reroof her house. Kevin (salesperson) and Alex (contractor) were both great.

They did a good job. Were very professional, fast. They didn't mess around. One thing that really impressed me was they promised that they wouldn't leave any nails around. I only found 4 but they were hiding in a flower pot, etc.

It turned out very well. I am very happy with it. It was not easy dealing with them all the time because they promised that they would have a person on the site at all times that spoke fluent English and they didn't. Other than communication problems because of a language barrier,the job turned out well. It looks very nice.

You will be very impressed with this company. Their prices were very good and the quality of their work was excellent.

Kent was very friendly and addressed all our questions when he came out for the proposal. They give you a special "incentive" (small discount) only on the day they make the proposal. I don't like this type of "pressure", but fortunately we had received several proposals before (from A rated companies on Angie's list, all others were higher, some even 40-50%). They started the project the following week and the roof was done in about 2 1/2 days. The communication during the job should be improved. I was told originally what day they would start, but not how long they would work each day and who my contact was on site. The supervisor was only on site for a short time. The metal roofs and the skylight replacements were done more than a week after the roof had been completed. I had to call several times to find out when this second part of the work would be done. Overall, we are pretty happy with the results, some screens were damaged, but replaced by them, and they cleaned up fairly well.

I had quite a few things going on at one time I could not keep up with it all. One thing I recommend and this is with any company, be sure that you understand exactly what they are going to do and what they are not going to do. That is what I did with this company. They were able to do everything that I needed to have done, that way I was not hiring all kinds of people. I got to stick with one company. These people are very nice, considerate, and reasonable. They handled everything and I highly recommend them.
