Kevin is very nice. I know he was swamped with Angie's List coupon offers. And he had an illness in his family. So sometimes emails were not returned in a timely manner. And he was easy to work with and did an excellent job.

He showed up as promised, took measurements and everything was looking good. He promised to respond promptly with an estimate for the custom blinds. That was almost 3 weeks ago. Since then, he hasn't responded to any of my attempts to reach him (message via Angie's List, email or phone call). So, today I called Angie's and got a refund on the deal I purchased.

Work was done fast and well. Area was cleaned up. One guy urinated in the trees, which isn't the worst part of the experience. The problem is that we haven't been able to get them to provide the warrantee paperwork they said they would. We've called 14 times and left messages with phone numbers to call us back, but so far they haven't. Work was done April 2016

Kevin was quick to respond to my call and we are pleased with his work. We would recommend without reservation.

My shades are up. My husband didn't think it was a good deal at all. It was advertised as $89. All we got were simple darkening blinds, and it ended up costing us $299 so I thought it was false advertising. I told the man that and he said how much better his blinds were. I would not recommend them to anyone. They were just blinds similar to the blinds I already have in my bedroom. It cost me much more than the ad indicated. I said I thought it was $89 for $350 worth of blinds but he said the blinds I picked out were more money. I could have bought them at Lowe's for $50. The 2 blinds are stuck. It was a very poor deal. It makes me think I'm not interested in getting Angie's deals again. I thought he had falsely advertised on Angie's List and I saw him advertising again. The blinds are good quality, there's no question about that. He said the warranty is for life. I don't know about that until something happens to them. They were okay. I told him that I didn't like the price. I already put the $89 in so I had already paid that so I didn't want to lose that. If I had known what they were going to end up costing, I would not have bought them. I would say they should honor their price that they're advertising on Angie's List. I would not use them and I would not recommend anyone else using them.

Kevin Beddingfield of James Taylor Shutters and Blinds measured my window for a shutter and also installed it. This is the second shutter Kevin has installed for me. The first was vinyl and this one is wood. They both are beautiful! Kevin is extremely courteous and professional. He arrived promptly and installed the shutter very quickly. I could not be more satisfied with the work! I will definitely hire them again.

Deck (12' by 15'), siding (Hardie color plus) and window (Simonton Asure) were installed correctly as I observed most of it and even help out in a small way on some it which I enjoyed.

Kevin was wonderful. He responded to my emails very quickly, kept the appt. time we set up and provided helpful knowledge in helping me decide which blinds to order. Would definitely work with them again on other projects.

After some miscommunication as to "delivery dates" and times, finally the installation was done. The work was done reasonably well, and to my satisfaction.

I love it!

After three attempts to contact them, the company representative never responded to my Big Deal purchase. I would not work with them.

I had my quote in hand and looked at Angies List for any last minute reviews and such and I was very happy to see James Taylor had a Buy Now deal offering $6500.00 worth of roofing work (just like the kind listed in the quote I was holding) for the buy now price of $3999.00. Just to be sure I talked to an Angies Rep and I had total understanding of this simple offer and was just about to pay now when I figured I would call Taylor first to run it past him. Keep in mind the rep said I was spot on in my understanding of this deal. He became VERY agitated , bad mouthed Angies List saying "They overinflate the offer then just take $500.00 right off the top for themselves. let me get back to you with my BEST offer" Two minutes later he calls and offers me after much hot air from him or perhaps he does not have a grasp of basic math,he tells me he'll lower his bid by $350.00 followed by his rendition of a hundred reasons why it's Angies list "making every thing confusing and..." Ever hear the phrase BS Baffles the Brain? This guy is such a yapper it almost worked on even me! I called a rep at Angies today just to confirm my assumption of his lack of gray matter was on the mark. It is. Just run, if this is a QUOTE/COUPON issue I can only imagine how confusing any actual WORK would be for this DOLT.

Bryan was professional and I would use him again. He has great customer service.

He helped me install blinds that I purchased at Lowe's as well. He was great. He really did over and above what was expected of him.

Very pleasant and professional visit and no hard sales. Same person did installation so continuity was nice. Would definitely hire again for another job and recommend highly to others.

)This work was done in the Spring of 2013. At the time I was happy with the experience, and overall the quality seems fine. My only complaint is this: The house is under contract to sell, and the property inspection conducted for the buyer determined that the vent stack boots (replaced by James Taylor Construction as part of the roofing job) were not properly fastened and so could leak. I emailed James Taylor and placed two phone calls to the person that supervised my roof replacement - I had to leave messages as the person did not pick up. In the messages and the email I provided a description of the issue. The company has responded to neither the email nor the voice messages. I have had to get another contractor to do the work as closing is imminent. I find it disappointing that any contractor, let alone one with a good reputation, would not stand behind the quality of their work. It would have been a simple matter for them to send someone out for perhaps 1/2 hour of work.

It went very well. We discovered mold on the interior walls of a storage room off the side of our house and later determined that water was seeping into the room via porous, damaged siding. We wanted to address the issue quickly and as economically as possible. We also knew there were other spots of damaged siding (and trim) that needed to be fixed elsewhere on the house. Several other siding businesses I called wouldn't even do repairs--just new installations. The masonite siding used on our house is no longer available, but rather than try to sell us a whole house-worth of vinyl siding, Bryan suggested that they could pull any good siding off the storage room and use it to repair all of the places identified. That sort of problem solving sold me on James Taylor Construction pretty quickly. Bryan was also super friendly, very responsive to texts and emails, and clearly on top of things. He called to keep me posted on what was going on and when things would happen. Additionally, he was sweet with my kids, which tends to go a long way with me. A crew of five guys shows up on a Monday morning and got to work. They stayed late both days to finish things up. They encountered some surprise termite damage and dealt with the it efficiently, carefully, and, most importantly, thoroughly. They fixed some additional spots of rot without a fuss. And by Tuesday evening the work was complete. They cleaned up after themselves each day and were polite (and grateful for snacks!). The gutter took all of 20 minutes for a different subcontractor to install on Wednesday and I hardly new the guy was here! I'd hire them again in a second.

Good communication. Came out quickly to do estimate. They were significance lower priced than competitors. It was done on the day we planned. Finished in a day and a half. Nice cleanup job. Everything went smoothly. No complaints!

It stunk! There were all sorts of promises to get things done. No FOLLOW UP! measurements made,etc. However when I called to follow up, no response. Angies list was great about the situation and they let me use my 199.00 on another big deal which worked out. Do not hire Taylor's for blinds and shutters if you want the work completed!
