A-1 DOOR SERVICES

Replaced two old electric garage doors, that did not work. Came and looked at the doors one day and gave me an estimate. great price. He looked up to see if they were in stock and they were, so he came the very next day and installed them. He took down the old doors and hauled everything away. He helped me move all the junk out of the way, so he could install the doors and put things back. He installed both new doors in just a few hours. Cleaned everything up and showed me how they worked. They look beautiful and make the front of the house look great. He was very professional and friendly. He called first when he was on his way and arrived on time. The garage had settled some, on one side, so the floor was an inch lower. He made adjustments to the door so it closed beautifully and you wouldn't know that the opening was off. He did great work. Would hire him again and tell anybody that needed help with their garage doors that he was the man to do it.

When I called, the repairman first advised me that it might be a cobweb or some such blocking the sensor. Had that been the problem, I would not need a service call. I checked the sensor, and it really was dead. The repairman came out and replaced the sensor and made a few other adjustments to the system.

When our garage door would not work, we immediately called A-1. He told us that he was on the way to another job and he would be at our house after that. He arrived promptly and quickly fixed the problem with the garage door springs.

Mr. Todd arrived in a very timely manner. He knew in advance what the problem with the garage door was, so he was prepared. He conducted the repair very professionally and finished the job quickly. Mr. Todd completed the job and did not try to sell anything that was not needed to complete it to our satisfaction We would certainly recommend A-1- Door Services.

Problems with my old garage door opener and needed to be replaced. I called Todd and made an appointment. He arrived on time and complete the job as we discusses. I could not be happier with the service and product replacement.

The job went well. I called on Friday evening and Sturdy was at my house Saturday morning with the new springs. He did not charge extra for an off hours call and did the job quickly and professionally. He did more than just replace the springs, he looked over the whole system - wires, hubs, rollers and pointed out things to watch for. He also tightened or replaced some screws in the door. I appreciated this above and beyond approach to his work.

I had an extension spring break on one of my garage doors. Mr Todd replaced both springs along with a pulley that was bent. Couldn't ask for better service. Highly recommend.

Mr. Todd is a man of his word. I appreciated that he answered the phone, called ahead of time to let me know he was on the way, showed up on time and did what he said he would do. We had been having periodic issues with our garage door not coming down properly. Sturdy Todd worked around our schedule and arrived promply at the appointed time. He found some issues with missing screws,performed basic maintenance and re-aligned the sensors. He gave us an honest evaluation and did not try to sell us anything additional. I would definitly use him again, if the need arises.

We were leaving for a weekend trip on Sunday morning and when we opened our garage door, the bracket that attaches the electric opener pulled loose. It was still attached enough to get the door closed, so we went off on our trip knowing that we would have to deal with it really soon. When we got to our destination I immediately went on Angie's List to find someone to make the repairs. A-1 had excellent reviews and we decided to call them. I left a message with the answering service and received a call-back within 10 minutes. I made an appointment for Wednesday afternoon, when we would be back from our trip. Sturdy Todd called me on Wednesday to let me know he was running a bit late, but was on his way. When he got there, he replaced the bracket and had everything fixed in about 30 minutes. We were afraid we would need to get a new door, but it turned out to be an easy repair. We had also considered replacing our opener but he advised that it really wasn't necessary. The bottom line is that he did not try to upsell us on anything we didn't need. He was really nice and I would use him again as well as recommend him to anyone. In fact, one of our neighbors is having the same problem with her door and I recommended A-1 to her.

I CALLED MONDAY MORNING AND AND THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED MONDAY AFTERNOON. HE TOLD ME RIGHT UP FRONT THAT HE COULD REPAIR THE DOOR... NO NEED TO REPLACE IT. HE INSTALLED LARGER HINGES AND INSTALLED A NEW PUSH BUTTON TO RAISE AND LOWER THE DOOR. QUICK AND EFFICIENT REPAIR.

I called A-1 this morning and they were at my house to repair it by 1:00 pm today. I couldn't have asked for more.

On Monday Sept. 10th, one of our garage doors wouldn't open, so I looked on Angie's List and found A-1 Garage Doors who came out within a couple of hours of my phone call. Sturdy Todd was the repairman, and after he repaired the broken door, he took his time and made the sure the other door was in good working order. He was extremely thorough and did a great job. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone.

After the malfunctioning became worse we placed a call to Sturdy in the morning and he was able to come out just a few hours later. He quickly diagnosed the problem (door sensors were not aligning properly) and was able to repair. He also braced a portion of the wooden door that was separating and lubricated the door brackets, all without charge. Very professional and pleasant to work with. For future needs, I will call Sturdy without hesitation.

Within just a few hours of leaving a message for him, Mr. Todd was able to fit me in. I know that this kind of service doesn't always happen, but he was working not far from our home when I called and he was able to come over. We LOVE the new garage door opener, and everything works perfectly.

I had contacted Mr. Todd for a couple of months, while I had to wait for HOA issues to be resolved. He was very empathetic, and gave clear ideas for replacing my garage door, with the one I had in mind. He was informative, professional and timely answering numerous phone calls and questions.Installation took just under two hours. I love the new door! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sturdy is a very genuine and courteous man and knows all there is to know about garage doors/systems. He advised me to keep my existing garage door b/c "they just don't make them like that anymore" when he could have easily gotten paid for a much bigger job by replacing the door. He also came up with a very unique and creative way to set my springs so they were no longer a danger to my family or our vehicles while leaving enough clearance for my wife's SUV, which other garage door "specialists" had told me was not possible. I can't remember the exact price of the work but I remember it being a lot less than I expected to pay. Oh, and I forgot to mention that he fit me in the day he was scheduled to leave for a vacation? Overall, on a scale of 1-10, Sturdy (and A-1) get are an 11!

Mr. Todd came out the day I called him to give me a quote for garage door repairs and for installing a new door/opener, depending on what we wanted to do. He was prompt, honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable in price. We decided to install a new door and opener, and he rearranged his schedule to make sure that our install happened quickly and to fit our schedule. The installation took only a few hours, and he explanined my new door/opener to me in details and also cleaned up as if he was never there. I read about A-1 on Angie's list and since they were local I decided to give them a call. I was told someone would be out in about an hour and Mitch showed up in about 45 minutes which was perfect. He immediately went to work replacing the springs and within 30 minutes or so had finished. He gave me a recommendation of adding a surge protector, readjusting the travel path and provided information about replacing the wheels when needed. Overall it was a great experience.

Sturdy Todd offers AMAZING customer service. Not only was he able to come immediately, he took time and care to explain to me what the problem was and how he could fix it. I was afraid he would say I needed to get a whole new door/opener but, while we both acknowledge the age of my unit, he was happy to fix it up so I could get a little more use out of it. He was prompt, called in advance to confirm the appointment, was a complete joy to work with. I would highly recommend him and collected a few cards to give to my home-owning friends. He is every bit as good as his glowing reviews attest!
