Went really well. Leslie was great when he was on site. Company did rely (my opinion) too much on Anglie's List messaging when I indicated that I preferred cell phone. We missed my initial date because I don't really check the AL messages. But we connected and got it done.
Description of Work: Install new exterior outlet onto an outlet that was not working properly. Reconnected bathroom socket that was working on and off.

It was a good experience and we were very happy with it. They came by and gave us a good quote. They were very professional and prompt. We were pleased that there weren'tany hidden charges.
Description of Work: I have purchased a Big Deal for BNA Enterprises. We had a problem with some electrical wiring outside our yard and we were not sure what the problem was. They came and identified the problem and gave us some advice on how to fix it and told us what it would cost to fix it.

Okay, they came originally but were unable to contact us back to complete the work for installing some dimmer switches. Nice people but ceased to further contact us after several attempts to reconnect on completion.

As above an extremely honest and ethical contractor who we will use again in the future and recommend to friends. They did not even charge for this visit and will honor our Angie's List coupon for the next year toward another job. That is exceptional. Am sending their name to a friend today with a strong recommendation.

I had a bad 3 way switch repaired and I tried to have my closet light repaired but it wasn't the switch, evidently the fixture went bad even though it was only a few years old. Will call again when I buy a new fixture. The service from BNA was professional and I will use them again.

The owner came. performed the service and finished promptly within the hour I paid for. He was fast , efficient ,and the job was done well. They are a nice small business to deal with and even sent us a holiday card! We will be using BNA for our electrical needs!

I contacted BNA (and many others) to have a ceiling fan removed from a very high ceiling and replaced with a chandelier. They responded quickly and let me know of a deal they had on Angie's list that would save me money. I purchased the deal that evening and was contacted the next morning to set up the appointment. BNA is very professional, arrived on time and left the job site clean. I have already contacted them about additional work. Highly recommend.

I was going to purchase the Big Deal they were advertising entitled "$69 for an Electrical Service Call + 1 Hour of Labor!" I called BNA before making the purchase and spoke to Leslie, his wife, just to verify the work I needed would be covered under the deal. She had me call him and he informed me that the work I needed would require more than one hour of labor and advised me against purchasing the deal for that reason. SO, I did NOT purchase the Big Deal.When he came out he was there for 20 minutes and all he did was screw in the electrical boxes and stapled cabling up. He didn't wire the actual receptacles. I waited for him to say "It didn't take as long as I thought..." but he didn't. When I mentioned it, he immediately became defensive and rude telling me he never told me it would take more than hour labor and not to purchase the deal. He also told me the deal didn't include labor but the deal clearly states that it does. He didn't even finish the job and charged me $150 for 20 minutes! As he was leaving, he told me that his wife probably wouldn't take the check, that she would send it back. So, we waited before complaining to see if the check came back. They didn't send the check back, he cashed it.
Description of Work: All he did was screw in the electrical boxes and stapled cabling up. My fiance still has to wire them.

