The supervisor wasn’t on site every day as promised. When he wasn’t there, the works didn’t take the same amount of care as they did when he was there.

It went perfectly. I chose the paints and the painters did all of my interior walls and painted the closets. They did a wonderful job. After they were done, we did a walkthough and he made sure that everything was to my liking and there weren't any spots. Actually, I liked working with this company so much that I had them paint my old house before I put it on the market.

Metcalf came recommended by an associate at work. We had a previous painter and ended up with poor results that did not last. The experience with Metcalf was much better. Quality of work is great and the follow up is the best I have had with any contractor. I was always kept up to date with timing by the supervisor and I was asked at several points during the process if I had any issues and if I saw anything that needed to be addressed. We had one minor issue with some overspray that was addressed by the company.

The company is outstanding. We contacted them because of their ratings on angies list and also a personal reference. They got the work done in about 5 days. It was a substantial amount of work. They were very accomadating in working around my schedule. They were extremely responsive and punctual. I would definitley recommend them to anyone and I would also use them again in the future. They are excellent.

Stephen West was very professional and very responsive. His painting crew was courteous, clean, and prompt. They painted our entire home in less than one week. The estimate was spot on, and despite many small additional repair and painting requests, no additional charges were incurred. Excellent, professional painting company. Would recommend them to anyone.

OUTSTANDING! I highly recommend Metcalf Painting. Project Manager Steve was excellent. Steve suggested we consider the satin finish and use of Duration paint for excellent coverage. He was absolutely right. Duration paint is not cheap, but absolutely worth it. The paint crew Metcalf sent was phenomenal. They were very professional, very skilled, and did a fantastic job. The finished product looks better than new. We got 4 bids and Metcalf's was very competitive but it was the thoroughness of the bid and their professionalism that won them the bid. We will use Metcalf again for our interior work.

The painting crew, with Leo at the helm, where some of the hardest working people I've met! They worked through brutal heat,very long hours and always had a smile and a joke to give.They were thoughtful to us as we were there most of the time. They diligently cleaned up every night before they left ,even though it would have been easier to leave the plastic and masking.up fot he next day! I just can't say enough nice things about this company and the way they do business! I would recommend them whole heartedly to anyone and they certainly will be invited back when we decide to do interior painting! They are the BEST!!

Mike came out gave us an estimate. We expanded the scope of the work and his crew did a great job. The house looks like new. It took about 5 days, but it was worth every penny. Will definitely use them again.

This was an A+ job all the way around. Use this company and you will see professionalism from the top to the bottom. Andrew was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning with the quote, and made routine checks on the job and kept me informed of the progress. We had a first hand account of the crew in action and we can say that their craftsmanship is excellent and they took great care to protect our surfaces and kept everything clean. Andrew was up to the task of matching the paints we selected to keep the pricing competitive, and what we got in the end was our house adorned in the colors we envisioned, and it looks fantastic! In closing, its not often that you'll make large purchases in craft-work, but when you do, you have certain expectations. Andrew listened and spent the time to make sure we were on the same page together. From the start of the job through to completion, Metcalf exceeded our expectations and left us thoroughly impressed! We highly recommend using Metcalf for your next home painting project and we will certainly be using them again!

Everything was professional, excellent recommendations on colors and work. All of the fence repair was approved and better than expected. Excellent company.

It went very well. It took one day for two people to remove the wall paper and prep the walls for painting. The wall board had minor damage from an earlier re-papering job, and several small holes that needed to be filled. The second day one painter was able to apply two coats of paint on the walls and paint the trim and baseboard. The homeowner removed all the towel racks, vanity lighting, etc and re-installed them after the painting so this was not part of the job. The management team came back after the job was completed for a final inspection and would have addressed any problems, but there were none. These are not the cheapest guys in the area, but they are the ones to go to if you want to be sure you will get a good job and good service. They have done interior painting for us before, also with exceptional results. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends.

The work was done at or above my expectations. The scope of work was very detailed and executed in a professional and coordinated manner. For exterior work we quoted a couple other firms and Metcalf was the most competitive. I feel the work relative to price paid was a good value and fair for both parties. Prep, clean-up and touch ups were very thorough. I would highly recommend Metcalf for exterior paint work.

From the initial contact with Eric Puryear to the final walk though with Eric Puryear things could not have gone any better!! We were provided with a detailed, informative quote on the job to be done. Eric wasn't pushy but he made himself available to answer any and all questions regarding cost, time, materials, process, etc. Once we decided to go with Metcalf to paint our home Eric sent me regular emails telling exactly what would happen and when. He was thorough in his explanations and also did a good job letting me know what I needed to do. Some emails, texts and phone calls were what I consider "after hours" but not for Eric. He was always available to answer questions....even at night and on weekends. The crew that worked on my home was the most professional crew I have ever seen! Led by Edgar Vallejo, this crew was polite, timely, neat, quiet, efficient and knowledgeable. They took their time in the most tedious tasks with prep work. All four of the men, Edgar, Miguel, Guillermo and Alberto were professional in every way. Their work and expertise in painting was incredible! Upon completion of the job I didn't have to pick up a single piece of tape, paint chips, debris or trash. It was apparent that Eric and his crew leader, Edgar, communicated very well and that made daily interactions run smoothly. The carpenter, Cesar, did a wonderful job replacing some trim, siding and wood on the porch floor. He was able to meet all the carpentry needs and in a timely manner. He was also very professional and helpful. All these men worked as a team with a common goal---to do a great job and make the customer happy! And THAT they did!!! I had interviewed two other paint companies. Metcalf was not the least expensive nor was it the most expensive. Eric Puryear knows his business. He is a good listener and he is very organized. He gave me space to make a decision yet he was available. He gave me a list of homes in my neighborhood that Metcalf had painted so that I was able to see Metcalf's work first hand. Also, I didn't pay a dime until the job was complete and we had a final walk though with Eric. That is how confident he is in his co-workers and crew. Our experience with Metcalf Painting was excellent.

