I submitted my home warranty claim over the phone to the warranty company in the evening, and the next morning at 8:15 I received a call from Accent's scheduling coordinator, offering to come to my home that afternoon at 3pm. At 2:30pm, I received a call from Tim, the technician, notifiying me that he would arrive at 3pm. He arrived right on time, diagnosed the problem, called in the parts order, tightened up the loose fittings, and departed, promising that the part would be installed within 48 hours. But, 21 hours later, I received a call from Accent's scheduler, offering to come that afternoon to install the part at 1pm. At 12:20pm, I received a call from Lance, the tech, and he arrived promptly at 1pm. He had the part installed within 10 minutes, we tested the system, pronounced it good, and we were done! Easy interaction, quick, great service, super pleasant techs and scheduler.

work was excellent. delay was not.
Description of Work: New water heater. Arranged through American Home Shield. Out of pocket cost was to bring heater up to code. Excellent work. Took 7 days from the time I called AHS until the work was completed. This is excessive for a leaking water heater.

Members comments regarding the delay are due to the time of the approval process which was controlled by him and AHS as his contract is with the warranty company and we work through them to provide the services. Once a call is received by our company it is generally serviced within 24 hours. At that point, AHS has to approved the claim for coverage and order the equipment. Also the homeowner is advised of the charges not covered by his contract with AHS and he would have to approve them for the job to be scheduled. Checking the schedule we ran the service call the same day we received the dispatch for service from AHS. The heater replacement was called in on the same day for approval from AHS. Also we installed the heater the morning after receipt of approval of the costs which was 4 days after we received the original service call. Lastly, we did not charge for one of the items on the list of costs as it was not needed as originally thought. The warranty company's generally cause delays in service, approval or providing the equipment to be installed. It is rare we as an installing company would delay an installation due to lack of resources. Dan Mills - Partner Accent Comfort Services

Came out and diagnosed fault with evaporator coil after a prior contractor added freon to the air con which did not fix the problem. Accent were a pleasure to deal with. Their customer service center always picked up the phone and called back promptly. They even called on Saturday to try to schedule an appointment. The professionalism of their technicians and customer support was excellent.

Our upstairs air conditioning unit was not working and we called them for service. They were very quick on getting back with us to set up an appointment to assess the situation. They found that our coil needed to be replaced because it was leaking in our air handler. The part is currently being ordered and they will be coming back to do the repair. The repair is being done through our American Home Warranty so the price is less for service due to that. We think highly of Accent Heating and Cooling and also use them for preventative maintenance also. They work so well with us and the warranty company. All around they do a good job. They do not have a whole lot of turn around on their employees and they are very nice people. We continue to pay ahead two years at a time for preventative maintenance because they do such a good job.

Our upstairs air stopped cooling a month ago, and we called our warranty company about the problem (we have just purchased this home in the last 6 months). The warranty company dispatched Accent to our property to assess the problem. We were told that the compressor needed to be fixed. As the technician was diagnosing the problem, my husband asked what a new unit for our home would cost, just out of curiosity. The technician told him about 10,000 dollars and was rude and short with my husband. (My parents just had a new unit for their much larger home installed for under 4,000 and my husband's company just had a new unit installed for his office at 3500 after receiving 3 bids). We brushed the technician's attitude off and scheduled our compressor to be replaced. Accent cancelled our scheduling date twice. We were without air upstairs for a MONTH before they came back out. My husband had to leave work 3 times throughout this process. At that time, the technician came out and told my husband that we owed 120 dollars for a cleaning. He asked my husband for the payment at that time. We did not pay. Then a sales rep called and said there were further problems that needed to be addressed that would total 610 dollars (neither of these cost were covered under our warranty). I was angry that we were being told that we owed 120 for work we did not authorize, so I called Accent. I spoke to a someone initially when my call was answered, I spoke with a sales person then asked to speak to manager. I was disconnected. They later called my husband back. No one I spoke to or my husband spoke to was friendly or apologetic about the situation and the confusion. When I called to talk to the warranty company about exactly what was not covered, they told us the compressor had not been replaced yet. When I called Accent, they told us it had been replaced. We are asking a local Heating and Cooling company to come assess what else needs to be done, and have the rest repaired. Even if we have to pay more, I would rather feel that the company was honest and respectful than dealing with Accent again, who we found to be disrespectful of our time and knowledge of the situation, as well as having serious issues with scheduling.

