Bartlett Tree Experts - 61111

Had worked with Bartlett before to do an analysis. When the company previously used came in with a ridiculously high bid, I contacted Bartlett. Dave was very responsive and gave good advice, including recommending NOT removing a tree I thought was unhealthy. He took the time to explain carefully why he felt the tree was actually healthy. Did recommend a smaller one be removed as he felt it was the most likely to fail. The crew appeared when scheduled and was able to complete the entire job in a day, which was quicker than initially planned. All debris was removed.

Bartlett has always been very good to work with for tree fertilizing and trimming. Very professional and while prices are on the higher side they are worth it.

In addition to tree spraying, which has served us well, Bartlett has also done tree and shrub pruning and removal. Everything they've done over the years has been well done and on time. Dave Powell is extremely knowledgable and pleasant to work with. The only negative is that they seem to be more expensive than other providers, so you have to think about when it is worth paying for the best.

The process went well. The willow oak is near our front porch and required the crane truck to reach some of the areas pruned.

This was final of 3 treatments to my dogwood trees. The service provider treated the trees and gave me an update on the condition of the trees.

Have been using Bartlett for several years. I contacted them after a particularly bad winter for my palm trees, they looked like they were dying to replace them would have been very costly. Brian came out to evaluate the damage gave me a proposal for the treatment of the palms and several other trees on my property that I would hate to lose. My palms came back after the treatment and I have had Bartlett come out every year since then. Brian contacts me several times a year to see how things are going and to see if we need any other services. My trees and palms have never looked better and are growing like crazy.

He was prompt, professional and provided a well written quote in a timely manner. He was and is a pleasure to work with.

Their service was great. He arrived on time for the estimate and walked around the property with me. He wrote up an estimate and discussed all of my options. I only had him treat one of the things we discussed. I called to schedule the appointment and he sent someone right away. I have no problems with the work.

I was very pleased with them because the accidently punctured the hose on my sprinkler system and they came back out on a Friday night to fix everything. I was very impressed with them. I would recommend them to others.

If you care about your trees and your property, use Barlett. They are not the cheapest, but they are professional, treat your property with respect and offer options on your tree problems. (I have found that in most cases, the cheapest option is not the best option ~ if you love your trees and your yard, don't go on the cheap!). We had an elm fall in our yard, they came out, cut the tree into fireplace lengths, stacked the wood neatly and cleaned up the debris. They were in and out and took care not to damage our property. Other tree crews we have used in the past have been careless, want to use the neighbors property for access, trample other vegetation, leave cigarette butts in the yard, etc. Not Bartlett, they are professional. We will be using them again soon.

The initial consultation with David Powell went well enough. He arrived on time and quickly identified what was wrong with my pear trees (cedar rust) whereas another company had misdiagnosed the problem. He recommended spraying them with fungicide in the spring. One of the three trees has stunted growth and a dieing crown which he attributed to a girdling root or similar circumstance and recommended it be removed and replaced. He didn't stop with just those trees, but advised me on the condition of the other trees in my yard and how to better care for them. Within a day or two afterwards he emailed me a proposal and that's where things started to go wrong. He proposed pruning my two maples. One of those two maples is healthy and with a pleasing shape and good clearance underneath. I had already topped it and taken off low handing branches to reduce how much it shades my garden and I see no need to prune it further. The other maple is scrawny with stunted growth and poor shape to it, crowds a nice crape myrle and shades my garden, and if I'm going to spend money on it'll be for removing it which I told him during the consultation. For the Bradford pears the proposal is to remove dead, diseased, or poorly attached branches larger than 1" in diameter. The problem is the diseased parts are the fruit and the branch tips, so that wouldn't help in controlling the rust. Also proposed is spraying my two relatively healthy pears to control the rust and leaving the third pear untouched. I can see where this would reduce the rust problem for one season, but the third diseased pear would remain under this proposal as well as 5 diseased cedars just off of my property that brush up against my pears. Naturally I wondered wouldn't the remaining diseased pear and the diseased cedars just keep reinfecting my good pears? Also proposed was to install 4 brace rods in my two good pears. In total the proposal breaks down as:General Tree Work $640Pest Management $372 I replied to the emailed proposal with questions about reinfection and what is there to assure me that spraying will be effective, where the brace rods would be placed and what splits they would help prevent, whether payment would be due now or at the time services are performed, and what it would cost to have the most sickly pear removed. After waiting a long time for a reply, I finally called and got through to Barlett's office staff and they confirmed that David Powell received my email and hadn't replied. They seemed professional enough and said they'd print out the email, place it on his desk and that he'd reply the next day. No phone call or email came and it's been two or three days so I've decided to go with another tree service.