They were excellent. The work was excellent. They have very reasonable and fair prices. We were so impressed by them we used them again. They finished the job in a timely manner. We paid $3.500 when they did job on our house.

Shutter color was off, and after the correct color was mixed Metcalf came back and repainted the shutters with the correct color. These guys are great, best contractor I have used remodeling an older home. I can recommend them to anyone without reservation. The painting crews were on time, worked hard and finished the job in less time than estimated without any issues or problems. The roofing company could not remove the gutters in a timely fashion so that the painting could be completed, so the painters did it and got the job done early. Can not say enough positive things about Metcalf painters, they are great!

Quotes were received from four (4) Angie's List contractors: It was made clear to each contractor that the home owners would need safe access to the work areas after the worker had finished for the day, and that any paint damage to the walls from removing the popcorn ceiling would need to be touched-up at the end of the project. > The low bidder declined to amend their quote to address important project scope and work process issues and their quote was rejected. > The highest bidder wanted half the quote price up front and was advised contractors are paid for what they do, not what they plan to do. Quote was rejected. >The two remaining quotes were almost identical and both companies understood the importance having a clear scope of work and the responsibilities of both parties put to writing. >Metcalf Painting was selected to do the work because their quote included a thorough cleaning of work area after the work crew had completed a normal broom clean of the work space. Project Process An existing conditions walk-through was completed by the owner and the project manager, Steven West, on the last weekday before the project was scheduled to begin, and all existing conditions were clearly set out in an email between the parties. The work crew showed up on time, and stay focused during the workday. The crew also, respected the staging area (driveway and front yard area) and kept it clean of debris and equipment clutter throughout the project. The Metcalf project crew did an excellent job completing the very messy process of removing popcorn ceiling; they kept the owners informed of the project progress; and the project was completed in four days - one day ahead of schedule. A project close out walk-through was completed after the cleaners had finished their work and the one item found by the project manager was corrected on the spot to the satisfaction of the owner. The Metcalf Painting team, from the project manager to the cleaning crew staff, understood the project process; they understood how to work with home owners; and the importance of providing excellent service. The project was a success and the home owners are very satisfied with the results.

On time for estimate; quick turnaround with written estimate. On time for the day of sevice, crew was extremely polite and professional. Work done is outstandng; like they were never here! Clean up was meticulous. When the door that was to be replaced wasn't available, Metcalf suggested using an existing transom window be used; with a savings to us. We used this company for exterior painting, and their work was why we chose them. I would recommend Metcalf to anyone looking for a positive experience!

** Painters are top notch - But consider hiring your own carpenter for wood repairs. See below. After getting three estimates, I chose Metcalf Painting. My decision was based on the clear and thorough presentation of the work to be done by the project manager , Eric Puryear. Estimate: Eric was very professional and took the time to ensure that I understood the entire painting process - including materials used and painting schedule. As promised, Eric emailed a complete estimate, along with references and insurance information, in the time promised. Scheduling: Upon awarding Metcalf with the painting job, Eric immediately put our job on the schedule. Power Washing: The power washers showed up on schedule and did an excellent job. Prep Work: Again, everyone showed up right on schedule. The quality of the prep work was excellent. All seams on my siding were caulked to perfection. Carpentry Work: This is the part of the job that I was highly disappointed with and is the reason I would not hire this provider (for carpentry) in the future. ** A rotten post cap on my front porch railing was not nailed down correctly and simply came off when I pulled up on it. (Didn't the carpenter check to make sure that the post cap was secure after nailing it down??) ** The carpenter damaged two pieces of wood trim while performing wood repairs on two my two picture windows. (Didn't the carpenter notice the excessive pry marks and split piece of wood that he caused?) ** There were several instances of exposed nail heads (not flush) in a couple of areas where wood repairs were made. Since the nails were not nailed in all the way, the painters could not fill the nail holes with caulk. (sloppy!) ** The carpenter did not re-install a section of gutter correctly after performing wood repairs. There was a large gap between the gutter and fascia board - causing water to drip behind the gutter. (This could have caused potential future rot problems) To be fair, one quick call to Eric (along with sending pictures to him) and the carpenter was back at my house in the AM to fix the issues. But, in my opinion, these issues either never should have happened in the first place, or should have been taken care of before leaving the job. Painting: The quality of the paint work was EXCELLENT! We've gotten so many compliments from the neighbors on how the house looks. The painters were very friendly and very professional. These guys are hard workers and earn every dollar they make. We could not be happier with the quality of their work. Final Inspection: Eric scheduled a final walk-around, at a time that was convenient for me. I pointed out a few very minor touch-ups and the painters addressed EVERY SINGLE ONE! Payment: Metcalf takes major credit cards. This works out well if you have a cash back credit card.
