I visited their showroom on Harris Blvd to see what they offered. I knew from others I had talked to that they were a reputable company with a good product offering. My sales rep., Debbie, was responsive when she came out for the measurements and when I called back to schedule the install. She took care of the details. The installers called ahead as requested and arrived on time. From working with sales and the installers the over all experience was very easy. They consulted me on what my needs were and not what they wanted to sell.

When my garage died I drove by the show room and browsed. Residential Sales person was called to come and assist with an estimate. Even though I didn't have the exact size of the opening, Jennie was able to pretty much tell me what was needed and what the home owner association would probably accept based upon my description. She was able to give me a general quote. I went home and researched further. Called them back and scheduled a measurement appointment. Measurement appointment confirmed everything that Jennie had estimated. Paid half down. A few days later received call of when installation would occur. Friday prior to install, received reminder that someone would call 30 mins. prior to arrival. Everything happened per schedule. 20 year old hernia door was removed and pretty new insulated light weight door was installed. The installer thanked us for our business.

I called for an appointment and they said they could come the next afternoon. They are not more specific than between 12 and 5pm (I would have liked something a little closer than that).They asked about the door and I told them it was a double car garage door with a single spring on the left side. The repair guy called ahead as promised and showed up on time. My big issue was the first thing he said "we can't fix this today". I was like "What?" Turns out he needed to measure the spring and have someone make one. He said this is the way it is with most doors - mine was not unique. So, I said to him that it would have been nice for the people at the main office to at least set my expectation and tell me that they would not be able to fix it. Or, better yet, tell me to measure it or count the coils or do whatever so they could make it before they show up at all. He agreed it was a unhappy conversation he has often. So, I had to pay $71 for a guy to measure the spring and then wait 2 days for him to come back with the new one. He was able to connect the two broken parts of the spring with a connector doohickey and the door worked while we waited - so that was okay. I must say, the repair guy was very nice and polite and his positive attitude helped to make up for the situation. This may be the situation with all doors so Angie's List members may just use this experience to ask, on the initial call, if the door will be fixed on the first visit. Anyway, they came back on the day promised and put in the new spring. The weight of the door - without the spring tension, had caused the 2 top sections to bow out some but the repair guy tells me it will stop hitting the top of my garage over time - if not to call him. We'll see on that - they give a 90 day warranty. Overall, they did the work well and the guy who came to the house was great. I just wish the people at the main office were a little more upfront on the reality of spring replacement and that you may need to wait.

We've been using them for years. They come when we ask them to come and their work is very satisfactory. Their prices are along the lines of others as well.

They did the work on the day and time that they said they would. The workman was apparently quite skilled at his work.

We selected the door we wanted and paid the deposit on a Friday, with delivery expected in two weeks. On Sunday that weekend our old door stopped working. So Monday I called Overhead Door Co. and explained my problem, to see if we could get a delivery sooner. It wasn't possible to get an earlier delivery, but the company sent a repair person to fix the old door (snapped coil) until the new one could arrive FOR NO CHARGE. We were delighted with this customer service. The new door came when expected, looks terrific. We are so impressed the with both the product and service. Outstanding.

Great. They arrived when expected. Performed work quickly and cleanly and even helped us program our in car garage openers to new unit.

They were very good. They came when they said they would and were very professional and helpful.

The salesperson was punctual, very knowledgeable, very honest about what they could and could not do, and very accessible by email and phone after the sales call. Initially their bid seemed high to me but when I began checking "the small print" on other estimates, they emerged as the most cost effective solution. They were also able to do this job much faster than anyone else, as our door was stuck in the "up position," that was very important to us. Once we decided to go with Overhead Door they came and lowered our damaged door at no cost. The installer called ahead to notify me, was punctual, very cordial, and did an excellent and efficient job. Because this whole job resulted from damage to our previous door, it was not something we had planned on or wanted to do. Overhead Door made this as painless as possible. I'd gladly use them again and will recommend them to friends.

One of our wooden garage doors had started to rot. Overhead came out and surprised us by just saying we only needed one section replaced, not the whole door. That alone was enough to get our business. They ordered the section, replaced it and tested it. We were more than happy with their service. We did need to paint it ourselves but that wasn't an issue since we were getting ready to paint the house anyway in preparation to sell.

We had a bit of a delay in scheduling since they were busy (requested on Jan 4th and they did the work on Jan 13th 2006). They replaced both eyes on the specific door. Eyes $45 Tax $3.38 and Trip & Labor $99 for a total of $147.38. Overall, pleased with the work. In general seemed a bit pricey but they appear to do quality work, as we haven't had any problems.

