Description of Work: They tore a hole in air system instead of unscrewing the panel to tell me my coils were dirty. They never called back to come finish cleaning them so I did it myself.The serve man was very rude and belittling. Maybe because I was a woman he didn't think I could do it myself. They did come out and repair the hole after I called the manager and complained. I hope I never have to deal with them again.

[member name removed] We came to your home to provide service for the warranty company you contracted with for service. Upon arrival the problem was the unit had not been serviced and it was so dirty the entire evaporator coil was 100% clogged with dirt. There was no filter in the system again this is a maintenance issue. We phoned the warranty company with our diagnosis of the call and THEY DENIED COVERAGE DUE TO LACK OF MAINTENANCE on your part. We came back and sealed the opening in the ductwork at no charge to you. By the way the only way on your system to access the coil was to create a "service opening". It was our intent to clean the coil and make the repairs but your warranty company told us you didn't have coverage for the repairs under your contract. I think it is fair to say you have taken unwarranted accusations against our company because the repairs were not made for you. It is the homeowners responsibility to maintain and keep a simple filter in the system which you didn't do. If you had done these things the repair would have been made. It is easy to report to Angie's list one side of the story which depicts the company as a deceptive operator, in this case we wanted to respond withe the non emotional common sense facts about the situation at your home. Terrible.
Description of Work: This company is a ripoff artist. I had initial contact with them when our water heater went out. I contacted my home warranty company and they contract with Accent for their plumbing services. The home warranty approved the replacement of the water heater and Accent plumbing was to perform the work. Accent plumbing came back with a charge of over $500 for so called non-covered charges. I was very unhappy with this scam but felt I had no option but to have them install the heater. It took them almost a week to come out and replace the water heater and then they tried to install a damaged water heater. The heater was scraped and dented. When I called their office I was told that all water heaters come with dents and scratches!? I finally had enough and told them to cancel the install and I would find someone else to do the work. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

- is a contract holder for warranty services. When we diagnosed the problem for her we call her and the warranty company (who controls what she pays for the installation) to explain what is needed to repair/replace the water heater. The North Carolina State Mechanical Code mandates that certain items need to be installed if the are not present on the existing systems to bring them up to the current and safe mechanical operating requirements. The warranty company not Accent determines if they are going to pay for the upgrades to code or the customer is responsible. They determined the homeowner did not have coverage for these items and the homeowner would have to pay. We called the homeowner before we scheduled the installation of the water heater and explained what each item was for and why it was needed. She approved the costs before we scheduled the installation for her. So this should not have been viewed as an unkown as she knew in advance and it was recorded with the warranty company. In terms of the dent or scratch on the exterior of the heater casing, they are manufactured so thin these days a certain amount of scratching or indentation of the outer shell does occur at times. It has no impact on the performance of the equipment or the warranty of the equipment. It is cosmetic. I doubt anyone goes into the garage and looks at the exterior casing of their water heater after it is installed. If the other company that installed the water heater didn't pull permits and bring the unit up to code it would have been cheaper for the homeowner. However, if she would have focused on the safety and completeness of the job which we are bound to do for our clients she would have had peace of mind and a professionally installed water heater. If she didn't pull permits and have it inspected she runs the risk of property damage and possible bodily injury due to scalding etc. which is what we were trying to protect her from. Description of Work: My Home warranty company called them to fix duct work for me (Not getting air flow to kitchen area) They were out that day but had to get approval from the warranty co. That was a thurs. I called back Fri to see if they got approval but did not push as they were real busy with emergencies and mine wasn't as I did have heat. Then we got the snow & Ice Sunday-tues. They called Tues and said they would be here between 9:00 & 11:00 on Wed. They were here very close to 9:00 am as they said. Bryan was great and fixed the duct and got air flowing better than I had before. They were very nice and did a great job. I would use them again even if it came out of my pocket.

Project went very well. Since we have a Homeowners Warranty when my Air conditioning was not working. Company assigned Accent. Accent was very responsive. Tech replaced thermostat but did not have a programmable thermostat available on truck. Tech arranged for company to obtain one and have it installed at no extra charge.
Description of Work: Analyzed A/C problem. Replaced the thermostat. Company was assigned by warranty company.

Service to be performed between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:00PM. At 3:55 PM I found the serviceman sitting in his truck parked on the street in front of my house. I walked (in the rain) to his truck and told him when he was ready pull in the back. He stated he had been waiting over an hour and ask me if I wanted my heat fixed. I said yes and he drove off without doing any work or getting paid.
Description of Work: Serviceman had a very poor attitude. He was very unpleasant. Drove off without performing the work.

Member, With all due respect, there may be a bit more to the story than what is being shared here. Our technician, Gary was early for the appointment and sat in the van as no one opened the door or responded to him. Then the customer came out to the van and cursed our technician for trying to come early to the appointment. After the verbal abuse by the customer our tech left the property. Sometimes you can't win.

I appreciated the knowledge and honestly of this company. The workers were professional and friendly. I felt that they made an honest assessment of my air conditioner. They made the necessary recommendation that my air conditioner needed to be replaced. I was happy with their service.
Description of Work: Action Heating & Cooling did an evaluation on my air conditioner. They determined that the air conditioner was old and worn out. They suggested to my warranty company that the unit be replaced. They suggested that a new unit of the same 1.5 ton size be installed.

They were able to get us into their schedule in two days, which was a relief because it was summer. The worker (I don't remember his name) was very polite and on time. We asked to be called prior to their arrival and they accommodated us. The worker put booties over his shoes when he entered the house (I appreciated it) and went straight to work. He was finished in about 30 minutes. He showed me the part that was broke and explained why the AC wasn't working. He was very polite too.
Description of Work: We had to call our Home Warranty company because our AC stopped blowing cold air. They sent out Accent Heating and Cooling. They replaced a part (I don't remember the name) and charged only a service fee.

The technician did a very good job repairing my air conditioner because I haven't had any problems with it after he came by. He cleaned up any mess that he made and he was very courteous. He was quite efficient because the entire process only took about 45 minutes.
Description of Work: He replaced the starter for the compressor on the air conditioner in the back of the house.
