BNA Enterprises is a family-owned, full service electrical contracting company. We specialize in all types of electrical jobs (large or small). Our business began in 1996 and we are very proud to say we still service some of our original customers. BNA offers free estimates. We noticed that some of the electrical outlets in our house were not working, but none of the circuit breakers were off. BNA came over and found the problem fairly quickly. A GFI outlet in the garage had flipped and we never even knew it was there. Thanks BNA!

The scheduling was timely with the contractors wife. Lesely arrived right on time and fixed the problem within about 30 minutes. Was professional and curteous. They sent a thank you note for our business a few days later. As close to perfect as it gets!

It went very well. The technician talked through the issues and was very knowledgable. He fixed the problem. He ended up not having to replace anything. He told me to call if I have problems and I haven't needed to.

They were prompt and cordial, and contacted me to set up the appointment. They determined that the outlet wasn't the problem and discovered it was a bad timer. I requested an estimate for installing two outdoor electric outlets that are opposite of the interior outlets already in place with an estimate of $330 for labor and $120 for materials. Which seems quite high, so I've decided to not proceed with work with them.

You did purchase a coupon for a "special" price of $69...that is not our usual hourly rate. We also offered to deduct the original $60 you paid since diagnosing the problem did not take the full hour. Hopefully now you understand the reasoning behind the costs and time associated with this project. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review!

I contacted them nine days before the agreed upon date for service and spoke with the office person, Suzanne, and the electrician, Leslie. Both said that the appointment for August 8th would be just fine and Leslie told me to expect him between 8:00 and 9:00 am. I called the office at 10:00 and got the answering machine then called Leslie's cell immediately after to ask if I was still on the schedule. I left a message on his cell and he called me back about 45 minutes later and said there were two problems; 1) he did not have me on the schedule and 2) he apparently had an allergic reaction to something and was getting some medicine. I reiterated that I had taken the day of for this and expressed my disappointment. He called me back a few minutes later and said that he wanted to see if the medicine helped and asked if he could call me at noon to let me know if he could make it out around 5pm. He called at noon and said he was doing better and anticipated being able to get to my home around 4pm. At 3pm he called and said that he would not be able to make it because he was having some difficulties on a job he was at.

Excellent experience provided by BNA Enterprises in all respects! Suzanne responded by email to my inquiry about an appointment for repair or replacement of a light fixture and we soon settled on a day and time. She let me know Leslie would call when he was on the way to my location. Leslie (Owner of BNA Enterprises) called about 30min prior to appointment time to let me know he was on the way. Upon arrival he checked out the light fixture that was not working correctly. The fixture had two lights on a strip in a dressing area; one light was working as expected. The 2nd light socket had begun to hum, buzz and blow bulbs. After the second bulb was blown the socket would no longer make a good bulb come on. Leslie pointed out the defective socket for the bulb was made with improper space between one lead and ground and that socket could be rebuilt; however, I had already purchased a replacement fixture. Leslie proceeded to replace the fixture and completed the change out in 15 or 20minutes. (Now we have excellent light!) A 2nd problem occurred the previous night resulting from an electrical storm...lightning struck very close to my house and my CableTV and computer went out. The CableTV came back when the cable company visited the area during the night but the computer equipment was still out. Leslie quickly determined the electrical supply to the house was OK and the problem was with the circuit for the AC supply to the computer equipment. Leslie quickly identified a plug-in strip that was not working and problem was resolved. Total time for 2nd item was maybe 15minutes max - trouble was found in a very professionall manner ! (The defective strip had a built-in breaker and after the strip was disconnected from the AC power plus had no devices plugged in, that strip's breaker could be reset and I'm still using the strip to power my computer. The equipment was protected by the strip's breaker as designed.)

BNA was very responsive- got back to me immediately after my leaving a message--came before noon and had the outlet fixed withing 40 minutes. He also went above and beyond by plugging in my sump pump to see if it worked. Great service, very professional and polite.

