Description of Work: What a wonderful experience! The phone was answered immediately when I called. An emergency call interfered with the original time we set up. I was called in advance to schedule a time the same day that worked for me. I was given the options and prices to correct my problem. Excellent communication and professionalism from everyone I interacted with. The quality of the work was fantastic.

 + 1 moreI called around 2 pm on 7/25/12 and he was there within an hour. The water heater was 21 years old so we placed it rather than try to fix it. He went out and got a new tank. He removed the old one. He replaced it and I had hot water by 8 pm. He worked until it was in and taken care of. He left around 7:30 pm. Great responsiveness.
Description of Work: removed and replaced 40 gallon gas water heater in garage.

 + -1 moreWe had an underground water line break on a Sunday afternoon. Mr. Savelle was at our home within an hour of the call. He surveyed the situation, and recommended that we replace the water line rather than repair it. I was hesitant to commit to such an expensive repair, and as we talked he found ways to reduce the cost. However in the end, I dug up the broken water line and repaired it myself. But his prompt service call and advice were valuable.
Description of Work: Investigated the water leak, gave estimate for repair, and began preparations for the work.

Description of Work: There was a leak in the ceiling and we did not know where it was coming from. However, once the leak was found it was fixed right away by the plumber.

Description of Work: I called Al about a clogged drain for the AC that had leaked in HVAC closet. He suggested that he would come out if it would make us feel better. He arrived about 11:30 PM, he confirmed the leak. He told us he could unclog the drain, but it would be better to put in a pipe connection to the bathroom sink. He said it would be $150 including the Angie's List discount. He agreed to come back at 9:00 or 9:30 AM the next day. He ran into problems with an earlier appointment, so he called to tell us that. Also some parts for the new drain cost more than he anticipated. With my approval he charged us the difference $50. Then he went to work being very careful not to make a mess or damage. He worked for at least two and a half hours. He had put in a drain that was up to date. He cleaned up everything. The ;price all told was $200. Can't be more satisfied. He was very friendly, knowledgable, and skilled. He's in my address book. I have recommended him to five neighbors.

He listened to us, checked out what could be the problem, and gave us a great explanation as why not to worry since it was a non-issue. He also fixed an issue with our kitchen sink while he was here. Yes, he does it all...including the kitchen sink. Great experience. No worries. Thanks, Al!

 + -1 moreOur disposal had been leaking for weeks and finally the motor burned out. I called Al in the morning and he was able to come by and install it by late afternoon. He gave me a quote over the phone. He didn't mind if I picked up the new disposal myself from Lowe's for him to install and told me which one to get. He arrived on time, put in the disposal quickly, and cleaned up the whole area before he left. We would definitely use him again in the future.

Description of Work: I had Al replace two toilets in our home. Both my wife and I are disabled so we were looking for toilets that were better able to meet our needs. He set up an appointment time with me and called on my scheduled day to let me know he was coming. He knew exactly what to do. He was very fast and very organized. He also was very friendly and informative. He went to work and did everything with no issues since he knew what he was doing and had all of the needed tools and parts with him. He was ready for any problem that he might encounter. The installation was perfectly done. He cleaned up everything. He vacuumed afterwards. His work area was spotless and the toilet worked perfectly. My wife was very pleased with the entire job. Al is definitely MY plumber from now on for any plumbing job I may have. If you hire him, you will be glad you did. I sure am. He is the best plumber I have ever had.
Description of Work: Al removed my old toilet and installed a new modern one in its place. That included the prep work such as removing the old wax ring, clean up, cutting the rusty bolts, installing a new longer water line, applying silicone sealant around the toilet base and all assembly of the new toilet.

 + 1 moreAt first I thought it was a clog in the lines under the house.He tried to unclog it from the house and then from the street.When he went from the street end he pulled out dirt.That told him the line had collapsed.They dug up the front yard to get to the line.We watched the whole time.They were nice and did not mind me watching or asking questions.We saw that the pipe connections had broken and the ends were partially collapsed.They replaced two sections of pipe and the clean out that was buried under the yard.He was professional and courteous.He covered the pipes, leveled the yard as best as possible and put grass seed and straw down.He was prompt and done what he said he would do.I would use again.
Description of Work: I had a sewer line back up which ended up being a collapsed sewer line to the street.

His price was reasonable, so we scheduled the job to be do the following week. Al was on time and let me know how things where going throughout the job. I will use him again, I was very pleased.

Description of Work: My total house water filter failed (25 years old). I contacted several plumbers through Angies list, during the weekend. Al and one other plumber responded within hours. Al came out immediately to get enough information to determine if he could still get repair parts. Al contacted me and suggested that I procure a new filter system from Lowes because repair parts were not available at a reasonable price. I took Al's advice and he came out the morning after I procured the equipment and installed the new filter.

The gentleman who did the work was very polite. He answered any and all of our questions. Before he left he made sure everything worked properly and that there were no leaks.
Description of Work: A gentleman from American Plumbing Services installed a new shower head and hot and cold water control knobs to our main bathroom shower. They also installed a new flushing mechanism in the tank of our toilet.

He was very personable and friendly. He made sure that he set the new water heater right to the factory required settings. They made sure that I was completely satisfied and did not take along time to install them either. I thought that the price was very good considering the superb quality of the products. There were three men that came out and they were very professional and personable.
Description of Work: We had three new toilets installed. These are top of the line toilets that are guaranteed to not clog. They also swirl and self clean themselves. They are heavy duty and all plumbing lines were corrected to fir the toilets. The water pressure was adjusted as well.
