I had gotten three other bids for painting kitchen cabinets and was almost ready to forget it, since the cabinets were only six years old -- they were just two dark for the space and the dark granite countertop. For some of the bids I could have gotten the cabinets refaced. I really did want them painted, so I did a review of painters on Angies List and carefully read the reviews to find one I thought might meet my requirements of quality, price, and customer service and thought I would give it one more try. Alvaro promptly got back to me after I contacted him, and I think he came the next day to spec out the job. He explained exactly what he would do and sent me an email with the written estimate within a day or two. I contracted the work with him and it was my choice that I personally buy the paint (but I could use his discount at Sherwin Williams). I had done a lot of research on painting cabinets and wanted to use "Cabinet Coat" paint which is not a mainstream paint product but was supposed to provide a great self leveling finish. Alvaro was very agreeable to using the product, although there can often be a learning curve in using a new product/method. It is a little different than the paint he usually uses as it was thin and my cabinets were quite dark. It is a self-priming paint but there was really not as much pigment in it than a typical primer so there were a few challenges but they turned out GREAT. The base of the cabinets were painted with a foam high density roller, as well as the backs of the drawers and doors, and the first coat of the front of the doors. Then sanding and remaining coats with sprayer. Doors and drawers were done in my garage. The finish came out just as I had hoped and looks fantastic and looks pretty much like a factory finish. Promptness -- crew arrived exactly on the date we mutually agreed upon at the EXACT time scheduled. Each subsequent date was also at the exact time agreed upon -- I had never experienced such promptness. The total time frame was to be 5-6 days because of the sequence of things. (Walls done in two days.) It did go one extra day because the drying time of the doors took longer with this paint and there were several rainy very humid days. Alvaro was very concerned about this as he prides himself on completing a job no later than what has been scheduled and it very customer oriented. I totally understood and it was not a problem. Alvaro does run several crews and he is not on site the entire time and goes back and forth between jobs. Normally he was there two times per day and carefully supervises the crew, and says to call him immediately if there is any problem or questions (there was not). The crew did a very good job and works very efficiently. They are also very good about cleaning up each day. We are VERY happy with cabinets and the walls and would definitely recommend him. I did a recommendation on our neighborhood social website today and several other neighbors also chimed in that they had used H&H painting and would recommend them too.

I am seeking a refund because we could not schedule this to happen.

Mr. Hernandez and his team were extremely professional. He had been trying to do the work for a few months but our walls needed some repairing and it took a long time for us to get our work done so his team could paint. He never forgot about us and was very patient in our own delays. When I let him know we were finally done, he worked us into his schedule fairly quickly. He came with his team to understand what needed to be done. The two men worked very quietly and efficiently, getting more done than I thought they would in 4 hours. When they finished 45 minutes early, Mr. Hernandez called to make sure that there wasn't something else I needed done. I was extremely impressed. And the men went ahead and did the little bit of extra work, even though they were almost ready to leave. Fantastic service, fantastic work.

I was not home while they worked (another family member was) but the work was done promptly and to our complete satisfaction. They even cleaned out our gutters.

We could not have ask for a better experience and a better result. Mr. Hernandez is a professional that takes pride in his work, his crew reflects his high standards. From the first meeting until the work was completed we were in good hands. The work was done as promised, the crew was pleasant, very professional. Great attention was paid to the little details which in turn gave us an absolutely beautiful finished product. The house looks like a picture. Our only regret is we wish we had found H&H Painting and Remodeling years ago! We will be calling Mr. Hernandez again.

They came when scheduled and were very professional. They did a few things not in contract at no charge, although we offered to pay. All along they had an excellent attitude wanted to please.

H&H Painting and remodeling was great. He showed up on time, he was communicative. He followed up with me afterwards. His price was competitive but there was so much other work that needed to be done that he couldn't quote in there so he just didn't know.

Alvaro responded promptly to my phone call for an estimate. He showed up and explained what the job entailed. He was courteous and professional. The job was completed within five days. After power washing the porch they returned to caulk and prep. They continually checked with me to make sure I was pleased with the job. Alvaro said he wanted the job to be perfectly done and it was. I would most definitely use them again!

It was a wonderful experience dealing with Mr. Hernandez! Very courteous and helpful. His team was very thorough and always on time. He went above and beyond the call of duty even helping with some plumbing issues in my condo. Would definitley hire him and his team again!

Estimate was not the least expensive, but the owner was very detail oriented and I felt he was the most knowledgeable of the estimates we received. The work was very good- - end result looks GREAT, straight edges, workers cleaned up after themselves every day, worked quietly, and finished up at a reasonable time each day. The job ending up costing more than the original estimate but the addition I think was fair (included an extension of the original work to be done - two coats were needed on the decks where he had estimated only 1 to begin with). The end result was worth the extra money.

We've been extremely impressed by their quality workmanship, reasonable prices, and neatness.

Promptly came and gave written estimate. The bill was the same as the estimate. The work looks great. They were professional and extremely pleasant and obviously wanted to please me with the work they did and they did just that. Without hesitation I will have them do more work for me in the future . I could not be more pleased.

They did a great job. We spent $220 for the last job. It was a really good price. I am very happy with them. They were very neat and very skilled. They seemed to be able to do things and I was amazed that they could do such a neat job. They also cleaned up everything after they were done. They did a really good job. We had different teams of workers and they were all very nice. Alvaro, the owner seemed to be very reliable and very honest. He makes a good assessment of what things will cost. He also does a good job. I would recommend him to family members. When it comes to their punctuality, there was some sort of a delay, but he did call about it. It was fine with us and it wasn’t an issue. I originally had an issue with them. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They do our cleaning and painting and are really good. His wife comes and cleans for me every two weeks. They also do interior pressure washing and drywall. They give free estimates and are fully insured. I only deal with all A people; otherwise it is just not worth it. I will continue to use them in the future.

Pros: Alvaro came by to give us an estimate for this work. It seemed like a great price, and we were concerned it would be higher, but that did turn out to be the cost. Two of his men came to do the painting over a weekend. The work done was absolutely excellent. The four chairs, table, and glider (a patio set from Target which had seen about 12 Virginia winters out in the elements) look brand new. Cons (minor): We did have to remind the painters about pressure washing the porch before painting. (One man had started painting a post, and he was wiping the surface with a rag first.) As soon as we questioned this, they stopped painting, called Alvaro for permission, and got the pressure washer. On the first day (Saturday), they quit mid-afternoon (porch wood had to dry and paint on furniture had to dry for next coat), but didn't tell us they were leaving, and they left our side gate open. Fortunately, we noticed before letting the dog out. Overall, we are so glad we found H&H. We would recommend them to everyone, and will definitely hire them again.

Alvaro and team worked very h****** both 1st and 2nd floor of our home and removed mold via pressure wash (on softer pressure so as not to destroy the wood), water mixed with Clorox. This is quite a difficult job, even though mold in the Wilmington does not seem to grow on hardi-plank siding, just doing the wood trim took a few days. We were so happy with their work ethic, and the fact that they had the ladders and team, we had them do some exterior touch-up painting, which again, was thorough, and well-done.
