This job could not have gone better. G & E was the lowest cost of the 6 estimates we received. We were hesitant to go with them because their price was so low. However, once we confirmed they were using the same materials as the other bidders and once we studied all their reviews on Angie's List, we gave them the job. They started work within 2 weeks, showed up with a huge crew, took great pains to protect the surroundings and were done by about 7:00pm on the same day they started. Clean-up was excellent and Ed came out a day or so later to inspect job and make sure all nails were cleaned up. By the end of the week, the whole project was just a distant memory. All we had left to remind us we'd had the work done was a beautiful, incredibly done roof. We are very, very pleased and wholeheartedly recommend G & E.

Very pleased with outcome.. from start to finish. Owner can by twice to make sure I was happy and answered any questions I might have had.

They contacted me to set up a site inspection for us to show him the work we wanted done. Two men showed up to begin removing the wood rot and ready the area for new wood to be cut and installed. While one man worked on the window wood rot, the other was out back removing siding on the porch that was rotten. My husband and the worked went to the hardware store to purchase supplies. They returned to begin putting up new wood and siding. Once they completed this task they applied a primer coat to the siding and we were to follow up with the painting. For the windows they replaced the wood and primed and painted the trim work. They had to add four hours to complete the task so it took the cost from $299 to $700 which was a bit more than we expected but we needed the work done. Everything looks good and we are ready for the fall/winter. Both men were professional, pleasant and knowledgable. The only item that was a bit of a concern is they took a piece of wood for the kitchen window that needed to be cut by a miter and we don't have it back yet. He did call and mention the machine wasn't available and he would get it to us. Overall, this doesn't impact our approval with the company and work.

It took forever to schedule the appointment. He was here from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. He said he would come out next week and I have not heard from him in three weeks. He left some items at my house as well. Half of the time he was here, he was on the phone. I feel like I did not do 6 hours of work, and did not complete the project. I have tried to contact him many times to no avail.

Paul did a fantastic job on that. He was very nice and gave me some suggestions. I am going to have him back to do some more work on the exterior of my home. One complaint I did have was that it took them some time to get back to me because they did have a high response for the big deal.

the work went very well. they were delayed a few days but worked very quickly when they got there. the yard was left clean (just a few nails found). they matched the roof on my new garage exacctly.

We had a great experience. We had Ed come out to provide us an estimate before we bought the Big Deal, and he was happy to do so. His guys came out & did the work in about 3 days (would have been 2, except it rained one day). One of his guys fixed a rotten window frame inside our house and it looks amazing (he repaired it, didn't have to replace the whole plate glass bay window, which was a relief). Also fixed some rotten siding out front and repaired a hole near the chimney where a family of squirrels were getting in. Overall we were very pleased, and thought the price was good. And they did a great job cleaning up afterward. Ed was very easy-going, and pleasant to talk to and work with. Would definitely recommend!

The men that came to do the work were very pleasant and easy to work with. They adjusted a door leading outside that wouldn't latch properly, which made us a feel a lot safer. They went over and above what was expected of them for which we are very appreciative. They cleaned up old weather stripping and disposed of it.

We knew we needed to have the roof replaced on our 1700 sq ft. home. We sought out a number of estimates, and even though only one of them came out immediately, we were pleased with the professionalism and initiative of G & E. What impressed us beyond anything was their incredibly reasonable price. While we have as basic a roof as anyone could imagine (think Monopoly hotel), G & E's estimate was $800 - $1000+ cheaper than the other estimates we received! The crew came out and replaced the entire roof, including a couple of panels of plywood, before sunset! They were fast, friendly and wonderfully hard working. They even cleaned up on-site, leaving our driveway tidier than it was before they came. The new roof looks great, and not having to worry about it is a huge relief. We would certainly hire G & E again, and recommend them!

The man came out and he was great. But, I have vinyl replacement windows and doors. There wasn’t really anything to caulk or weatherstrip. He was very up-front and honest. He could’ve spent a few hours putting caulk around the windows but it wouldn’t have done any good. He could’ve very easily misled us and done unnecessary work but he was honest in telling us that we didn’t need it.

Went very well. Cleaned up the site well after the work. No complaints!