The facts of this situation are a not accurate. We went to the home and identified a compressor had failed. We called the repair into the warranty company and scheduled the call and installed it 4 days later after it was ordered and available for pickup from the warranty company supplier. The cost to the customer for this repair was ZERO as the warranty company covered all the costs. Once we installed the compressor and began to start up the unit we found pressures in the system were not as specified by the manufacturer. Upon further investigation by our technician we found a blockage or restriction in the evaporator coil. We attempted to clear the restriction but were unable to do so. The solution is to replace the evaporator coil. We advised the home owner and called it into the warranty company for authorization. They told us the out of pocket to the customer was XX dollars and we processed the claim. The home owner did call in and asked about the nature of the costs which we explained to her. She didn't agree and wanted to talk to a manager. The manager was with another customer at the time and the customer hung up. We called her back and she refused to agree to the charges her warranty company would not cover and we didn't do the work. We don't have any sales personnel on staff at the company. Customer service and Management. No repairs would be done or were done without the customers approval. Nothing was done behind the customers back. Dan Mills Partner

Accent was hired by our Home Warranty company to perform a repair. They supposedly ordered the par. Kept saying it was in transit. After 10 days of this, we were then told it was back orderedI called the manufacturer and within 20 hours of my call the part was at Accent, who then came to install it. This company had a don't care attitude and no willingness to work to get a broken furnace fixed since it was a warranty repairEvery call was a sorry we cant do anything to get it faster. Mr. [member name removed] You are correct this took longer than expected. The delay was the part had to be an OEM part which was made and shipped directly from the factory. We didn't have an option to install a generic part or we would have repaired it while at the home. Since the part was part of the gas system and a life safety device, we felt it was most responsible to wait to get the manufacturers specified part so as to not create a danger to your mother. If being responsible and doing the correct repair is a bad thing we apologize. We did suggest options to provide temporary heaters through the warranty company. Accent contacted me almost immediately after I contacted my Home Appliance Insurer about my problem. They were pleasant and concerned. The tech was at my house in the evening that day. Jesse quickly found I needed a new Gas Control Valve and Thermocouple on my 6-year-old hot water heater. The parts were ordered and he made a special trip three days later on a Saturday to install them. He was professional, pleasant and definitely knew what he was doing. I was very impressed with the repair and with Jesse.

I will say that being a Angie's List customer made me feel very confident with calling Accent. The warranty company had given me the name of another company first. I went onto Angie's List to see if they were listed. Fortunately they were but had a F rating and people had written horrible comments. I immediately called the warranty company asked for another name. Once I was given Accent HVAC name I looked them up on Angie's List before contacting them. They had rave reviews. It was a positive experience all the way around. I plan on using them for my seasonal checks ups.
Description of Work: My air conditioner went out on a Sunday. I called my warranty company and they got me in touch with Accent. I called them on a Monday and they told me it would be Wednesday before they could come. We had a appointment for 6:00. The tech name was Shawn and he arrived on time. Luckily it was a small part that needed to be replaced. It only took him a few minutes to complete the work. I recently purchased the home so I didn't know the age of the unit. While he was there Shawn was kind enough to answer questions I had about my unit. He told me what year it was and about how long it would be last. He also answered my questions about whey there were so many air returns in the house and if I needed filters on them. I also asked about buying a solar unit. He was very informative and took the time to address all of my questions. Since this was under warranty I only had to pay the $60 deductible.

I have a home service management plan. So, when the air conditioning went out, I called them and they sent Accent out. I pay the regular cost for the technician to come. The actual cost for the repair, parts and everything is paid for by my insurance company. I was very pleased with them. The technician was extremely courteous and worked efficiently. He was really good. He explained everything to me even when I didn’t ask him a question. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. So, that was very good. I don’t know the cost of the materials, but I paid about $75. The quality of their work was fine. I called them last Friday, but they couldn’t get here until Tuesday because they were booked for the weekend. The technician said that he would be here at 9 o’clock and he was here at 9 o’clock. His professionalism was very good. I felt confident because it seemed to me like he knew what he was doing. If I have an air conditioning problem again, then I would tell my warranty company that I want Accent to do the work.

