Andersen Heating & Cooling

After the humidifier was installed we discovered that Andersen, who installed the HVAC system, did not put in the condensate drain from the heating system to the outside from the crawl space where the heating system is located. So they routed the drain for the humidifer into the drain for the heating system and ran it to run out the drain I installed for an instant hot water system. Simultaneously they realized that the system was missing a ground condensate pump to get the drain water up to outside ground level (crawl space with the equipment is below outside ground level). This was the culmination of five (5) separate visits to get the humidifier working properly. Now they wont warranty the pump, which should have been warrantied with the rest of the heating system, without enrolling in and purchasing a Maintenance Agreement. Their position is that items that handle water are not warrantied of themselves.

I called them at 9:30 this morning. They claimed that someone was in the area and I was first in line. I called about 12:30 and they said someone was in front of me and that they would call about 45 minutes before they arrived. I called them around 2:00pm when I found someone else, to cancel the appointment. They did not seem to care I had no heat.

I was very pleased with them. They were very efficient, prompt and the price was exceptionally good. They did the work in a timely schedule and everything about them was excellent. The house is cool in the summer, so it is looking good.

We currently have a service contract with Anderson Heating and Cooling and never have had a problem until we inquired about a split heating and cooling system. The individual that came out took all the specifications and stated that "he would email a quote within the next couple of days. It has almost been two months and we have not heard from him. We were prepared to have this unit installed however we will look elsewhere for the system.

Two man crew took about 7 hours. Both were very professional, polite, and clean. Even painter sales, was very helpful in deciding on choice of paints. Andersen has provided out two time a year maintenance since 1998, all with A ratings.

They are punctual but they are very expensive. Relatively I think they overcharge.

They really had a complex job on their hands and they did a beautiful job. We thought the price was reasonable and were happy with the work.

They are always responsive and have always fixed the problem.

Contract includes 2 visits (winter, summer) to check system. Good people come by to perform check good company. These contracts are expensive, but the warranty on my furnace is voided if annual service/checks are not performed.

They were the ones that originally installed my units. I've never had any problems with them. They do fine work. They come out when they say they will. I will continue to use them for future service.

I thought they did a good job, but their prices were high.

Would not recommend or use them again due to their management or CSR's. I have no complaints about the people that have come out to my home in the past 7 years. Will find another carrier who has more empathy and cares about people. It seems that do not even care to make money as I would be paying them about $275 to look at 2 units (1 hour work) and then renewing a maintenance contract with them for about $1,000.

Dale Andersen came out - he was rude, came in 50% higher than his competitors? estimates for the EXACT same system (not to mention his quote on replacing the motor was over double their competitors estimate). When I let him know that he was 50% higher on repairing and replacing...his quote to me was: "Good, that's where we want to be because we are the best" Trust me, get several different estimates and you?ll see what I mean.

We have a yearly service contract for our heating and air conditioning units that this company installed several years ago. They come out twice a year to service our units. They are timely and their people are professional. If there are any problems they are very responsive and will fix the problem right away.

THIS IS PART OF THE SEASONAL PROGRAM THAT WE PURCHASED THEY DO A GREAT JOB. ALWAYS ON TIME AND THUROGH .

My heating unit did not work. The pilot light was not igniting properly. The rep came out, said the unit just need to be cleaned, cleaned it, ran a diagnosis, said it was fixed. It wasn't. He returned and said the ignition control board (a circuit board) needed to be replaced and quoted $563 for the work. Did not agree to this price. Searched for the part and found it for $263. My father is a network admin and replaces motherboards and works on PCs for a living. He swapped the board. It took ten minutes. The exact same problem continued. I called Anderson and told them that they had misdiagnosed the problem and the rep, Kevin, told me that I had broken the heating unit and that he would charge me extra to come and re-diagnose it. Considering that it was not diagnosed correctly in the first place, I found this to be extremely shady and the rep to be very rude in his assertion that I had broken the heating unit since the unit was having the exact same problem as before.

