On Tops Roofing

Great overall! OnTops started the job on a Friday morning as scheduled to remove existing gutters. They proceeded to install the new gutters immediately after, even though we were under the impression that new gutters were to be installed the following Monday. Before leaving on Friday, one of the workers notified us that they would have to return on Monday to place the last piece of gutter as they didn't have enough material since the job was not necessarily going to be completed on Friday, which was fine with us. We came home from work on Monday to see that the last piece was installed as expected. When we looked around the house to look at the work that had been done, we noticed that there were new gutters where there previously were not any. In previous discussions with OnTops, we had talked about replacing only existing gutters. Seeing that there were new additions was a welcome surprise, especially since the price remained the same!

Great overall! OnTops crew started on time in the morning as scheduled and worked efficiently throughout the day. They completed all the work by shortly after lunch. They removed all trash from yard before leaving. Another worker returned later in the afternoon to remove the large trash bin from the driveway and performed a magnetic sweep to pick up loose nails from the driveway. Workers also covered all plants with large tarps for protection and to minimize damage to landscaping.

I cannot say enough good about Scott, Jonathan and Roberto! Was called back same day I made the initial call to inquire about help by the company's owner, Scott. He said that one of his associates would be in touch soon and out to my house the same week to help (even though I called on Wednesday) because he realized a hole in my roof was urgent. On the same day, soon after, I got a call from Jonathan, who said he could be to my house to inspect the damage and give me a quote within half an hour! They arrived on time w/ all the equipment necessary to fix the roof, and would have the same day, except it started raining hard. They promised they'd be back the next day and assured me the fix would come in under the low, base/minimum charge for their services in cases of repairs like mine. He said they'd be there around 10 a.m. the next day, and they were. They fixed my problem, inspected the roof for other issues, fixed a few minor issues identified, and were finished and ready to go in under an hour! The cost matched the quote. I was 100% satisfied with their promptness, professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, and qualifications. Great people make a great company! I highly recommend them! I will use them again -- anytime I need roof repairs, any of the services they offer, and when I need to replace my roof in the future.

Price: I have several companies bid on the work. ?On Tops Roofing? was second from lowest suggested price. There were other 3 companies more expensive. Manager: Chris Talton was professional and was pleasant to deal with. Work: Crew came early morning (7.00 AM) and all 10 people work very efficiently organized everybody knew what needs to be done, there was nobody standing and looking what to do. Afternoon, at 3.00 PM roof was finished. New shingles and flashing look very well sealed. All refuse was cleaned and removed same day, nails were searched around the house with magnets. During removing of the old shingles somebody accidentally damaged bathroom went. After discussion with Chris Tilton problem was corrected. No other problem was found and roof looks excellent. Conclusion: We are very satisfy with their work and would recommend anybody get quote from ?On Tops Roofing? company.

From start to finish, On Tops Roofing was very professional in their service. They provided an estimate in a timely manner and worked incredibly well with me on the scheduling of work to be done. I was having the siding replaced on my house at the same time and Chris Talton, who represented On Tops Roofing, worked with my siding contractor so that each could get their jobs done in the most efficient way possible. On Tops Roofing began at approximately 8am on the date that was set and were finished with the roof 5 hours later. They cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell they had been there except for the sign they left in my yard. They performed the small roof repair to my front entrance the following Monday which was done by a different work crew. I am extremely satisfied with the work they performed and the price paid.

First, on Tops Roofing is not inexpensive. However one gets what one pays for; in this case it is by-and-large excellent workmanship plus no advance deposit is required nor is any invoice to be paid until one is completely satisfied with the finished product. Negotiation with the owner, Scott Carroll, was highly courteous; he and his site manager (Chris Talton) visited our property on more than one occasion to discuss the arrangements and were a pleasure to work with. Their business model is rare and to be applauded. Since we paid our invoice we are obviously satisfied customers. The quality of the (architectural) shingles and installation of the two large skylights in the living room was excellent. The entire roofing operation was completed (stripping the old and installing the new) in one day! Having said that, there were a few hiccups along the way. 1) There were several instances of shoddy workmanship where portions of the flashing around the corners of the chimney were clearly not finished properly; 2) similarly parts of the woodwork in the soffit areas were left incomplete. 3) A glass tabletop on the deck was broken but the cost of replacement was credited to the invoice. To the company's credit these were promptly addressed and rectified. 4) Many stray roofing nails were left laying on the ground outside especially in the driveway which can be a lethal hazard to car tires! This was pointed out but quite frankly was not efficiently addressed; walking around with a magnet on a stick does not do the job; the proper solution is to use a metal detector similar (or the same as) that used by treasure hunters. Ultimately we had to do this ourselves by hand and eye! Other old materials and debris around the property was promptly and efficiently removed. (The window replacement - cost $800 - was completed on time and without any problems.) Finally, we would have no hesitation in recommending On Tops Roofing to others. However, as with all major building/renovation projects, it pays to keep and eye on things - in this case to everyone's satisfaction.

The job went very well. Much better than I expected. Jonathan Kennedy was our contact for the project. He was very polite and professional and kept an eye on the project throughout the process. The crews did a nice job and were efficient and friendly. They did a great job with protecting things around the house and with clean-up. Scott Carroll, owner of the company, paid us a visit around lunch to make sure we were satisfied. They are a GAF Master Elite certified contractor and provide a 15 year workmanship warranty. I got several estimates for the project. On Tops Roofing was not the least expensive, but they were a close second and well worth the small additional cost. In addition to the reviews here at Angie's List, I had a reference from a good friend as well. If you're getting your roof replaced, I would recommend you get a quote from these guys.