Shane may have been the best service person I have ever dealt with. He told me to call his cell that same night to let him know how the system reacted to what he did. He then called me the next two days to follow up on the readings, and provide advice. Overall, there may be additional issues that need to be resolved for our upstairs unit to properly function (may need attic fan installed), but all in all I had confidence that Shane did everything he could to resolve the issue.
Description of Work: Issue was our upstairs air conditioning unit was not working properly. Shane examined our outside A/C unit to check all the various readings. He also noted that the hedges surrounding our unit were not allowing for proper air flow, and he made a recommendation that we cut them down. He then went into our attic to take readings up there. In the end, he needed to clean out the unit from cottonweed that was trapped in it, and he needed to add freon.

They had an AC installed a few months prior and the condensation from the hose was causing it, so all it took was moving the hose. Part of me thought I should have figured it out, but part of me thought that Accent should have told me there would be more water because it was a high efficiency AC. I don't think I should have had to pay $60 for that, but I did.

The amount of water coming from the condensate line has to do with a few things. It can be a combination of the amount of humidity in the air/home, the amount of run time of the AC unit, and the duration of the hot weather in the area. It would be hard to predict what the flow would be from a given unit but generally we test them while we are there to make sure there is not a nuisance or puddling. The efficiency of the equipment has little to do with the volume of water coming out of the condensate line. The more efficient the equipment is the less cost to operate in general. It doesn't produce more condensate as the efficiency rises as a general rule.

Both plumbers who visited our house were very competent and professional. The back office support was very poor. They were very slow in calling the warranty program to obtain approval for the water heater replacement, and never - ever - returned my calls for status as promised.
Description of Work: As a subcontractor to a nationally known home warranty program, Accent installed a 50 gallon water heater. The warranty program covered all of this cost except for $60. The balance of the charge was to bring all associated piping, vents, etc., up to current code.

Member, The warranty company drives the approval process for the installation of the hot water tank and the ordering and delivery of equipment to our company. Many times the warranty company does not know the status of the call or when the call will be scheduled. We attempt to call all customers in a timely fashion to advise of the status, tell them of the charges, and schedule the call for installation. I would say that there had to be some communication or we wouldn't have been able to get approval for the installation and the charges and a date to do so. We will review your case and see what transpired.

Our home warranty company sent them out and I would use them again even if I don't have the home warranty. My husband was ill and they worked us in the same day or the next day because it was extremely hot. It was a great experience. He worked me through everything that he did and explained all of the equipment in the a/c and even oiled the outside unit. He made sure the freon was tipped off. He did a lot of things that he was not asked to do. His name was Tim and I was very happy with him and I called their company afterwards to let them know. He never talked down to me and he explained everything. He was very nice. The company called to follow up and they even called when he was here to make sure that he had arrived.
Description of Work: We used Accent Heating & Cooling to fix our a/c. The drain line had clogged and the pan in the attic had gotten some water in it. There was a sensor in the pan that would shut down the unit if water gets in it.

When I first called, it was a frustrating experience b/c the receptionist asked me to repeat everything 4 times. Once I spoke with some of the other employees, my experience greatly improved (Pat's great). When they came out to estimate, there was a mix up with the call ahead. I called to make sure someone was coming out and they considered this my call ahead, without making me aware of that. They called me after he had been sitting in the parking lot for a few minutes. The service man was very friendly and pleasant, gave me a high estimate. Darrell was supposed to call me with a better quote and I wound up having to call in to check. I left the door unlocked the day of the installation, so I would not have to be there (good thing as they were running several hours late and had sent the coil to the wrong place). The coil was smashed a little and so they sent someone to comb it. The repairman forgot the 30 min. call ahead. Luckily, I hadn't left for work yet and was able to go over.
Description of Work: They estimated the work to repair the HVAC indoor coil. Suggested replacement for about the same cost as repair. Replaced the indoor coil of my HVAC.

Dan of Accent Heating and Cooling called me within a couple of hours of the insurance company giving the work order. He had a repairman out the following morning. The repairman was very thorough and explained to me in detail what he was doing and what to expect in terms of his return to repair the unit after the part was ordered and overnighted. I would call them back in an instant. I am not sure of the exact price, since it was covered by my insurance.
