From the start they have been excellent to deal with and when I purchased my new HVAC system over a year ago, their price couldn't be matched by any of their competitors. Since that time they have regularly followed up with me to schedule my regular service appointments (which was included in the cost of my HVAC system installation). John has serviced my system a few times and he is terrific to deal with - very professional and always on time.

+ -1 moreExcellent Job! The person who came out to give estimate (Ed) discussed different options and was creative in developing a cost saving design for the duct-work. This allowed for considerable savings compared to the 2 other quotes received. Plus, some "value-added" features were thrown in at no additional cost, for being an Angie's List member. The crew was very neat,efficient, courteous, and punctual. Great communication skills, and they resolved minor issues without any fuss at all. They were anxious to have a satisfied customer. Inspector was complimentary of their work.
Description of Work: Removed existing heating & A/C in attic space, replaced with new system and new metal duct-work.

+ -1 moreMy A/C went out on one of the hottest days of the year, when the heat index was 101. I called Bradham Brothers based on an Angie's List recommendation and they came out that day. My system was very old (15-20 years) and I knew it had been on its last leg. I asked for a price to replace the entire system, as both the outside unit and the fan motor were shot. The company began work the next day and within 3-1/2 days, I had a new system in place. Their work was excellent. Johnny, Randy, Scott, Latham, and Ed, the salesperson, did a wonderful job and explained each step of the process. I can't say enough positive things about this company.
Description of Work: The company installed a new A/C and gas heating system in my home, including new compressor, new gas furnace, top-of-the-line air filter, humidifier, and all new duct work.

+ -1 moreI was disappointed in this initial contact. The office apparently did not inform the service person the first time of the PRIMARY purpose of the call. Mistakes CAN happen, but to charge for an additional service call, though reduced finally because it only took 1/2 hour (more like 15 minutes) "instead of an hour to change the pad, just does not seem consistent with the quality of service described by most of the other users of BB. All preliminary contacts with the company and especially Rodney have been excellent. Why this, now, is hard to explain though I tried to convey it to the otherwise extremely efficient,professional and polite repair person. It seems, he was only conveying what 'the office' said. I wish them well. It just didn't work for me. Sorry.
Description of Work: We live in a relatively new home and I needed to establish a Humidifier A/C service provider. I choose Bradham Brothers (BB) from Angie's List because of their excellent ratings and comments from users. After two contacts for service that did not work out (through NO fault of BB), I contacted them to change the Humidifier pad. I gave them the name and number of the pad (Honeywell HE365A)and set the appointment. Knowing and accepting that I would incur a full service charge, I requested the scheduler to just do a 'spot check' of the furnace. The repair person arrived on time and was polite in every way. However, he didn't bring a filter for the humidifier as I requested. I was charged $103 for checking the furnace which was, as I suspected, fine. He ordered the pad and said I would not be charged a service call only the cost of the filter. He came today to install filter and the initial charge was listed as $117. After talking to the office he lowered it to $40 (retail is $11.99).

+ -1 moreThe technician was very professional and explained what the options would be if the unit continued to have problems. He was very knowledgeable and polite. They came out first thing Monday morning after my Friday afternoon call.
Description of Work: They came out and checked my HVAC unit which had quit cooling. It turned out that a switch had flipped and only needed to be reset. The technician stayed after resetting the unit to make sure it continued to run properly. He tested other parts of the unit to make sure that there weren't additional problems.

+ -1 moreWe narrowed our choices down to 2 companies but went with Bradham Bros because of their polite, family oriented attitude. They came out 3 times to quote and follow up on questions we had. They didn't put on a hard sales pitch and they worked to get us the best price with the best payment plan and the best product warranty. Their installation crew was here 2 days, very polite and cleaned up so well we couldn't tell they'd even been here. They explained the new thermostats to us, then returned twice to help after we messed it up! The new system works flawlessly so far and we are VERY glad we chose Bradham Brothers for this job.