In response to the review, we will clarify what happened. The customer called on the 5th (Thursday) requesting service. We immediately called her back. She needed some receptacles roughed before her sheetrock could go in. Leslie called her to discuss the job and he explained to her that the coupon was for a "service" call, and not applicable to this type of job. A service call is to diagnose a problem and correct it...not new construction. At any rate WE ALL AGREED that the cost for the job would be $150. She said that her original electrician's wife became ill and he wouldn't be able to do it. After she and Leslie AGREED on the cost, we called her back to schedule. At the time she requested service, she did not say there was an urgent need. However, when the office called to schedule her, she informed us that it needed to be done the VERY NEXT DAY as her brother was going to sheetrock on Saturday. She also failed to mention that she was down in Holly Springs. At any rate, Leslie was completely booked on Friday, but we told her that he could fit her in (after he finished his day) and would be there between 5-7p. So, his last job was in NORTH RALEIGH and after he finished, he made the trek down to Holly Springs. When he got there, he started working per request. He did the job as they had discussed on the phone. When he was finished, he was waiting for payment. This is when the customer became very belligerent and said she should have purchased the coupon. Again, Leslie explained that the coupon would not apply and that to do the JOB, they agreed on $150. The length of the job was irrelevant, but again it did not fall under a service call. When the cost of a job is agreed upon, we expect that the customer is prepared to pay that amount and there shouldn't be a question. It is not customary for a customer to change their mind AFTER the work has been completed and decide they don't like the cost of the job. Also, Leslie performed the work that was asked of him. I'm not sure what the customer is referring to about her fiance' doing the work. At any rate, when it was time to settle-up, the customer again became irate. She did not consider that: 1. He completed the work per the request. 2. It was late on a Friday night and we worked her in immediately. 3. The cost was AGREED upon PRIOR to the work beginning. She continued to complain until finally Leslie told the fiance' to just pay him $120. The fiance' wrote the check and the customer went back in the house. Leslie does not like conflict when doing a job for a customer, so he tried to settle it. The customer came back out, and he told her that really it was not worth all the controversy. He gave her a great job, but he couldn't stand there and argue all night. He needed to get home all the way back to Chapel Hill, and couldn't continue the discussion. Also, her tone was escalating, so the fiance' sent her back in the house. Again, he wrote the check for LESS than agreed upon, but Leslie just wanted to be finished with it. We're not sure about the sending back of the check, but since the work was completed, the check was deposited. Although it was LESS than agreed upon, we still needed to be compensated for the work that was done. We DO NOT LIKE ANYONE to displeased with our company. However, you cannot decide that the agreed upon cost is not appropriate AFTER the work has been done. Have you told your dentist that AFTER your teeth have been cleaned that he charged TOO MUCH for that service. He is the PROFESSIONAL and by agreeing to the service, you have agreed to the fee. We have nearly 100 reviews and 95% of them are "A's." Again, we do not like anyone to be dissatisfied with our company. However, it is impossible to please everyone. We believe in full disclosure and agree to costs PRIOR to commencement of work. Over the 17 years we have been in business, we have certainly lost money on jobs. However, we have never gone back once and charged a customer more than quoted. If we quote too low, that is our loss. But, at the same time, when the cost is AGREED upon, we expect that the customer honor the agreement. In summary, we did complete the job per request, and the job was done very satisfactorily. It is unfortunate, but we do not feel the customer could have been satisfied, and we are sorry for that fact. The rough-in was performed per request. The agreement was for rough –in not final wire. That has to be done after the sheetrock goes in, not before. The price was agreed on and then she reniged. Our hourly rate is $120-that is why we accepted $120 instead of $150. IF there are problems w/the outlet/light, the finish electrician needs to be contacted, not us – we did the rough in. Please see our previous reply for additional information. We are not willing to pay anything as we owe the customer for nothing. We do not feel there is anything left to do or say that would satisfy the customer. We will be more than happy to have a 3-way meeting with the electrical inspector to verify our portion of the work. If the customer would like to do that we will be glad to. However, we are not going to compensate any other company for their work for this customer.

The electrical outlets in my kitchen suddenly stopped working. I contacted Leslie and explained my situation to him. He told me I probably needed to reset the electrical outlets in my kitchen and told me how to do it myself...which was as easy as pushing a button. He saved me the cost of a service call which I truly appreciate. If I need an electrician in the future I will definitely use him.

These folks are the best. We received a thank you card from their office before the service. The electrician was extremely efficient and provided us with excellent service. We will definitely use them again and have already referred a family member to them.

It went great! He came out and took a good look, then quoted us a cost for replacing the breakers (rather than the entire panel) as he didn't feel that the damage was extensive enough to require a new panel box. This saved us a lot of money. He came back once picking up the supplies and completed the work very quickly. We were very pleased, and will use him again in the future for electrical work.

Terrible. Did not fix anything except to fix a supposedly a loose connection. The same problems remain, which is cannot use a vacuum cleaner in any of the outlets in the living room, or dinning room. Cannot use a computer and a monitor in the living room! Poor service.

I did fix problem. There was a loose wire in outlet that customer said another electrician had looked at. When I restored power to said outlet, all outlets were working. We even tried customers vacuum in outlet and it worked in his presence. Customer was not very friendly and questioned my experience several times. He said he had had others there to work on the problem and had gotten refunds from them. He even said one guy gave him refund on the spot. When I left the outlets were working fine. He called office and said he wanted someone to come back and to call him. When he finally answered he said he was busy and for me to call back. After several more attempts, I made contact with him and he said he was not sure if outlets worked or not and did not want to let me come to see. We will not issue refund as work was completed at time of visit and customer refused to let us come back. Customer seems to have a pattern of this kind of issues with professionals.
