All went well. Very friendly. Very courteous. Seemed quite trustworthy. I did need to run out and get materials for the window job. Luckily I was around. We did this primarily to save time and I can't expect every handyman to have every supply for every job I throw at him at any given moment. All in all I was very pleased and this work saved me a huge amount of time.

It didn't turn out well at all. It was a pretty bad experience from the get go. These guys contacted me within the first 2 days of me purchasing the deal however when they showed up, they didn't know why they were here and they asked me to remind them why they were here. They were to do gutter installation and they seemed kind of confused. They came back a couple days later and there were 2 Hispanic fellows who came, rang the doorbell and they told me they didn't have enough material to do the job and so they took down the existing gutters and they left. They didn't say anything to me. They came back a few day later and installed the gutters and in the meanwhile I called the owner and asked him to call me back and let me know what was happening. I wanted to know why they showed up not knowing what they were doing and not having enough material to do their job. They finished the job and I didn't receive a bill for their services which was an additional $600 above the $250 for the Deal and I even had an issue with that because my house is only 282 square feet and I was perplexed as to why they charged me an additional $600.

We were very satisfied with the work they did. They came back because they collapsed a roof in our bathroom. There were some issues in our bathroom where some plastic came down, but it wasn’t their fault, but apparently we were very satisfied. It was a big deal purchase, but we spent $1000 more than the big deal price. They were very responsive in working with us to figure out our cost, helping us choose colors and dropping off samples. They were punctual and the rest of the neighborhood woke up at 7 O’clock when they did. We liked Edwardy, the construction guy.

The roof was replaced, a ridge vent was added, and new gutters were installed. |The roof looks great and has held up well so far. I have recommended this company to friends who were looking for roofers.|Our only real issues were with overall organization. Responses to questions via email sometimes took several days. We received an email asking why we hadn't paid before we ever received an invoice, and then STILL didn't get an invoice in the mail, as we requested. Eventually, the invoice was provided by email and I sent the check for the balance due right away. |I had to have the company come back out to seal off the attic gable fans, since you're not supposed to have both ridge vents (which James Taylor Construction installed) with gable fans. I'm not sure the average homeowner would have caught the oversight. The original estimate said that fans would be removed and vents would be sealed. The fans are still in place, but disconnected, and we were told the vents are sealed, though I haven't checked myself.|The other minor issue was that the downspouts for the gutters were not aligned with the existing underground drainage connectors. I fixed that minor issue myself. The gutter installer was a subcontractor, selected by James Taylor Construction. I also had to get an extension for one downspout because there was no extension installed, as there previously had been, so water was dumping where we don't want it - near the house.

I called and left a message to make an appt. to get new gutters. Ed called back and said he could come the next day in the afternoon and would call me before he came out. He never called me. I called him the next day leaving him another message telling him I was going out of town, but that if he called my sons phone (I left him the number) that he would be the one taking care of this anyway. My son never received a phone call. Just rude!

Excellent service! It did take a little back and forth to get in touch with them, but once we got past getting in touch, the service was fast, complete, and well done. I would definitely use these folks again.

It all went very well. It took them two days to do the job. They removed the old roof, resealed all the vents, removed the attic vent fan, replaced some plywood on the roof where there had been a bit of water damage, and then installed the new roof. The roof looks beautiful and we have received some great comments from our neighbors. And of course the roof works great, no leaks.

From first contact to getting a bid, to the work days, to presenting the bill at the end, it was a pleasure to deal with James Taylor Construction. I was thrilled with the fair price, the professionalism and most of all, the finished product - my roof looks great. My neighbors are all asking, "Who did your roof?" because it looks wonderful. I know I got a good price and that satisfaction on top of a great looking roof makes me a very happy customer.

It was excellent. The provider was very good and was very helpful pointing out some things. He didn’t try and sell me up on anything and if anything, he said a lot of my stuff looked pretty good. He replaced it anyway as per the agreement but he said I should keep on doing what I was doing and that everything looked good. He just gave me some good tips in terms of keeping the house, utility-efficient because I had air conditioning and heating leaking out of windows and doors.