They were extremely friendly on the phone. They came to my home within a week and sent a clean, well dressed repairman. He evaluated our system, made some good recommendations, and then offered a lower price for next year's service if we purchased now. We were satisfied with Andersen from the start of the process right through the finish.

My experience With the Andersen company is one that I will always remember. The technicians who have serviced my air conditioner over the past year, have all been prompt, professional, and courteous. And needless to say, Mr. Anderson has been most gracious and courteous. Mr. Andersen's integrity is reflected in his service staff.

Maintenance contract more than paid for itself. Andersen honored the contract and provided quick professional service.

I called another company that said the compressor wasn't out and fixed it for much less.

VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. WHEN I CALLED IT WAS A REALLY BUSY WEEKEND AND IT WAS AFTER BUSINESS HOURS BUT THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY (ANOTHER FAMOUS COMPANY THAT CLAIMS SAME DAY SERVICE WAS UNABLE TO COME LOOK AT THE A/C FOR FOUR DAYS). THE PERSON THAT FIXED OUR A/C UNIT WAS VERY COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL AND LET US KNOW AFTER HE LOOKED AT THE UNIT EXACTLY HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST US BEFORE HE DID ANY TYPE OF SERVICE TO IT. WE AGREED TO HIS PRICE (HIGH, BUT I THINK PRETTY MUCH ALL COMPANIES ARE REGARDING THIS) AND HE WENT TO WORK AND HAD THE UNIT RUNNING WITHIN 30 MINS. WAS RECOMMENDED TO THIS COMPANY VIA A FRIEND AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHER FRIENDS AS WELL.

HAVE USED THE COMPANY FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS. MOST OF OUR EXPERIENCES WERE QUITE POSITIVE. RECENTLY, A SERVICE VISIT WAS NEEDED. WHEN THE FURNACE BROKE DOWN AGAIN A SHORT TIME LATER, I CALLED FOR ANOTHER VISIT, AND SINCE I HAVE BRONCHITIS, A QUICK REPAIR WAS CERTAINLY PREFERRED. THEY WERE SLOW TO RESPOND, WOULD NOT COMMIT TO AN APPOINTMENT OF ANY KIND & WERE ALSO RUDE. AFTER THEY DISCOVERED MY ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERSHIP, THEY CHANGED THEIR ATTITUDE, MADE AN APPOINTMENT, & I'M PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE THAT RESULTED.

THEY PUT BOOTIES ON THEIR FEET TO KEEP FLOORS FROM GETTING DIRTY, AND GIVE YOU ADVICE THAT HELPS YOU WITH PROBLEM AREAS. THEY CALL AHEAD OF TIME TO LET YOU KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE THERE.

THE TECHNICIAN, KENNEY RICHARDS, WAS POLITE AND INFORMATIVE ABOUT WHAT HE HAD FOUND IN HIS INSPECTION OF BOTH THE GAS FURNACE AND THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. I CANNOT SAY WHETHER THE PRICE OF $167.00 WAS FAIR/MODERATE AS I DID NOT SHOP AROUND FOR PRICES.

I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE COST BECAUSE THE UNIT IS STILL SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER WARRANTY (5 YEAR WARRANTY), BUT THEY SAID THE UNIT IS 6 YEARS OLD, EVEN THOUGH THE HOME IS 4 YEARS OLD, AND SO THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. IT TOOK ME 3 DAYS TO GET THEM OUT THERE. MEANWHILE, I HAD A TENANT WHO WAS WITHOUT A/C AND COMPLAINING. THE ACTUAL TECHNICIAN THAT CAME OUT WAS VERY NICE; HOWEVER, WHEN I COMPLAINED OVER THE PHONE, I COULD HEAR THE OWNER UNWILLING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HE CAME ACROSS AS BEING ARROGANT AND UNWILLING TO COMPROMISE IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
