Excellent service. Was on time. Very professsional. Was completed in under an hour. Called late on Thursday and was able to come on Friday morning.

Arrived on time and completed work in a timely manner. No pressure to get anything done I didn't need.

Mr. Todd arrived at the time he said, he completed the job efficiently and even let me watch what he was doing. He explained what he was doing as he went along and even gave me a few pointers to keep my garage door opener working smoothly. Let's hope it lasts another 20 years! Anyway, give Mr. Todd a call. Our garage door opener stopped working and considering it was probably original to the house, built in '87, we thought it would likely need to be replaced. I initially chose another provider from Angie's List with an A rating who seemed to have the largest clientele based on the number of reviews. Almost a week later, they still haven't e-mailed or called me. Yesterday, I went back to the list and found Mr. Todd's company and so glad I did. I called first thing in the morning, he returned my call within an hour stating he was en route to another client's home but could come by midday. He called as promised, alerting me he was on the way and arrived shortly thereafter. He had all the necessary parts on his truck with him and was finished with the installation within probably an hour and a half. He provided detailed instructions on everything I needed to know. He was courteous, professional, reliable, obviously takes pride in his company. We would definitely use A-1 Door Services again. Highly recommend.

He explains things as he goes along. He's very pleasant, honest, prompt and does quality work. I would definitely call on him again and highly recommend him to friends/family.

I was very pleased with the work that Sturdy did on the garage door. He explained every thing as he went along. His recommendation to replace the rollers was very much appreciated as the door does not make as much noise when it opens and closes. He was prompt and very professional and his price was excellent. They were good and efficient. They came the same day to fix it. They diagnosed the problem immediately and had the parts with them to fix it. He even actually did maintenance on it while he was there. He did a little extra, which we liked. They did the job in a reasonable amount of time. We knew we had to get it done right away and they were available to do it.

The torsion spring on one of my garage doors broke midday on Christmas Eve. In the past, I had used Century Door company in Harrisburg, North Carolina and was very satisfied. I had a sticker in the garage with their phone numbers on it so I called. One number was disconnected and the other was A-1 Door Service. I spoke to an answering service at A-1 and Sturdy Todd, the owner, called me back within 30 minutes. He expressed that while he had already taken off for the Christmas week-end; that he'd rather take care of my issue immediately so that I would have a good Christmas week-end. I described the issue (broken torsion spring). He gave me a quote which I accepted. He said he was leaving immediately for my house, got here in less than an hour, made the repair and serviced my other door in less than an hour, kept to his quoted price, and did an excellent job. Based on my conversation with him while he was working, he seems both personable and knowledgable in his field. Based on other charges made to Angie's list members; he charged me a fair price. Heck, I thought the price so fair that I failed to look him up on Angie's List where I discovered he offered a discount to members.

Sturdy, visited the site on Monday afternoon, clearly explained the options, quoted a price on our choices, performed the work on Wednesday, demonstrated how the system works and how to lube the system (annual requirement), and left the site perfectly clean. Sturdy only uses high quality hardware. He is a true professional. We are perfectly satisfied at this point and highly recommend Sturdy.

Mr. Todd's knowledge of the product, he's a Genie Dealer, his prompt response to my call, his service, attitude and pricing, including my Angie's List discount, were all outstanding and he's highly recommended by me. It went great. The garage door is amazing. He is very courteous. He is very dependable, he said he was going to come at a certain time and he got there on time, never late.

