Refrigerator went out while I was away. I had used Bud almost 30 years ago. Husband called him and he came immediately . Did something--I dont know what . Told my husband it was going again but he would order a part just in case. Called the next morning to check with husband. Refrigerator was still working. A week or so later another visit to check. Workman had the part Looked at fridge, said it did not need the part and that it could be returned.He asssured me there was a ninety day warranty and to call if needed. Veery very pleased!

Arrived promptly. Fixed the broken AC. Very professional. Provided options for maintenance contract. No complaints at all.

It went well. They were prompt and did the job quickly. Mathews offers a range of services so that you can get more than a single problem death with through the same vendor.

Technician arrived on time and diagnosed the problem with our older but excellent cooktop. He didn't have the parts but ordered them and came back another day to complete the job. Bonus: He was kind to our dog, a big dog who can be forbidding.

Our air conditioning quit and the house was near 90 on Saturday; Bud came by the very next day after church and said he would put in a used AC fan motor until we decided on the next steps to be taken. Since we were now comfortable, Bud gave us several options and we decided to go with an new HVAC (American Std built by Trane) since our current unit was 15 yrs old and essentially worn out, besides being inefficient. Hook up was completed in one day by very proficient technicians, Jose and Robert, with excellent sheet metal interfacing. Our duct work was checked for leaks and proper thermostat operation with temp checks via interior registers. Installation included a new HVAC pad and even the bush next to the unit was neatly trimmed back! The HVAC is one of the most expensive home concerns and it needs to be done by folks that have the experience to install it properly - Bud Matthews Service meets all the needed criteria. We will continue seeking his services and advice for our home.

The serviceman came to meet with my husband and said parts would be about 100 bucks. He said they would call back when the parts were in. They did, and asked when I wanted the work done. I set a time, but when I spoke with my husband no estimate had been given at the time of the first visit. I called to get an estimate and was told a lump sum over the phone; so I had to call back and ask for a written estimate to be emailed to me. This was my biggest issue; a written estimate in my opinion should be done upfront or at least soon after the first visit. There was no service call charged at the first visit but both were charged (for the first visit to see the work and second to do the work) for the total bill, which came to 450.00. This seems like a lot to me, but the work was done thoroughly, politely and quickly. I would try them again. They seem to do many things, which is good to know. But i am curious about the price. We don't have any special equipment: kitchen aid, kenmore stuff, so I was surprised. But I haven't had a repairman work on appliances in a long time. UPDATE: The gasket is completely loose only two weeks after the first repair. I called last night, and called again when I had not heard back from them by 9:30 in the morning. They explained that they had only one serviceman working (!) and that he could not come repair the work that should have been done the first time until next Wednesday. I said this was unacceptable. I was told I would receive a call back, and as of now (three hours later) have not heard back. First of all, who only has one serviceman? I would expect that unfinished or unacceptable work would be addressed before new work. Will not use again, and will update when and if the work is finished.

Ordered the part and installed it in a timely manner. Very reasonable and punctual. Will do business with them again for any future repair needs.

We've used Bud Mathews several times over the past few years. They've repaired my Maytag washer, dryer, and refrigerator ice maker. All the technicians are wonderful. They're knowledgeable, courteous, and punctual. Terry most recently repaired the dryer and he was wonderful!! We LOVE the work these folks do.

So far so good. Ask me in six months.

We have used them several times. They have been really good and we are very happy them. They have been very fair on pricing. The repairmen are very professional, prompt, and courteous. They have been accurate in resolving our issues. The scheduling has been reasonable.

WELL! Paul was my technician and adjusted the temp control in the refrig after checking with external thermometer that it was too cold. Temperature is holding now and food is not freezing. He told me he could put in a new sensor but to see how adjustment worked first. Adjustment worked and saved me $ by not having to put in a new sensor.

The interaction wasn't always pleasant, and I would say it was partly my fault, but we got the job done. We were getting ready to close on the sale, and the heater died. They did the job in a timely way.

They are always good. I like their promptness. They are new and I've read that they are kind of pricey but I think they are reasonable.

We had a repair done to a refrigerator which took multiple visits to resolve due to the scope of work required. Bud's team stuck with it and handled the process very professionally and fairly. This truly was a test of professionalism as Terry, the technician, came out 4-5 times to test and resolve issues that came up. The outcome was that the refrigerator is working perfectly and we were fiarly charged for labor and trip fees were waived. It was a unique situation but one that tests the professionalism of a vendor and Bud's team performed brilliantly.