I gave them a B on responsiveness because my husband had to call a second time to set up an appointment when they were supposed to call us back. I think they may be somewhat overwhelmed by volume from Big Deal. BUT, once they came, they werr excellent!!! The electrician fixed our light (he had to replace ballast and all), was prompt, courteous, informative -- no complaints.
Description of Work: BNA replaced a nonworking flourescent light fixture in the pantry for us.

Owner was very quick to call on May 7th to find out what work was required. At the end of the call I was told someone would call soon to schedule the work. I was even told what hardware I needed to purchase for them to use when they arrive (which I did). Two weeks went by with no call. I called again and this time did not receive a call back. (Possible that call was just missed?) I called again a couple of weeks later, received another prompt call from owner apologizing, indicating that there was a family emergency but he promised that when he got home that night he would call and schedule the work. No call received that evening or in the 10 days since. I do understand that running a family business can be challenging but that is not an excuse for leaving a "potential" customer hanging. They need to understand that their customers are busy too which is why we called them in the first place. I shouldn't be required to chase them. Two months later, the work I needed to have done still isn't done and now I need to hunt down someone else to do the work. If you are too busy (nice problem to have) let me know so that I can make other arrangements. In two months one would have thought that my request would have made it somewhere near the top of BNA's list. Since it didn't the only thing I can think of is that it wasn't going to be as profitable as other jobs that they have gotten since so they chose to forget about me. Hopefully I will have better experience with their competition.

He did not return our call for several days. He did finally call back and left a message. We returned his call and he said he was cancelling the order. We are truly hate when anyone is disappointed w/BNA and strive everyday to please all our customers.

We did speak w/[member name removed] today. At that time, he informed us that we had not responded to his email sent this past Saturday(when we were closed). However, we did not receive an email from him. When I spoke w/him today, he did not mention any voicemail, and we did not have that either. When [member name removed] called, he asked if we were NOT interested in working. It was explained to him that we did not have any correspondence from him. If we had received an email we would have emailed back. For him to say that we didn't want to be "bothered" is completely false. We work very hard everyday and as a small family owned business, each customer is VERY important to us. We have been self-employed for 17+ years, and could not have made it if we had such a nonchalant attitude. I do not feel that we can be penalized if we did not receive communication. I tried to explain to [member name removed], but he cut me off and would not listen. He simply stated that he called today just to let us know he was giving us a negative review. We take it very seriously when anyone is dissatisfied w/BNA, but again we cannot assist a customer that we do not know about.

Scheduling was easy. Leslie, the owner/operator, explained what I needed to purchase prior to the installation (dimmer switch). He arrived on time and was professional, friendly, efficient and neat. We discussed the drop length of the chandlier, and he was very helpful with that decision. He helped me move the fan to the storage space. He made sure that I was totally satisfied with the installation before he left.

Due to the short phone conversation, I figured if they are that annoyed and unprofessional about answering their calls, they probably are not the best people I would want working on my house.
Description of Work: Tried to contact BNA to ask about their services, and when calling the number found on their website the person who answered said "Who is this?" I confirmed it was BNA and a company, and not an individual. The man said it was BNA, and then asked about "Who is this?" I stated I was a potential customer, and he said "What do you want?" and I seemed to be annoying him by calling.

Customer did call and speak with BNA. However, when asked customer would not identify himself. We were trying to qualify customer and find out exactly what he needed. Also, we contract for a big box store and were trying to determine if it was through the store or through Angie's List. Customer seemed to get irritated when he asked if we service Greensboro. When we stated that we mainly service Raleigh, he said "Fine...you don't come over this way" and abruptly hung up. We make our living by providing electrical service to customers, so it is unfair to say that we are "annoyed or unprofessional." Most customers who want legitimate work will identify themselves and answer relevant questions when asked. Sorry you didn't feel comfortable in sharing general information so we could be of assistance to you.

Company did not show up or reach out to me for my Big Deal purchase. I called 3 times and I have not heard back. . However, I did not expect the company to just show up without an appointment, but expected them to return my calls following an initial conversation with the scheduler. It appeared that the only time he could come out was when he was "in my area" and stated he would do an initial review of what I really needed.. The process is for after the initial electrical review being purchased by the big deal, the company will schedule the work to be done. But the individual did not return my call after I reached out two additional times to schedule the electrician.
