Our air-conditioner was floundering at a very hot time of the year and they gave us a temporary unit while they ordered a permanent one. They were just very accommodating and very good at what they did. I spent over $5000.00 on their service and I thought the price was very competitive. The quality of their work so far has been good. They were responsive, punctual, and professional.

+ -1 moreOur upstairs unit went out during the first really hot week in May. A different company came out to service it and told us the compressor was shot, which would cost an estimated $1600 to repair. We knew our HVAC systems were on their last legs, so we just decided to go with replacement. I called 4 different companies; three from Angies List and one recommended by a friend. Pete Bradham came out within 24 hours of my call to his company. He was very polite, friendly, easy-going, and knowledgeable. I'd done quite a bit of research and he patiently answered all of my questions (about different units, pros & cons of certain systems, etc), both in person and via email after our initial meeting. Pete provided comprehensive quotes, emailed, within a day or two of our meeting, and he updated them a couple of times at my request to add or change various things. Once we committed to Bradham, they had us on the schedule in about a week, and they finished the work in one day. There were a lot of guys here on installation day, and they were all friendly and companionable with one another. They protected my carpets and asked me prior to removing a small tree that was blocking one of the outdoor units. They were definitely hard workers and I was amazed that they managed to get it done in one day. They had to run wiring through a closet for our downstairs thermostat and promised to come back with sheathing to hide the wires. One of the guys walked my husband through thermostat operation. We paid in full at installation and got a small discount for that. I had to follow-up with Bradham to (1) get all of the rebate paperwork, and (2) to have someone come back to put the sheathing over the wires. But once I contacted them, they responded right away and took care of both oustanding items professionally. One small complaint: Items were moved around in the attic during installation and they were not put back. I was disappointed to find a box of Christmas ornaments on its side. Thankfully, nothing broke.
Description of Work: Replaced 14-year old HVAC units (one for downstairs, one for upstairs) with new Trane systems: XL 16 Seer and a XV95 furnace for the downstairs, and XL 16 Seer and a X80 furnace plus Clean Effects filter upstairs. Initial cost was $15, 400, but with Trane rebates, the gas company's energy credit and a tax credit, final expense is around $12,500.

Description of Work: Our A/C stopped working so Bradham came out to investigate and resolve the problem. They added freon to the unit, cleaned our filters, and provided advice.

+ -1 moreI called the company at 9:30am to discuss an ac unit that was not working. They sent Alan out to the house within an hour that day! He replaced the bad capacitor and was finished in about 30 minutes. I was very impressed with the responsiveness of this company and their ability to identify and fix the problem so quickly.
Description of Work: Alan checked the ac unit and found that the capacitor needed to be replaced. He didn't have one exactly like the original, but replaced it with two capacitors that operated the fan and the compressor.

+ -1 moreEverything was great. They were extremely prompt and really seemed to know what they were doing. They got it done in one day, and they came in under their estimate. They were more responsive than we even could have hoped. I had never used them before, but I certainly plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We are getting ready to sell my mother's house, so we needed the air conditioning and heating units repaired after the home buyer's inspection. They checked the induced draft fan-blower for a slight burning smell, checked the 25 degree difference on the AC which may have been the coil, checked around the evaporator core for air leaks, and checked the freon line to see if it needed to be insulated. After they inspected everything, they sealed around the coil, replaced a gas valve on the furnace, and did a number of different things to meet the requirements of the buyers.

+ -1 moreOverall it went great. Rodney, his son, and his team all did a great job. I looked at 3 other companies and I felt Bradam would do the best job and stand by their work. That they did, they came out multiple times after the installation to make sure things were running correctly, and made corrections as necessary. I have used them before in a previous home to replace a furnace, and after this experience, I really trust them and feel they treated my house as if it was their own.
Description of Work: They removed all the existing duct work in our crawl space and attic, and replaced with new, insulated, duct work. added zoning system (dampers), and 2 thermostats to control the 2 stories. Replaced and resized all return air ducts as well.

He looked at my house and gave me options about what he thought would be good, so that I could choose what I needed.
Description of Work: I use Bradham Brothers for heating and air conditioning. I have a service agreement with them and they visit me twice a year - once for the furnace and the next time for the air conditioning. The last time they were here was to check the system.