All the people I dealt with were courteous and professional. I was on a tight time schedule due to moving, they promptly scheduled my installation and even with a glitch with product sent for installation, they got the job done within our schedule constraints and even discounted our price. They have done work for us in the past, too and we were very happy with them.

THE SPRING MUST HAVE BROKEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AS I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT LEAVING FOR WORK. I CALLED OVERHEAD FIRST THING, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GET SOMEONE OVER THAT DAY. HE FIXED IT WITHIN 45 MINUTES, AND IT WAS SOMEWHAT CHEAPER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TO REPAIR. I HAVE USED OVERHEAD IN THE PAST AND HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SERVICE, AS WELL AS THEIR PRICES.

ARRIVED ON TIME. KNOWLEDGEABLE. DID WORK PROMISED. REASONABLE PRICE. GOOD QUALITY DOOR OPENER. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

WE WENT TO VIEW THE DISPLAY FLOOR OF THE GARAGE DOORS AT W.T. HARRIS BLVD LOCATION AND ORDERED THE DOOR. THE DOOR ARRIVED WITHIN A TWO WEEK TIME FRAME. INSTALLER WAS ON TIME AND PROMPTLY DID HIS WORK AND CLEANED UP WELL. GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH SALES REP THAT HANDLED OUR ORDER. ONE SMALL PROBLEM WITH THE APPLICATION OF THE TRIM AT THE DOOR FRAME WAS RECTIFIED QUICKLY ONCE THE SALES REP WAS CALLED IN. NO OTHER PROBLEMS.

DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE; DID NOT CALL AHEAD; WORK NOT PROPERLY PERFORMED; SECOND TRIP REQUIRED AND, AGAIN, DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE. SECOND EFFORT WORKED FINE. NO ATTEMPT TO APOLOGIZE FOR ERROR, OR ATTEMPT TO SMOOTH SCHEDULING FOR THE SECOND VISIT. PUT ON HOLD A LOT.

THE GARAGE DOOR MOTOR OR THE DOOR ITSELF SEEMS TOO LOUD, BUT I DID LIKE THE QUALITY OF THE WORK.

VERY PROFESSIONAL, QUICK, QUALITY. VERY EASY TO WORK WITH, ALWAYS AROUND WHEN NEEDED.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY FINISHED BEFORE SCHEDULE.

ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES I HAVE HAD WITH A HOME SERVICE COMPANY. THEY QUOTED 8-NOON APPOINTMENT, BUT SAID I WAS #2 FOR THE DAY AND ESTIMATED 10AM. HE PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY AT 9:59AM. TOOK MAYBE 30 MINUTES TOTAL, PAID BY CREDIT CARD. DOORS BEEN WORKING FOR 3 WEEKS NOW, NO PROBLEMS. PRICE WAS GREAT. VERY POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, FRIENDLY.

VERY PROFESSIONAL. BOLTED BROKEN SPRING UNTIL NEW SPRING CAME IN SO WE COULD OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR.

THE REPAIR GUY WAS VERY HELPFUL. HE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD USED TOO SHORT OF A TRAVEL ROOF FOR MY SIZE GARAGE DOOR, BUT SAW THAT IT WAS REPAIRABLE, AND HAD ALL THE PARTS NEEDED ON THE TRUCK! I SAVED $250 FROM WHAT I EXPECTED TO PAY, AND HE WAS ALSO VERY INFORMATIVE.

VERY RESPONSIVE...SCHEDULED SAME DAY SERVICE EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE BOOKED...VERY REASONABLE PRICE. QUICK REPAIR (1/2 HOUR). ZERO COMPLAINTS. HIRING THIS COMPANY WAS A SLAM DUNK.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY BECAUSE IT WAS ON ANGIE'S LIST AND THEY HAD BEEN TO MY HOME FOR REPAIR ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. THEY WOULD NOT SEND ANYBODY OUT TO LOOK AT THE DOOR BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAVE THE "RIGHT" SENSOR. I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR FOR THE DOOR. I DON'T KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT GARAGE DOORS, BUT AS IT TURNS OUT THERE WAS A SENSOR ON THE DOOR, I JUST WASN'T ABLE TO REPORT TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AS TO WHERE IT WAS LOCATED. HE APPARENTLY WAS NOT INTERESTED IN SENDING SOMEONE FOR EVALUATION AND POSSIBLY REPAIR, HE JUST QUOTED THE PRICE FOR A NEW MOTOR. I CALLED A-1 GARAGE DOOR SERVICE, THEY CAME IMMEDIATELY, FIXED THE PROBLEM. MY GARAGE DOOR IS AN OLDER MODEL, BUT WHEN IT IS REPLACED, I WILL NOT GIVE MY BUSINESS TO OVERHEAD DOOR AND I WILL PASS ON THIS INFORMATION TO OTHERS.