They were professional, understood what was needed, had good communication, took time to get job done as estimate stated. Price is the best among 3 quoted, through 50ft for $279 angie's list coupon. Highly recommended.

The work went great. The quote was several thousand below others, used Angies List big deal and included architectural shingles. The week before installation we had several days of rain so the crew was delayed by one day on my roof, but this wasn't an issue. Ed Woody kept in contact with us the entire time on when the work would start, provided sample shingles and homes with installed roofs we could view. This was a great help in determining what color we would put on our roof. The crew arrived on time and did a great job including clean up. There was a small section of gutter that was dented during the removal of the old roof and Ed had that section replaced the next day. I can't even tell where they replaced the one section as it all looks perfect. A small mixup on our order required someone to come out the next week to replace the old sky light with the new unit, but that was handled in a very professional manner as well. We have received numerous compliments on the new roof and will use James Taylor for future home projects.

Talk about great customer service! They provided a dumpster for the roof debris which kept everything quite manageable. The roof was stripped, necessary plywood replaced and shingled in the specified time and my new roof looks great. Once the roof was completed, the men cleaned up any debris in the yard and checked for and collected nails that had fallen. I was very pleased with the job and would highly recommend Ed and his company.

Everything went very smoothly, extremely happy with the result. Great looking house, like a new. Crew was professional and very efficient.

They were here when they said they would be and completed the job timely in a professional manner. All work areas were protected and then cleaned of all debris. I would recommend them for anyone wanting roof work done

They end result of their work was fine. One issue I did run into was that I have solar tubes on my roof and I wanted to make sure they knew how to work with them. They informed they did but after the project was completed I noticed there was debris in the solar tubes it was a bit difficult to remove. I feel if the supervisor was there on the job the issue would not have occurred. They did come back to fix the issue though.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and communication. They did not try to "upsell" me at all during the quote. The options were laid out in a clear and pressure-free manner. The replacement itself was very smooth and I would definitely utilize their services again.

I purchased a "Big Deal" from then G & E Contracting to caulk windows and replace door sweep on three exterior doors. I felt the price was reasonable even just for the door sweeps. So I purchased. I spoke and emailed with Paul Hamerka. It took a few days to get things set up (no problem). I explained to Paul that my vinyl-cased windows probably wouldn't need any caulking, and he agreed. He also mentioned that the Big Deal was mostly set up for door weatherstripping, not replacing the door sweep. But, since I wasn't getting any window work done, he agreed to outfit my house's three exterior doors with weatherstripping and sweeps. I thought that was reasonable, and Paul was very polite and understanding. Day of the service, it took the crew several hours to perform the job that should have taken no more than 1 or 2, not counting trips to Home Depot to get the correct door sweeps. We also had to fork up a modest amount more money for sweeps. At this point, Paul suggested he invoice us for a smaller amount of money and I request a refund from Angie's List, since at this point, the work described in the Big Deal most definitely was not the work being done. That process eventually happened, and Paul supported that from his end, but it took a couple months and email interventions on my part. Bottom line: the weatherstripping was adequate, but door sweep job was poorly done. My wife (who was at home to attend the work) said that the crew appeared to have great difficulty with the install and with adjusting the door thresholds to fit. The doors were difficult to close for at least the first few weeks, and within that time at least one door developed a gap large enough for light to show through. Now, even a year later, we can't fully latch our front door knob AND lock the deadbolt at the same time. Based on their first visit, I didn't want to call this provider back out to fix the work. It was also suspicious to me that G & E changed hands / names in the ensuing months. I can't fault Paul's attitude, politeness, or apparent intent to do a good job. He was good to deal with. But my wife's real-time assessment of the job and my own post-mortem analysis of the work just don't speak very positively. Here a year out, the doors are worse than they started.

Ed woody was the project manager and he did a great job.The actual labor was done by a hispanic crew who worked hard with long days. They started at 8AM every morning...finishing on a Saturday. They cleaned up every night before they left. They cleaned out my eaves and replaced the gutter guards which I really appreciated. Their truck bumped my mailbox post one day damaging it. Mr Woody paid for all replacement without any questions. I would recommend them to anyone who is contemplating a new roof.