From the initial meeting, to a second meeting to answer questions through the follow-up on completion, nothing but high marks for On Tops Roofing. On the day of the job, the workers arrived at 7:00, materials and dumpster by 7:45 and the crew was busy removing the existing shingles before 8:00. The new roof was installed before 4:00 that afternoon, just ahead of a serious rain storm. The job foreman came by the following day - I pointed out a couple of very minor issues - repaired the next day.

I called and Jonathan came to give us an estimate. He was very efficient and professional, and he even gave us different estimates on different options. We called later to set up a date for the installation and he told us exactly what would happen. He said the day of installation they would bring a dumpster for all the trash, which they did, early that moring. Then he said the men would come and do their job all before 2 pm, and that was also done. He said all the trash would be picked up and it most certainly was. Everything was picked up and the yard was left cleaned. Also, he said the guy with the truck would come the next day and pick up the dumpster, and he did, early in the morning, like they said. But, he didn't only pick up the dumpster. As he moved it out of the way, the man actually got out of his truck and proceeded to brush our driveway with this magnetic pole to make sure there were no nails. He took his time, first going up and down, then going sideways, all the way where the dumpster was to the end of our driveway. That was very good and professional. Jonathan also told us that our warranty papers would be mailed to us within 7 to 10 days later, and within a week, we received them. I would highly recommend this company to whomever is in need of a new roof. They are very prompt, courteous, and professional.

Jonathan arrived promptly when scheduled to do the inspection. He provided very comprehensive information and was always available for multiple ongoing questions and quotes. Once the decision was made to employ On Tops, the repair was scheduled promptly. Jonathan arrived with the crew on the day of repair to give overall verification of what was expected and returned later in the day to check that everything was proceeding as expected. Eduardo and crew worked non-stop from 9 AM to 7 PM, with a small break for lunch, on this large project. They were extremely careful and cleaned up beautifully. When they drove away, except for the new roof, there was no evidence a construction crew had even been there. Jonathan returned the following day to inspect the work and verify everything had been done to our satisfaction. We now have the nicest roof in the neighborhood! I would use this company again if the need arose and highly recommend it to anyone needing a roofing service.

They arrived at 6:45 am and were extremely hard working on a large job. It was almost 100 degrees that day with a one hour storm in the afternoon. Amazingly they finished cleanup around 7:30 pm the same day. Excellent at cleaning up the job site and putting things back afterwards. Very professional from sales, project management to the actual workers. Price came in as estimated, and I was able to use the Angie List coupon. They were the lowest bid of my four estimates, but work was first rate in materials and job execution. I would highly recommend them for roofing replacement.

Overall i was very happy with the experience!

Due to a scheduling conflict, the owner (Chris) sent out a crew-member to my house to look at the work that needed to be done and to give me an estimate. The work was performed while a was away on a trip, and I came back to a house with beautiful new seamless gutters and spouts and everything looked perfect. I assumed the same was true for the repairs on the roof, as we had agreed on. Quite a while later, my eye caught a side board near the chimney that had not been fixed, even though we had agreed on this. The board can only be seen when standing on the porch bench. I called right away and once Chris and I were able to connect, he apologized for the oversight and immediately agreed to send out a crew to get the job completed. From a very satisfied client.....great customer service!!! Thank you!

I was very impressed with On Top Roofing. They were quick to respond and very professional when they came out. They were very thorough in regard to getting the right products that we wanted and giving us options. I can't say enough good things about them.

I asked friends for recommendations for a roofing company and also looked on Angie's list. OnTops Roofing was recommended both by friends and the list. They got back to me and gave an estimate the same day I called. They arrived on the day and at the time they said they would and had the roof completed before we got home in the evening. We didn't pay until after the roof was installed. They made another appt. to come and look over the roof with us before we gave them a check. The left the area clean and we had no complaints about their workmanship.We were also able to use an Angie's list coupon to bring the price of the work down. I wish all companies were this easy to work with and this professional.

I found them on Angie’s list. The representative named Jonathan was excellent. He told me what he was going to do. He explained things to me and assisted me in getting finances.

The work was completed in one day with excellent results. They returned the next morning to review the work and ensure my satisfaction.

Chris showed up promptly at 7am the day the roof was replaced. A dumpster was delivered a few minutes later and then a crew of about 10 people removed the old roof in just a couple hours. They immediately started replacing rotten boards and putting on new flashing. Cleanup was done by 2 of the workers all the time the work was being performed. The crew worked straight through lunch hour and broke for lunch only when they had the roof covered, around 4pm. When they returned they started doing the final touches on the roof and then made a full sweep of the area for nails. They finished up about 8pm. The dumpster was removed at 7am the next day. It was all very professional.

Very professional. They started when they said they would start, and finished it even earlier. Very happy with the services performed. I work in construction myself and hold contractors that do work on my house to a very high level, and On Tops Roofing met my every expectation.

I can not say enough about Chris Talton and his group. As a busy professional, I do not have time to meet with all contractors, especially for outdoor work. Chris contacted me to ask permission to go and do measurements for the quote while we were not home. He sent me the proposal via email. After comparing his price with 3 others, On Tops was in the middle. The other selling point about On Tops Roofing is that they also have a painting company that works with them closely, so coordinating the 2 projects was easy. When we decided to proceed with the work, we scheduled the work within the next week. They came one day to remove the gutters, and then the next to power wash the house. This was done on Friday so that the house was able to "dry" over the weekend. The painting occurred on Monday and was concluded by Tuesday. The painting contractor went around the house with us that Tuesday evening. They were very careful with out plants, and it was almost as if they had never been there! The roofers came on Wednesday morning, and were done with the standing seam roof that evening. Chris phoned me that evening to ensure that we were pleased with the work. He came out one week after the work was complete to do the final walk through. We were very pleased with their work, professionalism and at a fair price.

They were a personal referral and they did fine. I would recommend them.