Fixed problem that had stumped another technician

Top quality all the way. Pat came out promptly to evaluate the vibrations in our system and was back two days later to replace the blower motor. System is 20 years old so it was well worn. Price came in well under the estimate. Everything was done as scheduled with wonderful service. I use Bud Matthews repeatedly and always receive the same high level of service. Labor charges always look high on the bill but that includes trucks, tools and admin as well as the labor of the technician. In all, very fairly priced.

The process was seamless. We did have to wait a week before they could get to us, but they showed up on time, evaluated the unit. They had to order the part, but it only took a few days and they scheduled a quick follow up as soon as it arrived. The part was installed and the unit now works perfectly!

In this case, my gas furnace would not light. It is located on the far side of the crawl space (a very narrow crawl space). When I spoke with the woman in the office she asked me if I knew the make or model number of the furnace. I did not, and with it's location I could not check it. She said that was no problem, just that it might be needed to be sure they had the right parts ready when they came out to work on it. The technician arrived at the expected time, put on his coveralls and shimmied his way to the furnace. He quickly found the issue and tried a universal replacement part to no avail due to the configuration of it. He returned to his vehicle, called the parts store and arranged to pick up the specific part needed for this furnace. When he returned, he went about finishing the work, with no need of my participation. Once he verified that the furnace was lighting, he shimmied back out, bringing everything he brought in with him (except, of course, the now installed part). During the whole process, he was highly professional and courteous. When he gave me the bill he also reminded me that they have a 90 day 'trip fee' guarantee, and therefore if there was any reason that they had to come back out for the same issue I would not be charged the trip fee. I know I gave them really high marks for this one experience, but I have used them many times over the years, and my Mom before me. I HATE having repair people in my home, always makes me uncomfortable, but such has never been the case with this company! They are always friendly, courteous, and professional from start to finish! They will tell you the expected up front and if there is any reason that they might change (such as the time to run to Durham to get the specific part needed because they did not know the model number in the beginning), they will let you know , in detail why, along the way. I never hesitate to call them.

1) Ice maker and door gasket repair on refrigerator: went well. |2) HVAC winter checkout, repair of exhaust flue. Bud Matthews repair team identified and repaired a potentially dangerous flaw in the original installation of our heating system (that had been missed by our home inspection and a subsequent duct cleaning). Workers were quick and efficient, and Bud met with us about potential problems we may have down the road.

These guys were fantastic! They came by and determined they would need a part to complete the job. They did not charge me a service call to determine this. They were very proactive and the job was completed quickly. I would definitely recommend!

Called them last Monday about a gas dryer that had quit working. He told me that they had been really busy and it might be the end of the week or the beginning of next week before they could get to it. I might have called someone else, but figured they had such good reviews on Angie's List that I could wait. I told him that I could be here whenever he needed me to be, I would just have to arrange time off of work. He then suggested that they could be here between 5 and 7 PM on Friday. That would work out such that I would need to just leave work early by an hour or so. Apparently, the repairman called my cell phone Friday morning but I missed the call. He was calling to tell me that they'd had a cancellation and they could come right then (that was 9 AM). I got home about 4 and found a partial message on my home phone that stopped mid sentence. That was when I realized I had voice mail on my cell. So, I called the company and got the same man I'd spoken to on Monday. He told me that everything had exploded and their schedule was just shot to h***. He told me it didn't look like they were going to make it to my house. But then he said that while they don't normally work on dryers on weekends, given the circumstances, they would come on Saturday. I understand that things happen. Wish I'd known earlier, but okay. Asked when they might be there on Saturday. He said he didn't know and tried to call the actual repairman but couldn't reach him. I told him I had some errands to run on Saturday, but that I would forgo all but one absolutely necessary one. He told me that the repairman would call me thirty minutes before he'd be at my house but he couldn't tell me more than that about the time. So, ran my one errand and hurried home so I wouldn't inconvenience the repairman. No repairman. No phone call. Nothing. Sat here waiting all day and they didn't even have the decency to call. It's bad enough that I was treated this way, but now I've waited a week and have to start over trying to find someone.

They provided excellent service. Their price was fine. I don't really have much to compare them to. I would absolutely use them again in the future. I have got them coming by in a week.

He showed me how the transmission was not working correctly and estimated the cost of repair to be an additional $350.

The repair required little effort on my part, was scheduled quickly and at a convenient time. The repair man was polite, professional and worked efficiently.

Very good service. Arrived when he said he would and took his time evaluating the problem. They ordered and installed the replacement part in a timely fashion. I would use this contractor again.