I had a great experience with them. They gave me such satisfaction, I will continue using Angie's List. They were very knowledgeable about the job with all the questions I had. He was a very pleasant man and was not pushy at all. He came by a few times to show me samples of the tiling and shingles. They got the work done in a timely fashion. Their pricing was very good. If I ever need another roof, or anything else to that matter, he would be a go-to guy.

He actually did more than he was obligated to. He saw some minor adjustments, other than the weather stripping, and did them. He could have just mentioned them and gone his way, or offered to fix for extra money, but he did them. Very happy with his service.

Arrived on time, was professional polite and efficient.

I purchased a Big Deal, and according to this coupon they were going to replace the weather seal on 5 doors and 20 windows. When they got to my house today, they indicated they would only replace the weather seal on the doors and then caulk around the windows. This is not what was advertised in bold print. This was very misleading.

They were responsive and able to come out the same week I contacted them. The deal I purchased included up to 5 doors & 20 windows for $199, and I ended up spending an additional $240 for our remaining windows above the 20 included. They worked with me on the pricing for caulking the inside of the windows on the 3rd floor where their ladder wouldn't reach. Both of the people that worked at our house were personable, professional, and took extra time reviewing the work that they performed. I am very satisfied with the overall result, process, and I believe the price was fair. I would recommend and use G&E again. (I plan to engage them for a quote on getting an attic fan installed as well)

Paul Hamerka came out to give me an estimate on the job and advised me honestly that I didn't need to have the work done. I had already paid upfront for the service, so I thought it was really honest that we didn't need it and advised me to call Angie's List back to get the refund.

They did an excellent job on my roof. I fully endorse them. I'd recommend them to anyone.

They came and worked, cleaned up and got the job done. The quality of work was excellent. I would use their services again in the future.

I responded to the Big Deal on Angie's List, and requested an estimate to replace my 24 year old roof. Ed Woody showed up at the agreed on time and spent a lot of time discussing the project with me. I was impressed with his thoroughness and friendliness. I had a detailed written estimate a day or two later. I also received estimates from two other companies, but decided to go with G&E, primarily because of price. All three companies were about even on reputation and ratings. I might add that Ed did not try to sell me things I did not need. The work was scheduled to start on May 21, and it actually did. Ed and his crew showed up early and got to work right away. The crew worked about 13 hours on each of the first two days, and about 4 hours on the third day. All work was done a very satisfactory manner. We now have a great looking roof! Ed Woody really knows how to interact with his customers!

Four roofers showed up at my door on the day of the appointment. They started work immediately and continued working non-stop throughout the day. A supervisor showed up a couple of times to check up on them. My house is 90 y.o. and there were some problems with settling. The supervisor discussed with me different options to fixed it. He was afraid that the repairs might show and detract from the appeal of the house. He told me that he was going to go to Lowe's to check up different solutions. He came up with one that only added $200.00 extra dollars to the bill. I am very happy with their professionalism and recommended them to my daughter

I first contacted the company because they posted a special coupon offer. I also got estimates from two other companies, one of which also was on Angie's List. G&E's estimate was complete and easy to understand. Ed Woody was very helpful and answered all of our questions. They arrived on time each day. They put tarps down anywhere debris might fall including the the lawn and the deck. They also used magnets to pick up loose nails and picked up small pieces of shingle by hand. The roof looks very nice. I recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, knowledgeable people to work on their house.

I requested a cost estimate from G and E prior to purchasing a "Big Deal" for their roofing services on Angie's list. Ed came out very quickly and provided the estimate. He also provided roofing samples at my request. All communication was prompt. I had a few questions about the estimate and was concerned about potential cost overruns if many sheets of plywood needed to be replaced, but Jim and Ed worked with me and adjusted the estimate so that I would be comfortable with it. I purchased the "Big Deal" and arranged to have the work done in mid-March since I needed to get approval from my HOA. The work was scheduled very quickly after I received the go ahead, which was earlier than expected. The laborers arrived on the day arranged and the work was completed promptly and efficiently. The final cost was exactly what had been estimated. I'm extremely satisfied with all aspects of this roofing job and highly recommend the services of G and E Contracting. Excellent work at a fair price.

Size covered by the special price, but he aid he would install a ridge vent at no charge.asked for that.

I dealt with Ed from start to finish. Completed the job in two days. Cleaned up well, no damage done. A rain diverter was left off by the crew and was not noticed till I inspected the job the next day in daylight. One call to Ed and he had it taken care of. Overall good experience with this company.
