A-1 Carpet & Tile

I'd highly recommend using A-1 Carpet and Tile. Mohammed was very professional, and was very knowledgeable about the products he carries. My new carpet looks and feels great, and I am a very satisfied customer.

The carpet installation was done with no complaints. The tile job initially showed some cracking; however, A-1 sent one of their staff the same day to remedy the issue. We had a disagreement regarding the expectations on the vinyl flooring. I expected they would have pulled up the old flooring and inspected the subflooring. They intended to simply vinyl over the old linoleum. When I noted my concern about possible issues with the subflooring, they agreed in writing to redo their work free of charge if the inspectors noted issues with the subflooring when sold.

We visited the showroom on Feb. 13th and met Mohammed. He helped us select the right carpet for our house, with 3 dogs and 2 cats, selecting a durable and stain resistant carpet was important. Mohammed provided an estimate based on the infomation we provided regarding square footage. He came out to our house the SAME DAY and performed final measurements and reviewed the installation plans in detail with us. Carpet was installed 1 week from time of order. Installers were efficient, displayed exceptional workmanship, and cleaned up after themselves! All furniture was put back in it's place and the carpeting looks wonderful! I would strongly suggest using A1 Carpet and Tile for your flooring needs!

Owner Mohammed Takali was very helpful in our selection process, offering pros and cons of hardwood flooring and laminates, environmental impacts of various brands, and care. We didn't have time constraints, and the time from selecting the flooring to installation was 2 weeks. Romulo and Andra did the work. They arrived 5 minutes early, took maybe 15 minutes for lunch, and worked steadily until 5:00. Ask for them by name!

It was very smooth process, we met Mohammed at the store and after picking out a few tiles, he brought them over to our house to make the decision in situ. He was very patient when we were selecting our tile, as we are pretty picky and spent a lot of time choosing what we wanted. The tile installers were very good, they actually did better cuts than the home builder (a very large company) who had installed the old tile. The installers were very courteous and cleaned up before they left at the end of each day. We were very happy with the whole process and would definitely contact A-1 Carpet & Tile for any other home flooring, or tile projects.

We had a wonderful customer experience dealing with A-1 Carpet and Tile. Mohammed Takali, the proprietor, is a consummate professional and gentleman. Showroom selection was pretty good and the carpet we ordered arrived as scheduled. A-1's installers were also excellent - very thorough and detail-oriented, which is the most you can ask for. Mr. Takali followed up with a courtesy call to ensure we were 100 percent pleased with the job. I'm pleased to share that we were. We highly recommend purchasing carpet from A-1.

This was a pleasant experience. We were determined that we would go with a local independent dealer. Mohammed was wonderful to work with, just as the comments on Angie's List stated. Mohammed convinced me that since the bedroom was not a high traffic area, that I had the option of a mid-grade carpet at reasonable prices. Delivery and installation was quick. The installers were prompt, efficient and did a great job. We are more than pleased. The carpet has a great feel and looks well in the room. This is a great company and one that I would recommend.

Owner did a wonderful job at his store of helping me select an appropriate inexpensive carpet that met our needs exactly. His crew were polite, professional, fast and the installation was perfect.

I was probably a terrible client for Mohammed, the owner of the company, because I needed the floors done very quickly and I was amazed by the service he provided. He brought samples to my home the same day I called, ordered the wood the next day and it arrived in a few days. The wood was brought to my house for acclimation and then a few days later, the job began. Mohammed uses excellent installers, and after they had started the job they decided they didn't like the way the wood was fitting together. I looked at it and agreed. The wood company rep and Mohammed came over and it was agreed there were problems with the product, so they pulled it out and hauled it off. Mohammed brought over samples from other companies and I chose one that was higher quality. I was amazed that Mohammed didn't charge me more for it. He was really sincerely interested in making sure I was happy with the job. He ordered new wood from a supplier who could get it to him the following day; it acclimated in the house for a few days and then they installed it. The installation took two days and I couldn't be happier with the result. The workers were really careful and respectful towards my furniture and pesky dogs. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with this company, and I have to add that a few years ago I had a hallway installed by another A rated Angie's list flooring company, and was NOT satisfied with their work, and even suspected them of taking advantage of me with the price because I am a single woman (something that happens regularly with household workers, I have found.) I really felt that both Mohammed and the installers were supportive when I wanted to change products and that made me trust them completely. When I do have more floors done, I'll hire them again, gladly.

This is the third time I've used A-1, and I was once again pleased with the results. Mohammed is very attentive to his customers, and wants to make sure they are very happy with the work. He's very honest and fair when it comes to pricing, and even suggests ways to cut costs. The tile looks great, and I would reccommend him to anyone looking for flooring or tile work.