+ -1 moreMy experience with Bradham Brothers in the past as well as this purchase and install has always been top notch. I would suggest to anybody needing heat / AC work done to call Bradham Brothers. You will be doing your self a big favor.
Description of Work: I called Bradham on a Saturday AM since my heat pump/AC was not working. I had a service contrract with them but considering it was a Saturday AM I called 2 other companies just in case. When 1 of the other contractors returned my call first I asked them to come out since it was a Saturday and I was unsure what type of service to expect on a Saturday from any contractor. When Bradham called about 20 minutes later I told them I had requested another contractor come by and explained why. Thirty minutes later I was in my driveway waiting for the contractor who was on the way. While I was waiting one of the Bradham brothers pulled in my driveway. I explained to him what was going on and why I asked the other company to come by. He understood and expressed his empathy for my situation. I told him I would keep him in mind if I did not feel comfortable with the results from the first contractor. The news was not good so I called Bradham back. They came right out. Bradham Brothers diagnosis was the same as another contractor. My heat pump/AC was dead...most likely due to a leak somewhere in the system. They offered 2 or 3 solutions and explained the pros and cons of each. I requested quotes from Bradham (delivered 2 to 3 hours later that day) and others as well as researched the internet regarding what I should expect price wise and what brands should be considered. I also ran across a form on the internet that broke out some variables on how to evaluate the different quotes. This was my first experince with replacing an entire system and this checklist / form helped simplify the comparision process. I ended up purchasing a Trane heat pump system (XL15i unit, matching blower and thermostat) in order to qualify for the current tax credit of up to $1500.00. This system and labor cost qualified for the entire $1500.00. They offered another system that was lower in price but the energy efficiency ratings were lower. After the tax credit, current Trane rebate and price negotions with Bradam I decided on the XL15i model since the net price after rebate and tax credit were basically the same. After settling on a price with Bradham Brothers they put in a temporay unit for 2 to 3 days until my unit was ready to install. The replacement unit was installed within a few hours of us agreeing on the deal. When I got home from work that night the house was cool again after several days without AC! The new install was completed in the agreed upon time frame and could not have gone any smoother. The installers arrived on time and they were professional and polite. They showed respect for my home and property and maintained a clean work area while conducting the install. When the install was done they did a very good clean up.

+ -1 moreWe returned from vacation to one of our units not cooling properly. I called the office at 10:00 am to schedule a service call. The lady on the phone was very friendly and the service call was scheduled for this afternoon (they could have been here in the morning but my husband wanted to be present). I was informed that it would cost $80 for the visit and then a price would be quoted for any repairs after the technician ran a diagnostic on the system, but BEFORE completing any work. The lady reminded me to print my Angie's List coupon! I appreciated knowing up front what the minimum charge would be. The office called 20 minutes before the technician arrived, as promised. Tom arrived around1:00 p.m. and discovered a bad capacitor. He explained the problem, gave me the price, and replaced the part. He was quick, efficient, and very friendly. He didn't try to sell us on a service contract, and answered all our questions about our old unit honestly. We are absolutely DELIGHTED with the quality of service, rapid response time, and friendliness of the staff. We are relieved that we didn't have to replace the entire unit. We will definitely be using them to replace both A/C and heating units when the time comes, and we will recommend them to everyone we know.

+ -1 moreWe have used Bradham Brothers for many years, and thiis experience is a perfect illustration of the reason we have. Our A/C quit on a hot Sunday. I left a call on their answering service, and just 20 minutes after they opened this morning, a technician was at our house. Given the age of the unit, we were prepared to have to replace the entire thing, but it was instead just a crucial part that had given out. The tech repaired it within 20 minutes and the bill was quite reasonable, as theirs always are. We are grateful to be cool again so quickly and so reasonably.

I didn't show Mr. Bradham the quote from the other company but besides getting my a/c to work again (no charge) he also guggested that the coil I purchased from the first vendor couple years ago might still be under warranty. I don't know yet whether I will be replacing my system but I have added this company to my "favorists" list for my future heating A/C needs.
Description of Work: I had another A/C company out over the weekend to investigate my 1st floor unit. I was presented with various alternatives to what amounted to a leak repair. Rather than trying to figure out where the leak was, the technician offered up an alternative to replace then entire downstairs heating and cooling system for one that was energy efficient. After drawing up the paperwork and scheduling it for a couple days later, I decided to get a second estimate. I called Bradham brothers first thing in the morning and explained my situation, they were able to come out to the house and check out the system within a couple hours and provided me an equivalent estimate that was $2000 less. He also added a little freon to my existing system and got my cooling to work downstairs right away. (Kinda made me wonder why the other company didnt do that).

+ -1 moreFor the past several days it's been raining and then pouring off and on. Last night the thermostat read 81 degrees in the house and it was unbearable. I'm a first time home owner experiencing my first spring/summer and I realized my A/C wasn't working. My husband called Bradham Brothers and he explained that the compressor didn't seem to be working but didn't feel cold and didn't appear to be frozen. They told us that someone would be out later on in the afternoon. About an hour later someone came by and though I wasn't there, my husband said that he looked at it for a little and then asked to see the circuit breaker and then he flicked the switch and voila! He recommended that we get it "Serviced & Cleaned" and my husband told him that we wouldn't do it at this time. When he wrote up the bill and gave it to my husband (who had given him the Angie's list coupon - price is after the coupon) he seemed nice but non-budging when my husband expressed surprise at the price. The itemized price was:$73.33 for "Typical Electrical Repair" -$35.00 for Coupon $80.00 "Diagnostic Fee" Total= $118.33 I don't resent paying him, he came out, and took a look at the problem. It's the amount that I feel is unfair, and if that's their policy, which they are entitled to, please share that with callers when they inquire about your services. "Quick Fixes" in my opinion should not have the same price tag as hard labor. I will ONLY use this company again AFTER receiving an estimate prior.
