A-1 Wildlife Control

I waited 3 days to hear from A-1, before I called, I left a message with return phone # . I called back 2 more times and my fiancé called once, each time leaving a message. Finally a week later I basically told them in the message that the superior service award they got from Angie's list was not winning any awards with me. And FINALLY I received a call back. However she told me the earliest she could schedule me was a month out. But would call if they could come sooner. Well guess what? Still no call. Needless to say, I called another wildlife control company. They came out the same day, did the work, I'm very satisfied. And charged $399 to do it.

Really well. We call them on Sunday and they reply really fast. They inspected all the house with no addittionsl cost. They fixed the problem.

Everything went very well. They sent a technician out who gave me his cell phone number and always replied promptly. He was polite, knowledgeable, very encouraging that he would take care of the situation.

Arrived on time and assessed the situation. Fearlessly climbed the ladder to remove birds' nests from the 2nd floor dryer vent and the third floor bathroom vents with possible birds/eggs in them. Installed covers on all the vents. Also checked inside the attic. A bit expensive for the amount of time spent, but worth it considering the danger in having to climb up two or three stories on a ladder to remove nests from the vents and install covers.

Suspected birds were living in the attic. Office manager was very helpful when setting up service call. She clearly explained how the process works and possible courses of action and fee structure up front. Technician was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to inspect the area, clean out the nest (no birds found at the time) and install vent covers in about 30 minutes. I would definitely use the company again if needed and highly recommend.

I found a snake in my house this morning. I thought it was a copperhead! I was completely freaked out and didn't know what to do at first. When I looked on Angies List I found A1 and knew they were the BEST so I called and spoke to the owner's wife. I asked if someone could come to my house ASAP as an emergency. She was great. She advised me to take a picture and send her the picture via text and told me someone would come to my house this morning. She immediately replied after she received the picture. It was not a copperhead. Not too long after her reply the owner and his wife came to my house. They came because their other technicians were busy. I was so appreciative because they could have told me they would need to reschedule (like other companies would have done). Allen looked everywhere and found several places where the snake could have entered my house. He checked the garage and crawl space for mice and found evidence. Allen made his suggestions on how to fix the issues (mice, spaces around doors and crawl space vents, and an opening from crawl space to gas cook top) - I agreed because I trusted him and his wife. I was glad he was able to fix the issues instead of just telling me the areas of concern. I feel more comfortable now that they came to my house. I thought I would have to move into a hotel until my husband came home from out of town. A1 is a full service company - they can do everything needed for wild life control!!!!!!

They're one of the two fantastic pest control service providers that I will only deal with.

It went well. I called Tuesday afternoon explaining that I had an animal in my wall that was scatching and appeared to be stuck/tapped . The representative advised the earliest someone could arrive would be Wednesday afternoon. The represenative advised that there would be a charge of 149.00 for the call and that included cutting open the wall and removing the animal. Once technican showed, I explained the issue. He checked the outside vents and found bird nest and concluded it was probably a bird that got trapped and probably dead. He advised he could put up the vent covers which would be 90.00 together. He cleaned out the bird nest and in the dryer vent actually removed a bird and nest that had clogged the vent. I inquired about the trapped (possible dead bird/ animal)..he advised if I knew where the animal was he could cut a hold in the wall and remove. He advised that it would be additional charge of 50.00 to cover the whole. So I advised him where I heard the scatching and he drilled a whole and put the camera in and found the dead bird. He proceeded with cutting a small square and removed the bird. He repatched the square with pink putty that dried white. The vent covers are very secure and has a year warranty. So overall all went well and was successful.

Very good experience. Felipe handled the setting of the traps for the squirrels and Sean handled the repairs to the roof. Both of these gentlemen were very professional, arriving when promised, took time to explain what they were doing and why. I can recommend this provider without reservation.