There’s nothing that stands out about them. They’re very good and we’ve used them before. We’re satisfied with the services that they provided. So when we needed some other things done, we called them again since we’ve had prior experience with them. We really don’t have anything to compare their prices with. We will use them again in the future if we need to.

We found them before joining Angie's list. They were very knowledgeable about the issues we were seeing and did good work. Their communication within the company could be a bit better as the billing was a bit slow to get to us. Overall we were happy with the work they did and would use them again.

I got them off Angie's List and I liked them. The guy was real knowledgeable and all that. I have a fairly large yard and they had to haul the trees back out to the road to get rid of them. The price seemed right. They are probably competitive with everybody else. Everybody had about the same price. The guy that came out to give me the quote was real knowledgeable. One of the trees did not look healthy and he walked around and looked at all the trees. I was impressed with his knowledge. I have got them in my book to recall them whenever I need something.

This was a very good experience from beginning to end. Originally, I just wanted a river birch over our driveway trimmed and some smaller dead trees in the rear removed. When Dave Powell, Bartlett's local manager, came to our house, he pointed out that there was another large tree in the back that was also dead and should be removed. I would have missed this completely. The crew arrived on time, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves to the point where you wouldn't have known they were there. A first-class professional operation from start to finish.

absolutely terrible communication within their organization, and the customer. i had scheduled for them to come out and give me an estimate of what i wished to accomplish. we had set a date and time, after i had adjusted my schedule. days later THEY emailed and cancelled do to THEIR confllict. we re-scheduled, again i adjusted my schulde. THEY again cancelled the appointment due to a conflict on THEIR end. we re-scheduled again for the third time. they said absolutely they would be there and we sorry for the inconvenience prior. this appointment was scheduled for 12-9, @ 4 pm. THEY NEVER SHOWED AFTER I WAITED TILL DARK, NOR DID THEY EVER CALL OR EMAIL. IF THEY CAN'T EVEN SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, SHOW UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT, NO TELLING WHAT THEIR WORK PRODUCT AND PRICING WOULD BE.

They are very professional. The trunk and roots were contracted out and they did an excellent job.

This is the third time that they?ve done work for me and the guys that do the work are incredible every time. They are professional and I never have to be concerned that they are going to do something that will result in injury. There is a major power line that goes through one of my trees and I don?t worry about them because they are professional and they seem to really care about the trees. They are very careful and they try to save trees rather than just cutting them down. I am really impressed with expertise. The head arborist has great ideas and great suggestions; they have taken care of all of my tree needs. They are a little more expensive than the cheap people but they are worth every penny of it.

It was fine. We also got estimates from two other companies and we have not yet made a decision about who is going to do the work. the young man who came was pleasant and professional in his behavior, but he had to go back and consult their PhD entomologist about an issue we are having with our pear tree so it took awhile to get that feedback to us. I appreciate that it took awhile because the person that he had to reach travels in his work, it's just that I think people who are in business should stay in touch and let you know why you are not getting an answer immediately. Communication is important.

I've used them before for other tree service needs. They did not have a crane and they were a bit expensive. I ended up using another company for that job.
