John is a fully licensed Electrician and carries both a H2 & H3 license and is certified in Geo Thermal installations. We currently employ over 22 highly trained and trustworthy employees. Description of Work: These guys would have gotten full A+ except they ended up mis-diagnosing a problem with my system which is why I dinged them on quality. They were initially trying to push me towards replacing one part on my outdoor unit. I had them hold off and when the issues I had observed started happening 30 minutes later they came back to the house and diagnosed it as another problem. I got a second opinion and neither of the issues identified were the root cause and had I taken their advice I would have spent a lot of unnecessary money. | |Having said all that I think my situation was probably slightly unique and I wouldn't expect they'd make similar mistakes with other systems which is why I still give them a B overall. | |

We responded to a request for service on June 17th at 10:30 am. The tech was told by Mr. [Member name removed] that his outdoor fan motor was stopping intermittingly, he also stated the fan motor and capacitor was replaced by someone prior to our visit. Our Service Dept manager even called the manufacturer to verify the right size motor was installed. Our technician was at Mr. [Member name removed]’s home for 1 hr. and 28 min and did not witness what Mr. [Member name removed] described. Our technician checked Freon levels and capacitors that run the outdoor fan and compressor. The tech found no problems and DID NOT suggest or price any repairs. The tech left at 11:58 to go to his next call. Mr. [Member name removed] called and said the unit was acting up again. Our tech returned to Mr. [Member name removed] home and found the compressor stopping because of a thermal over load. (Over heating). The tech found no apparent reason for this to occur. Mr. [Member name removed] stated his unit was 10 yrs. old and he wanted to replace it. Our company responded to a request for an estimate to replace the heat pump. The owner of Carteret Heating met with Mr. [Member name removed] for about 1 hr. measuring windows and walls and insulation values to calculate the heat and ac loads. The air conditioner did not show any symptom’s that Mr. [Member name removed] described while the owner was there. The owner spent 2 hrs. preparing an estimate and load calculation. We found Mr. [Member name removed]’s system was undersized for his home. We provided this information FREE of charge with no obligations. We never quoted a repair to Mr. [Member name removed], he told us he was not interested in repairing his system. We are confused by his grade on our quality as we sold him NO products. We only provided what the homeowner requested. We did visit his home 3 times. Our compensation for 5 ½ hours labor was $41.30.

Description of Work: Sealed and cleaned our ductwork; tacked up insulation under our home that had fallen; strapped up a fallen branch duct; straightened ground cover; cleaned air handlers; sealed around each vent; replaced all vents that needed replacing; replaced air return grills and installed two new thermostats. They also put in a new access door under our home. They did an excellent job and within 1/2 hour of the workers leaving John Sr. arrived and checked behind all they did. Can't say enough good about the experience. Great job, professional and quality service.

Description of Work: Professional job. I thought 95.00 for service call was a little much as was 60.00 per pound for refrigerate,however; guess that's the norm for carteret county.

Description of Work: The above price includes an annual maintenance contract for our 3700 square foot home, with two systems, and the below noted items: | |Carteret checked our newly installed water furnace HVAC system to ensure that the installer, with whom we no longer have a relationship, installed the system properly and corrected any shortcomings that they noted. | |As a separate charge, Carteret also will be installing a sealed crawl space, with dehumidifier, for us soon. | |We are very happy with Carteret. What a difference from our previous HVAC company.

Description of Work: We have purchased 2 whole house systems from Carteret Heating and Cooling in less than 10 years. Their serviceman came down when water was leaking through the ceiling and said that the condensation lines should have been insulated. We were very disappointed at the arrogant response we received when we asked for help with repairs.

Her systems were out of warranty, she had no routine maintenance performed on her equipment. We made 2 trips to her property after she called ( At no charge). 1st our Service Technician went and saw no issue.Then our Service Department Mgr. and the Owner of our company went to the homeowner;s property .After an on-site inspection we found there was no water leaking from our lines or equipment, and the ceiling stain was no where near our lines or equipment. We are sorry she had damage at her property but it was not caused by our equipment or installation.