First off, I would only recommend flying squirrels on my worst enemy. And yes, there are flying squirrels in the Carolina's. We would hear noises over our head while sleeping at night. We thought it was mice or raccoon in attic. Felipe came out and determined we have flying squirrels. They had chewed a hole in the netting of one of our louver vents in the attic. They are nocturnal so they sleep in the insulation during day and play and roll around nuts at night, which is why people never see them. If you have them, A1 recommends rat traps. We did not like idea of killing them however we wanted to sleep. They are actually kind of cute and look like baby regular squirrels. It was a stressful 3 - 4 weeks. Felipe did a good job of educating us and calming down my better half regarding the situation. Felipe also removed a bat that was hibernating in the louver vent. After catching the squirrels the noises stopped, Shawn from A1 came out to replace the screens and and to place wiring around the louver vents. He also sealed up some rain gutters as a protective measure against potential future problems. He worked quickly and professionally. Only concern was he worked by himself in wet conditions and ladders on two story house. At end of the day we are glad the squirrels are gone and that we used A1. Enjoyed working with both Felipe and Shawn. Both very friendly and professional. They always put plastic over their shoes when entering the house. If there is one complaint it's that it was a bit pricey in my opinion. Then again I could not have done the work myself. At $49 per squirrel the bill can add up fast. On a side note we did call Carolina Wildlife Control first and they quoted $30 per animal, however they did not show up the next day as promised (something about a family emergency). A1 did have to make about 7-8 separate trips to the house. If it was closer to springtime I would recommend waiting until the squirrels find another day time home when it gets too hot for them in the attic, then sealing up entry points after they leave. Everything considered I think A1 and the team deserves a A rating.

Great service from start to finish. Squirrel caught, A-1 came right away and then came back to repair small gutter issue that had caused the problem. Detailed and thorough. Recommend enthusiastically

Poor communication and missed appointments. Took a 3 day job and turned it into 22 days or more. Poor workmanship. Had to redo.

Shawn did an excellent job. He is a very talented craftsman. The barrier he built looked better than the original lamp design that was installed when the house was built. He also thoroughly cleaned and disinfected the area of bird droppings, which was a major concern of mine.

My experience went very well. The staff was very processional and knowledgeable in their field. The pricing was reasonable and I would highly recommend this company to others.

Made recommendations on how to snake 'proof' the garage in future.

When I pulled the attic stairs down a half eaten nut came down. When I went up the stairs I could also see some of the insulation was scattered. I called A1 on 10/9 and made an appointment for 10/10 at 9:00. Tim came on time and went through the attic. Said it was mice (not squirrels) and gave me two quotes. One for him to scatter poison in the attic and another for me to buy the poison from him and do it myself. I had him do it. He then inspected the outside of the house to identify where they had entered. He gave me an another quote to have him close the holes around the crawl space vents and door. Since it only required caulking I decided to do it myself. Tim was professional and clearly explained the problem and solutions. I would recommend this company and Tim.

The crew was great...they came out and took a look at the vulnerabilities to our home and while evidence of activity was found, they were able to provide comfort that no infestation had occurred. Following the initial diagnosis, they secured various potential vulnerabilities to ensure no problems occurred in the future. The team was thoughtful, courteous and professional.

I called for help in the morning today and within 2 hours Felipe was at the house with all the equipment needed to remove the nest and animals and seal the entry so animals cannot come in through that vent. He took the time to explain what he planned to do to catch the squirrels. We were lucky that his strategy worked for getting the mother squirrel to come out into a cage that captured her alive. He said she would be released elsewhere and an attempt would be made to keep her with the babies. I understand she may abandon the babies and they will be raised by someone for release in the future.

Company never got back to me, so I couldn't schedule an appointment.

Chris kept resetting the trap when we couldn't get the squirrel and he called several times to ask how things were going. He was very professional and did a great job. He got the squirrel and fixed our hole in the attic. I would recommend him to anyone who has an animal living in their attic.

Great experience! Felipe was patient with all my bat questions. Learned that the bats are attracted to the bugs that gather around my exterior lights. Got to look at the bat and feel less afraid now that I know more about them.

He was very thorough and checked everywhere in the outdoor shed for the snake I spotted in there the day before. The snake had left the shed on its own. The technician checked for any spots in the shed where the snake could have entered and left and found a couple of places. He drilled screws and caulked those places so the snake would not be able to enter again. He was very thorough and did an excellent job.

They came out and looked in our attic and found that there were several entrance points for squirells. They sent a a guy out who was in full blown sales mode and told my wife all of the things wrong with our house (related and unrealted). They caught a few squiirrells and then we ended the relationship. I will say that each time we told the owner that there was a probelm he was professional and dealt with it - so they are relly strong in that respect.

We heard scuttling in our attic and we thought it was squirrels. We called A-1 and they came out right away and said it was actually mice! Gross!! I of course freaked out but they were very good at calming me down. They taught my husband how to spread the mouse poison in the attic. They also went around the house and fill in any holes around the foundation that they could get through. They also found bat droppings around the eves of our attic (double gross) so they put up this grate type thing to prevent them from coming back. All in all it was somewhere around 900 bucks. They were very professional and one of the guys actually fixed my pocket door while he was here. The darn thing came off its tracks and I was about to call a handyman. He saw my frustration and was so nice and fixed it in two seconds for me! Wonderful company! They really help put my mind at ease. And they were super nice to our little dog who was running around barking at them.