Mohammed showed us a variety of different tile options in his showroom on South Blvd. then brought the selection out to our house so that we could see how it would look in the bathroom. His guys did a great job on the bathroom and we're very happy. It took a little longer than expected, but that was mostly due to them being very conscience of the details, which I appreciate. He and his crew gave us several good suggestions that turned out great. I would recommend him to anyone.

My wife and I went to Mohammed 's showroom on South Blvd. to take a look at what flooring products he offered for our child's playroom, which is our bonus room over the garage. Mohamed showed us what he had, but also came out to our house with samples to let us see how they looked in the room and the light. He also gave us some good ideas on how to transition the new flooring to our staircase carpet. His installation guys came back in a couple of weeks and removed our existing carpet and put down the new flooring, which took maybe half a day or so. We had a fairly large stretch of transition to the carpet that would have taken two pieces of edging; Mohammed did not like the look of breaking it into two pieces, so he crafted a custom transition for us himself and stained it to match the flooring exactly. He wants his customers to be completely happy, and goes out of his way to make that happen. We were so pleased with his work, that we hired him to completely re-tile two of our bathrooms a few months later, and he did a great job on that too. I would recommend him without hesitation.

His price was outstanding and the work was performed on a tough deadline right on time. Two years after A-1 installed the carpet, I went back to the store to see if I could have a couple of small rolls smoothed out in the high traffic areas. Muhammed had his crew there when I requested. They showed up on time, did the job and did not charge me a thing. Outstanding! I bought my house and needed new carpeting throughout, and I wanted the work done before the movers unloaded all the boxes. Muhammad and his crew worked with that deadline and did great work on a large home. The crew was polite and worked extremely hard.

The project did not start on the initial date that we agreed on because the installer had to go out of town for a personal reason. They arrived on time and started the project on Thursday morning. The guys were very professional and friendly. However, only one of them spoke English. They laid the tiles on Thursday and came back the next day to grout. They were a little late arriving so I called the business phone to try to locate them. Mohammed returned my call immediately to followup. A few minutes later, the installer called to explain that he was running late due to a personal issue but was on the way. They arrived a little later and went straight to work after appologizing for being late. They replaced all of the shoe molding as some of it was damaged, no fault of thiers. This was a plus as I did not expect them to replace all of it and was not sure if they would be able to find some in the same color as the old molding but they were able to. I had to leave before they completed the job because I was running late for work. My daughter stayed at the house so that they could complete the work. I was really pleased with my new floor when I returned home from work that evening. They did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend them to other customers. Thanks again guys for a job well done.

Mohammed was professional and friendly from the start. He brought samples of laminate and tile for us to choose from. He was open with his pricing calculations. On all occasions, contractors either showed up on time, or I was called about any delays. Laminate flooring with trim in living room was completed in one day. Porcelain tile in kitchen and bath took one full day and two half days. Total job spanned 4 days. Mohammed and crew were responsive to minor changes in job and minor corrections. Crew moved appliances and furniture and replaced them with exception of dishwasher, toilet, and pedestal sink - I moved those myself. I sealed the tile grout myself after job was completed. New floors look great!

After listening to my circumstances (kids/pets location of the carpet) Mohammed steered me to a specific carpet that he said he has in his own home. After having the carpet in my home for several months I completely agree that it was the best choice. It has worn well and cleans up easily.

Muhammad was extremely helpful in pricing the product and the installation. He searched out a specific brand and model of carpeting for us and had a materials price back in one day. He measured the room within the week and had a complete quote that day. He special ordered the carpet, and had it installed within two days of materials arrival. His crew was prompt, neat, and professional. The job looks great! True hassle-free experience. Please consider A-1 for your flooring needs.

Three installers came on the appointed date & worked diligently and efficiently for a full day. They cleaned up after themselves, replaced furniture, etc. When called about minor problems, company responded in timely manner and made necessary corrections.

All the work was absolutely excellent. The job was done fast but no corners were cut. This company is great! I wish all companies were this easy and great to work with.

Mohammed, the owner of the company spent a lot of time with my wife and me. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy. He later came out to our home to measure and fine tune his price. His installers came on time and worked 13 hours. Very clean, polite crew. This has been a wonderful experience and we will do business with A-1 again.

Things went well from start to finish. Mohammed was very helpful during the tile selection process and he arranged for installation within 2 days after selecting the tile. The entire job (both locations) were completed within 1 week of tile selection. His team was very friendly and professional. The bathrooms look great.

The work was performed very quickly and neatly. They were in and out in a day and a half. So far, it looks like they did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them to someone looking for a reasonably priced tile installation. Also, Mohammed was very good about returning calls and keeping appointments. Many of the larger tile installers in Charlotte would not even return phone calls requesting an estimate.