+ 0 moreBradham Brothers is extremely professional, punctual and tidy. They always arrive when they say they will, and they give great customer service. Unfortunately, the unit they installed was not wired correctly so it did not work properly until they made a second call to fix the problem. We are grateful that they fixed the problem so quickly. However, there was a very loud fan/like rattle coming from the unit even after their 2nd visit. Once again, they came back quickly to investigate the complaint. On this last visit the unit was not making a sound so it was hard to diagnose what the noise had been. Nevertheless, Bradham Brothers gave the entire system another check, and we haven't had any problems since.
Description of Work: The company first diagnosed a freon leak in the AC system. The old system wasn't worth fixing so we bought from Bradham Brothers a Trane XL-16I Heat Pump. Bradham Brothers installed the new heat pump, air handler and thermostat.

Instead, I got a recording stating that they only serviced existing clients on the weekend. Since I had a newborn in the house, I thought I might be able to talk them into coming out and taking a look. I left a message. Nobody ever called me back.

+ -1 moreI was putting off calling a repairman because I was afraid of getting ripped off. The young man was very polite and cleaned up afterwards. It was so hot outside and up in the attic but he carried buckets of water downstairs to empty outside. I called them in the morning and they were there in about an hour. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: The air conditioner was leaking water into the attic and the fan ran all the time. He cleaned out the overflow pipe, removed all the water, checked out the system and removed an unnecessary circuit that was causing the fan to stay on saving me about $135.00.

The electrical contractor came a day or two later to replace outdated breakers. The work was inspected. I could have gotten the work done cheaper, but I'll always pay more for quality.
Description of Work: Replaced our 18 year old two ton Trane heat pump (split system) with a 2.5 ton Trane split system (R22). The equipment bought was a XR12 condensing unit and a variable speed air handler to match.

I felt good to be a new Angie's List subscriber and have my first experience be so positive and save money on our electric bill! I definitely give this go an A+ rating. I've been disappointed by a lot of other contractors before so I find it refreshing to be so satisfied. Quality work; well worth my subscription fee. Personable, like down home, not a big chain company. Use this one first. They are honest and low in price.
Description of Work: The old air conditioner broke down, the old one was removed and disposed of, the new one was put in in one day. The inspector inspected it on another day. A new digital thermostat was put in with full verbal and written instructions; the person doing this wore protectors on shoes to prevent dirty mud from getting on my carpet! Most people don't care and leave a mess. Afterwards, I thought our electric bill was a mistake. I waited for the next month, and still, the electric bill was low. Also, I liked the fact that the owner came out to personally do the estimate. He even forgot to put the discount on and when I asked, took money off for being with Angie's list. You never see such honestly these days.

+ -1 moreOverall experience was excellent. Everyone I came into contact with at BB was very professional. Quick response, punctual, quality work, complete clean up following job. I had two problems at the same time with my cheap spec HVAC system made by Comfortmaker, which is giving out after only 8 years of service... A coolant leak in the indoor coil ($1,000 replacement cost) and a condenser fan motor failure ($500 replacement cost) and both were addressed quickly by BB. Minor mix up with billing (double charge on credit card) was resolved easily with administrative staff. I am unable to comment on pricing, there was no real opportunity to obtain a second quote, so I have no comparison.

Best of all, he was a company employee, not a sub contracted on an as need basis (I've noticed that some companies are doing the latter). The owners are local and have been in business for decades. When we moved down here a decade+ ago, service of this quality was the standard in Charlotte. It's nice to find a company that still provides this level of service.

+ -1 moreOur A/C unit froze up the day before our vacation. I was frantic! I called every name on Angie's List of companies, and Bradham's was the only one willing to come out that day, a Friday. Our service technician, Joseph, was informative and polite. He described what had happened, and took care of what could have been a huge mess. He told me what to look for in the future, and explained their maintenance agreement with absolutely no pressure! Since they are a small company, they have to rely on word of mouth for advertisement. Please call them, I would not hesitate to do so again if needed. I highly recommend them!

The Trane equipment is performing flawlessly so far. The one problem with a faulty part was replace IMMEDIATELY without question. Their was a slight punctuality issue with the electric subcontractor but it was resolved.
