Description of Work: Our 25 year old air conditioner went out. Adams came over for a service call and advised us that the unit was very old, and that the compressor was going bad. He charged it with freon and let us know that it could last one day or one year. This cost $450.00. 7 days later it went out again. Adams came back and told us the compressor was out. We asked them to check out the gas furnace also and learned that it was just as old. We deceided to replace both units. Adams had both new units installed and running 3 days later. We have an infant, and it was very hot outside. They gave us another "shot" of freon to keep the house cool that night until the new unit arrived the following day. The price was fair, they showed up on time, did a great job, cleaned the work area, took away the old units, lined up the inspection, and once everything was completed, made an appointment to come over and show us everything and collect payment. The only complaint I have is that they do not take American Express. We could have gotten some serious points for an $8,000 charge! Adams took the cost of the initial fix ($450.00) from the invoice.

+ -1 moreno heat, Christmas eve, who would even be available? After consuting the list, Adams responded IMMEDIATELY and the technician could not have been more courteous, professional, and helpful. He advised re: the problem and offered alternatives.We had to wait for a part and he even called over the holiday weekend to make sure all was set for his return on the 27th. These guys are great, I'd give them an A++ if possible.
Description of Work: diagnostic needed and determined control board had been fried. Replaced the control board on our 17 yr old furnace.

+ -1 moreThey were very responsive. They had a good price. They had a special early season coupon, so that was good. It may be 30 minutes to an hour to do that system. The guy was very helpful. He gave me some tips just to maintain the heater and different things.

Description of Work: Technician diagnosed the problem (a tech from another company caused the compressor on the air conditioner to fail by failing to re-install the capacitor correctly when they were doing a routine systems check.) Ordered a new compressor and made an appointment to install it on Monday. Checked the other company's work on the furnace where a new capacitor had been installed (this one had been correctly installed).

+ -1 moreService was commendable. I called because this was the third time in 1 year that I had no cold air coming from my system. I had another company refill the freon last August and again in June. Because of this frequency, I decided to call Adams because they had replaced my system four years ago and the unit was still under warranty. Dan arrived at my home timely and found the freon levels to be low, which he then refilled. He also inspected the unit and did not find any issues. Because of the timing of the service being close to a season change, he recommended that I consider a full system inspection in the spring for a possible freon leak. I was very satisfied with the information and the level of service I received during this service call.

Description of Work: Serviced 2 air conditioning systems; checked air filters, evaporator coils, drains, freon levels, and controls. Rinsed off condensing units. Returned 6 months later for heating unit inspections at no charge (since price included summer and winter inspections).

Allowed us to have AC over the weekend. Returned on Tuesday, replaced with correct capacitor for unit, cleaned the system and inspected. Extremely pleased with thoroughness of work.

Description of Work: We've used Adams for our seasonal HVAC servicing and in late February our heater went out on a Saturday. We called their weekend service group, and they responded quickly. They charged $90 to look at the system and told us we had an electrical problem that couldn't be fixed at that time. Monday another representative came out to our home and re-evaluated our problem as a leak in our system. We were told that visit was covered in our initial payment however, they charged us an additional $90 without any resolution to our problem. We requested an estimate to fix the problem and they never gave us a quote after spending $180 on visits to tell us what was wrong. Useless service, may the buyer be ware.

+ -1 moreALL CALLS WERE NOT RETURNED, AND THE RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL. I HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH THEM, AND I GUESS THEY FELT THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR THEIR SERVICES. THE FIRST DAY THEY WERE SCHEDULED TO COME, THEY DIDN'T!
Description of Work: WE CALLED 3 TIMES OVER A 3 WEEK PERIOD TO HAVE A PIPE UNDER THE HOUSE LOOKED AT, AND THEY NEVER CAME UNTIL AROUND 20 DAYS AFTER MY FIRST CALL.