Sturdy Todd, the owner and operator, came out 3 weeks prior to our installation, to review our garage door issues. He has taken care of our door for a long time, always fixing what is needed without trying to do more than necessary. Even this time, he said he could adjust the door and make it work better for $200-300, but we felt the 32 year old system should be replaced. Sturdy then showed us the options he could provide, how he even upgrades the hardware to make a stronger system, and went over what lift system options he'd suggest. He was honest about the pros and cons and left the decision to us. The installation was painless, since he removed the old and disposed of it as Eco-friendly as possible, and, with his assistant, replaced all in about 3-4 hours. We were amazed at how much quieter the system is, and have noticed a cooler garage already, with the insulated (steel) door. Winter effects should be even better. There were many color choices, so we were able to get a door that was enough of a match to work until we are able to paint to an exact match. We are always pleased with the ease of using A-1 Door Services, because Sturdy is so reliable and honest and does what he says he'll do. (He even fixed some things on the old door, free of charge, which made it work better while we were waiting 3 weeks for our new door to arrive.) You can't go wrong with this company!!

I looked up garage door companies when one of my garage door springs broke. A-1 Door Services had 44 recent reviews with A ratings in every review, including reviews of their spring repair work. Calling them was a no brainer. Sturdy Todd returned my call in a few minutes. He was available to come over as soon as he picked up some springs. He arrived when expected with everything he needed to get the job done. He worked quickly but carefully because springs wound tight enough to lift a 200 pound door can inflict serious injury. He finished the job within an hour and would have finished sooner if I had talked less and had less clutter in his way. I expected the price would be between $250 and $300 based on the reviews, so the $275 cost came as no surprise. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need or want. He replaced both springs (which I also expected based on the reviews) and guarantees them for 1 year. The garage door is operating very smoothly and quietly now. That is saying a lot because it is a very heavy wood door 16' wide with windows dating back to about 1985. Sturdy Todd understands that your reputation is only as good as your last job. I will not hesitate to call A-1 Door Services again when I need a repair or a replacement door.

Garage door was not closing properly. Mr. Todd fixed the problem and serviced the opener, which had not been done for years. Work was done in under 20 minutes - quick and efficient.

This was our second time using A-1 Door Services and both were a great experience. Our garage door quit working on Tuesday. It went up a few inches and then closed. I called A-1, left a message with the receptionist and within 30 minutes, Sturdy called me back. He said he would be there in the morning and he showed up promptly at 8:00 Wednesday morning. He explained that the springs that help lift the door had failed. He told me our options for repairs and said he had all of the necessary parts to do the job right then and there. One of my neighbors walked by and when I told him what was going on, he said he had to replace the same part on his garage door three years ago. He used a big national company and the price he paid was nearly identical to what Sturdy charged, so I really feel that I got a fair deal. He was done in 30 minutes and my door is as good as new.

He was prompt and completed the job in less than a hour. I was very pleased with the service and appreciated the fact that the company uses American made products as much as possible!

I called him around noon. He set up a time to come later that afternoon, came on time, figured out what was wrong, explained it clearly, fixed the door, and was on his way. Very nice guy. And competent. I'd recommend him.

I called A-1 Door Services and another provider on Angie's List to obtain estimates because one of the torsion springs broke on my garage door. I left voice mail messages for both companies, but Mr. Todd returned my call first. We discussed what was happening with my garage door and he had me check a few things while I was on the phone with him. I explained to him I wanted to get a few other estimates, which he was fine with. I felt like he was honest about the price and other pointers he gave me. Since it was due to snow that day and I was tired of lifting that heavy door manually, I decided to let Mr. Todd come out and replace the torsion springs right then. Mr. Todd along with another worker arrived 30 minutes later. It took them less than an hour to complete the job. When they finished and was on their way to their truck, it started snowing. Needless to say, I was happy that my garage door was working again.

We were impressed with Mr. Todd when he came to give us the estimate. He explained everything in detail and showed us samples of all the materials he uses and the different types of doors to choose from. He spent a lot of time answering our questions, and was very knowledgeable and professional. We were pleased with the quality of his product. He was very prompt in returning our calls and came on time to do the job. We love our new door and would definitely use Mr. Todd again!

Mr. Todd was patient, prompt and came exactly when promised. He spent a few hours here, making sure the door was installed properly and made sure I understood the mechanism and upkeep before he left.
